4.2 CHOOSE YOUR LOCATION

  • If tipped more than 45°, allow the unit to set upright for at least 24 hours before start-up.

  • Place the unit on a firm, level surface in an area with at least 20 inches of free space around it to allow for proper air circulation.

  • Do not operate in close proximity to walls, curtains, or other objects that may block the air inlet and outlet. Keep the air inlet and outlet free of obstacles.

  • Never install the unit where it could be subject to:

  • Heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other products that produce heat.

  • Direct sunlight

  • Mechanical vibration or shock

  • Excessive dust

  • Lack of ventilation, such as cabinet or bookcase

  • Uneven surface

4.3 ATTACH THE EXHAUST HOSE
The air conditioner requires being vented outside so that the exhaust air can escape the room which coming from the appliance contains waste heat and moisture. Do not replace or extend the exhaust hose which will result in decreased efficiency, even worse shut down the unit due to low back pressure.
Step 1: Connect the hose connector to one end of the exhaust hose.

Step 3: Extend the adjustable window kit the length of your window. Connect the exhaust hose to the window kit.

Step 4: Close your window to secure the kit in place. It needs to hold the windows kit firmly in place. Secure the window kit with duct tape if required.
It is recommended that the gap between the adapter and the sides of the window should be sealed off for maximum efficiency.

Automatic Defrost
At low room temperatures, frost may build up at the evaporator, and the air conditioner will, at some point during operation, perform an auto “defrost” cycle. Some owners feel that this is a fault because the unit isn’t performing as well as it should. Defrosting is a normal part of the operation, and is not a fault with the product. The unit will automatically start defrosting and the POWER light flashes. The defrost control sequence is as follows:
When the compressor runs for more than 20 minutes, the temperature sensor begins measuring the temperature. Defrost starts when the temperature sensor senses a  temperature ≤34°F/1℃ for 3 minutes, the compressor stops working, the fan runs at high speed, and the power light flashes. When the temperature is detected ≥45°F/7℃, the unit will automatically stop the defrosting. The compressor restarts in 3 minutes, and the temperature sensor begins measuring again.

Overload Protection
After a power outage, it takes 3 minutes for the compressor to restart.

5.4 DRAINAGE
Self-Evaporating System
The self-evaporating system uses the collected water to cool the condenser coils for better efficient performance. There is no need to empty the drainage tank in Cool Mode except in Dry Mode and high humidity conditions. The condensate water evaporates at the condenser or through the exhaust hose. For continuous operation or unattended operating in Dry Mode, please connect the attached drain hose to the unit. Condensate water will automatically flow into a bucket or drain by gravity.

• Unplug the unit from the power source.
• Remove the plug of the water outlet opening, and keep it in a safe area. Some residual water may spill so please have a pan to collect the water.
• Connect the drain hose securely and make sure it is not kinked and clear of obstruction.
• Place the outlet of the hose over a floor drain or bucket. Make sure that water could flow out of the unit freely.
• Do not submerge the end of the hose into the water; otherwise it can cause an “Air Lock” in the hose.| Nestfair LMS288454A Portable Air Conditioner -
power
---|---

To avoid water spillage:

  • As the negative pressure of the condensate drain pan is large, tilt the drain hose down toward the floor. It is best that the degree of inclination should exceed 20 degrees.
  • Do not bend the hose. A bent hose will block water and cause the unit to malfunction or shut off.

CLEANING AND CARE

6.1 CLEANING THE AIR FILTER
The air filter is to be cleaned every two weeks to maintain a cleaner environment and air-cooling efficiency. It is removable for easy cleaning. Do not operate the unit without an air filter, or the evaporator may be contaminated.

  1. Press the POWER button to switch off the unit and unplug the unit.
  2. Remove the filter from the unit.
  3. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the filter.
  4. Gently wash using running water, rinse thoroughly and let the water run through the filter in the opposite direction of airflow. Set aside and allow the filter to air dry completely before reinstalling.

WARNING!!!
DO NOT touch the evaporator surface with bare-hand. Doing so can cause serious injury.

6.2 CLEANING UP OF REFRIGERANT
General Measures:

  1. Gas/vapor is heavier than air and can collect in low-lying areas, particularly at or below ground level.
  2. Identify and eliminate all possible ignition sources.
  3. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  4. Keep out unnecessary and unprotected personnel. Isolate and ventilate the area.
  5. Do not get in eyes, on the skin, or on clothing. Do not breathe vapors or gas.
  6. Prevent entry into sewers and public waters.
  7. Stop the source of the release, if safe to do so. Consider the use of water spray to disperse vapors.
  8. Isolate the area until gas has dispersed. Ventilate and gas test area before entering. Contact competent authorities after a spill.

DECOMMISSIONING

8.1 STORAGE
If the unit will not be used for a long time (more than a few weeks), be sure to clean the unit, and drain the left-over water condensation completely. Please store the unit per the following steps:

  1. Unplug the unit, and remove the exhaust hose and window kit. Store them with the unit.
  2. Drain the remaining water from the unit.
  3. Remove the air filter and clean it with water. Dry the air filter and then reinstall.
  4. The unit must be kept in an upright position when in storage.
  5. Store the machine in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and corrosive gas.

ATTENTION:
The evaporator inside the machine has to be dried out before the unit is packed to avoid component damage and molds. Unplug the unit and place it in a dry open area for days to dry it out. Another way to dry the unit is to turn on the machine, adjust it to low-speed fan mode, and maintain this state until the drainage pipe becomes dry, so as to keep the inside of the body in a dry state and prevent it from mildewing.

8.2 DISPOSAL
WARNING!!!
Releasing refrigerant into the atmosphere is strictly forbidden!
Do not dispose of electrical appliances as unsorted municipal waste, in particular household waste. Contact your local government for information regarding the collection systems available. If electrical appliances are disposed of in landfills or dumps, hazardous substances can leak into the groundwater and get into the food chain, damaging your health and well-being.
