Installing/Uninstalling Accessories

1. installing the battery
   To install the battery, aim the battery pack at the battery slot of the radio, and then push it forward. When a “click” is heard, the battery is locked.

3. To remove the battery, turn off the radio, press the battery latch at the bottom of the radio, and draw out the battery backward. Installing the antenna

4. To install the antenna, insert the threaded end of the antenna into the threaded hole on the radio and rotate it clockwise until it is tightened.

5. Removing the antenna
   To remove the antenna, rotate the antenna counterclockwise until it is out.

6. Installing the belt clip
   To install the belt clip, align the two attached screws with the screw holes at the back of the radio, and screw them clockwise. Removing the belt clip
   To remove the belt clip, unscrew counterclockwise the two screws at the back of the radio.

7. Installing/removing external earphone/microphone
   Take out the cover of the earphone/microphone jack and plug an earphone or a microphone.

8. Installing the strap
   Pass the radio cord through the hole on the back housing of the radio.

Charging the battery

The battery is not charged when delivered, so it has not reached its normal capacity. Therefore, please charge the battery before starting using it. After long-term storage (more than 2 months), the battery should be charged as well before use.
After charging/discharging for two or three times, the battery capacity will reach the optimal state. If the battery is still low after several times of correct charging, please replace it with a new one.

Charging steps

1. Insert the micro USB plug of the power adapter into the micro USB socket at the rear of the battery or that on the earphone.
2. Plug the AC plug of the power adapter into the 110~220V AC power outlet.
3. Charging starts, and the indicators on the power adapter and on the radio shine red light.
4. When charging is finished, the battery indicator light will turn green.
5. Unplug the AC plug of the power adapter.

Note:

1. Please use the supplied battery, so as to ensure normal operation of the radio.
2. Please use the supplied power adapter so as to ensure normal charging and battery life.

Caution:

1. To fully charge the battery, ensure the ambient temperature is 5 ° C to 40 ° C.
2. Before charging, turn off the radio.
3. Do not disassemble the battery housing.
4. For smooth charging, do not reconnect the power supply or load or remove the battery during charging.
5. If the operation time of the battery is still short after normal charging, please replace the battery.
6. Do not use the battery under a temperature of 60 ° C.

Warning

1. To avoid explosion, do not place the battery in fire or strike it with strong force.
2. To prevent the battery electrodes from being short-circuited, wipe the battery surface often with a dry towel, and avoid putting the battery (or the radio) in a pocket or purse with a metallic object, for example, a key.

LED indicator
Red light on: Transmission or charging is under progress.

Icons

Basic Operation

1. Powering on/off
   Power on: Rotate the Power/Volume key clockwise. The radio will beep, and the LCD and green indicator light will be on.
   Power off: Rotate the Power/Volume counterclockwise.

2. Adjusting the volume
   Rotate the Power/Volume key clockwise to increase the volume, or counterclockwise to decrease it.

3. Selecting a gro
   Method 1: In standby state, click the 【Menu key】,
   select 【Group Selection】, press the 【Up/Down key】 to select a group, and press the 【Menu key】. To exit, hold down the
   【Menu key】.
   Method 2: In standby state, press the 【side key 1】, and select a group.

Basic Operation

Selecting a member
Method 1: In standby state, click the 【Menu key】, select Member Selection and then Group Member, press the 【Up/Down key】 to select a member, and press the 【Menu key】. To exit, hold down the 【Menu key】.
Method 2: In standby state, hold down the 【side key 2】. In the popup interface, select a member.
While selecting a member, you can search for the member by pressing the 【Up/Down key】 and then entering the member’s ID.

Selecting a friend
Method 1: In standby state, click the 【Menu key】, select Friend S election and then Friends, select a friend by pressing the 【Up/Down key】, and press the【Menu key】 To exit, hold down the【Menu key】.
Method 2: In standby state, press the 【side key 2】 to enter Friend Selection. Hold down the 【side key 1】. In the popup interface, select a friend.
While selecting a friend, you can search for the friend by pressing the 【Up/Down key】 key and then entering the friend’s ID.

Making a call
Hold down the 【PTT key】. Red indicator light will be on, and the screen will display “the radio is speaking…”. Now you can speak to the microphone. Please keep the microphone about 3 to 5 centimeters away from the mouth and speak in a normal tone, so that the receiver achieves the best sound quality.

Receiving a call
To receive a call, release the 【PTT key】. You can receive a call from the channel you are on.

 PTT settings

In the standby state, click the【Menu key】, select PTT Settings.
To quit, hold down the【Menu key】.

1. Sound quality: Set standard or high-definition sound.
2. Alert tone: Enable/disable alert tone, and set a volume level.
3. Screen on via PTT: In screen-off state, whether to turn on the screen when the PTT key is pressed.
4. Screen on when called: In screen-off state, whether to turn on the screen when a call is received.
5. Last call display: Enable/disable last call display.
6. Profile: Set indoor/outdoor mode.

System settings

1. Mute: Enable/disable mute mode.
2. Key tone: Enable/disable key tone, and set a volume level.
3. Brightness: Adjust the screen brightness (level 1 to 10).
4. Backlight: Set backlight time.
5. Keyboard light: Turn on/off keyboard light.
6. Indicator light: Enable indicator light.
7. Theme: Apply the default theme or brilliance theme.
8. Menu return: Set the time of automatic menu return.
9. Time zone: Set a time zone.
10. Language: Set Chinese or English.

Network selection
In standby state, click the 【Menu key】 select Network Selection, and choose a network. To exit, hold down the 【Menu key】.

Positioning information
In standby state, click the 【Menu key】, select Positioning Information, and view the current number of satellites, longitude and latitude. To exit, hold down the 【Menu key】.

Radio information
In standby state, click the 【Menu key】, select Positioning Information, and view the account info, device info and version info. To exit, hold down the 【Menu key】.

Troubleshooting

Power-on failed

| Reason 1: Low battery.

Solution: Charge or replace the battery. Reason 2: SIM card failed.

Solution: Check or replace SIM card. Reason 3: Battery in poor contact.

Solution: Reinstall the battery or clean

its contacts.

standby time

| Reason: Battery performance dropped. Solution: Replace the battery.

Charging exception

| Reason 1: Poor contact.

Solution: Change for another socket or plug.

Reason 2: Low battery voltage resulting in no charging display.

Solution: Charge for about half an hour, and then reconnect the micro USB plug.

Reason 3: Battery failed. Solution: Replace the battery. Reason 4: Charger failed.

Solution: Replace or repair the charger.
