Prerequisites
You have a modern (3- or 5- wire) electrical installation (set up after 1985).
You have a wireless smart hub (552-00001) and a home network with internet
connection. You have at least one 230 V powered connected Zigbee® product (see
the minimum setup on page 1). You have the following tools: a drill and
screwdrivers. Before you get up and running, it is recommended to check the
website page on the Niko Home Control for traditional wiring ecosystem. You
can access this page by scanning the QR code on page 1.
Difficulty level
Installation of the wireless motion detector is easy.
Estimated duration
Between 10 and 20 minutes. This product must be installed in accordance with
the national regulations.
Hardware installation
- Attach the wall mount to the wall at a height of 2.5 meters. The mount can be used on a flat surface OR can be attached in a corner of the room (90° angle).
- Unscrew the lid on the bottom of the wireless motion detector and insert the CR2450 battery with the positive side (+) facing upwards.
Wireless smart hub & connected devices
- If you did not yet do so, install and register the wireless smart hub (552-00001). Follow the instructions in the accompanying manual.
- If you did not yet do so, install and pair the connected device(s) that will be controlled by the wireless motion detector. Scan the QR code on page 1 to see some setup suggestions.
Niko Home app
- Download and install the Niko Home app on your smartphone. Log in and, if prompted, upgrade your Niko Home Control installation.
- Follow the instructions in the app to add the wireless
motion detector to your installation. When prompted, press and hold the button next to the battery for at least 3 seconds. The LED on the front of the motion detector flashes for about 45 seconds after which the device is added and can be programmed using the app.
Finish hardware installation
- Reattach the lid to the wireless motion detector using the screw.
- 8 Slide the motion detector vertically onto the wall mount. Make sure the mount’s clips fit into the cut-outs of the motion detector
Start using your installation
Start using your Niko Home Control installation. Use the app to program your
devices to give them another function or have them start a routine. Check the
online manual and ecosystem to get inspired.
Battery replacement
Detection area
Remove the wireless motion detector from the wall by vertically lifting it up
and then by moving it away from the wall.
Battery replacement
Unscrew the lid on the bottom of the wireless motion detector to remove and
replace the battery with a type CR2450 battery. A new battery will last
approximately 2 years at 10 actuations per day.
Detection area
When mounted at a height of 2.5 meters the wireless motion detector can detect
motion up to 5 meters away within an angle of 110°.
Warnings regarding installation
The installation of products that will permanently be part of the electrical
installation and which include dangerous voltages, should be carried out by a
qualified installer and in accordance with the applicable regulations. This
user manual must be presented to the user. It should be included in the
electrical installation file and it should be passed on to any new owners.
Additional copies are available on the Niko website or via Niko customer
services.
Environment
This product and/or the batteries provided cannot be disposed of in non-
recyclable waste. Take your discarded product to a recognised collection
point. Just like producers and importers, you too play an important role in
the promotion of sorting, recycling and reuse of discarded electrical and
electronic equipment. To finance the rubbish collection and waste treatment,
the government levies recycling charges in certain cases (included in the
price of this product).
