Safety Instructions

- This product is for indoor use only, please do not use it outdoors.

- Electricity can cause personal injury and property damage if handled improperly. If you are not sure about any part of these instructions, please do not attempt to repair by yourself but seek professional assistance from a qualified electrician.
Installing Your Smart Light Switch
Initial operation
- Please ensure the power at the circuit breaker is off before wiring.
- A neutral wire is required for this product, please confirm the wall box contains a neutral wire (typically white). If there is no neutral wire in the wall box, please try other location in your house or seek a professional electrician to install the switch.
- The wire colors described in this user manual are the standard colors, which might differ in some houses.
- Please confirm the wire nuts are securely fastened to each wire.
- Please make sure the Wi-Fi signal near the installed location is strong.
- Tools you need: screwdriver, pliers and electrical tester.
Installing Steps
- Turn off the original switch firstly; turn off the circuit breaker and press the switch to check if the power is off.
- Turn off the original switch and remove the existing wall plate; turn on the power of the circuit breaker and use an electrical tester to check which wire is line wire.
- Turn off the circuit breaker and use the electrical tester to test if the power is off.
- Ensure the power is off; pull the original switch out and put the wiring labels on the relevant wires.
- Use the slotted screwdriver to pry open the Govee smart switch plate, and then connect the switch wires to the wires in the wall box with the wire nuts.
- Mount the switch with the provided screws and snap the socket panel on it.
- Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker. The switch is ready to work when the red light turns on.
Pairing Your Smart Switch with the Govee Home App
What You Need:
- A Wi-Fi router supporting the 2.4GHz and 802.11 b/g/n bands. The 5GHz band is not supported.
- A smartphone or tablet running iOS 9.3 (or above) or Android 4.3 (or above).
- Download the Govee Home app from the App Store (iOS devices) or Google Play (Android devices).
- Please ensure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi and the internet works well.
- Open the App, tap the “+” icon in the top right corner, and search “H5001”.
- Tap the device icon and follow on-screen instructions to complete the pairing.
Troubleshooting
