Frequently Asked Questions
Does the timer all ways have to be used? Is there an option for no timer? The sound plays until physically stop/turnoff machine?****
The timer is an optional setting and does not need to be used. By not selecting a timer, the sound machine will play indefinitely until you power off the machine.
Can someone upload a video with the sounds?****
It’s hard to get a clear idea of the sound quality when recorded though. I have one of these and find the nature sounds a bit “canned” and the music too “new wave” for my taste.
Is there a Lullaby option?****
No but Tranquil is pretty close. There are maybe 3 that are very close to lullaby settings. There’s also white noise.
My dog chewed the wire adapter, is there a way to but just the adapter or the name of the plug in piece so I can try to find one comparable?****
I don’t know the answer, but contacting Sharper Image customer service is what I would do. In the meantime, I would put batteries in and use it that way.
Does it play Indian flute music?****
Yes. It also plays your nose hairs too.
If I unplug it while it is still on and then plug it back in, will it automatically restart with the same sound as prior to unplugging?****
The sound machine will need to be turned back on using the power button, but the same sound will play.
Is there a special type of headset that works for this? My iphone wired headset does not work. Have tried two types.****
I don’t know. I haven’t tried one yet.
First review says it needs an adaptor. Is it true? I don’t want to spend extra money on my purchase.****
This product is powered by USB or battery.
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement cord for this? It doesn’t work when the cord is plugged in, but does work when using batteries.****
It’s the same type of plugin as a tablet or cell phone. You really should contact the maker for a replacement, unless it’s not new.
Can i use an old smart phone charger with the included usb cable, or must i use one of the newer “fast charge” bases with more amps?****
Neither, it charges with a DC charger or you can just put in new batteries.
Can the sounds be combined?****
You can only play one track at a time.

I misspoke on my previous answer to you. The Unit has a UBS connection so you do need another plug. But that is not so that is will run all night. It has timer for 30/60/90 min. Is “constant on” an option, or does it always “time out” after the preset time?****
You can have it on constantly if you do not hit the timer button.
Is there an option to let it stay on throughout the night?****
You can let it stay on for as long as you want and then turn it off. Or you can use the timer for 30, 60, or 90 minute use.
Can this be used as a speaker too?****
No, there is no input for external sound sources.
Can you play multiple sounds at the same time?****
You can play several different sounds, but not at the same time. I’m not sure why anyone would want to play more than one at a time…it’s an awesome sound machine, I highly recommend it, I use mine every night before falling asleep, I like the surf sounds but there are so many nice ones to choose from.
If the power goes out will this seamlessly switch to using the batteries?****
It should automatically switch that’s the purpose of the batteries but you can simply unplug it and see if it does that.
