Initial Device Setup via Ethernet Pairing

NOTE: The following application uses a WAP-60AX in Extender Mode along with a Comtrend Gateway to create a proper connection. For instructions on additional setup applications, please visit us online using the QR Code at the bottom of Page 2.

  1. Setup the WAP-60AX by plugging the power adapter into it and connecting it to an outlet. Press the Power Button to the ON position (IN). Set the WAP-60AX to Repeater Mode by sliding the AP/Repeater Switch to the down position.
  2. Use the included Ethernet cable to connect one end to the LAN port of the Comtrend Gateway and the other end into the LAN port of the WAP-60AX. Wait until the WAP-60AX’s Repeater LED is solid GREEN. This could take anywhere between 2-8 minutes. Once solid GREEN, the WAP-60AX is successfully paired with the Comtrend Gateway.
  3. After the WAP-60AX is paired, move it to the nearest outlet where additional WiFi coverage is needed. Once it is plugged in, the Repeater LED should light up solid GREEN. This may take another 2-8 minutes.
  4. If you are setting up more than one WAP-60AX, then please follow instructions 1-3 with the additional WAP-60AX units

Your WAP-60AX is now set up! Enjoy!

Troubleshooting

The following information should help you diagnose basic setup or installation problems.
POWER Indicator is OFF: If the Power LED goes off, please make sure that your power outlet is working properly (perhaps by testing with another device). Then, plug in your WAP-60AX again and make sure to press the Power Button to the ON position (IN).

2.5G ETHERNET LED is OFF: If the 2.5G ETHERNET LED fails to light up, check that the LAN port of the WAP-60AX unit is connected firmly to the LAN port of the other device. To check the condition of the Ethernet cable, use another cable to test the same connection.

WPS LED is OFF: If the WPS LED(s) fails to light up, press and release the WPS Button on the device setup in AP Mode. Within two minutes press and release the WPS Button on the device setup in Repeater Mode (during this time both WPS LEDs will blink). Upon successful connection, the WPS LEDs will light up solid GREEN on both of the Wireless Access Points.

AP LED is OFF: WAP-60AX in Repeater Mode. Set the Wireless Access Point to AP Mode by sliding the AP/Repeater Switch to the up position.

REPEATER LED is OFF: WAP-60AX in AP Mode. Set the Wireless Access Point to Repeater Mode by sliding the AP/Repeater Switch to the down position.

RESET: If you have tried the above and are still experiencing problems, you can reset both devices to factory default by using a pin to push in the Reset Button for more than 5 seconds, then release the button.
