BFOUR BF-20 Smart Meat Thermometer Warning Instruction

Read and follow all the safety instructions

  • Keep the product away from children.
  • Do not put the product inside a microwave.
  • Do not touch the probe or wire during or after use directly, because it’s hot. Please wear heat-insulating gloves to avoid burns.
  • The needle probe and wire probe are not waterproof. Do not soak either in water or place them inside a dishwasher. To clean, rinse them gently with water, then wipe until completely dry.
  • Do not use corrosive chemicals when cleaning the product.

Using Your Device(In stand-alone operation mode)

Temperature Detection

  1. Clean the probe and insert it into the meat. Probe insertion location depends on the meat being cooked
  2. Then, insert the probe cable into the probe port on the meat thermometer. Place the food into the oven grill..etc
  3. Long press the Switch button for 3s3 to power On/off
  4. The internal temperature of the probed food will display”MEAT TEMP.”

Alert Setting

  • Press the “Set”button to enter the Alert Setting mode. The “SET TEMP” icon will then blink.
  • Press”-“”+”to set the target temperature.
  • Press the”Set” button again to complete Alert Setting.
  • When the food temperature reaches the preset temperature level, the meat thermometer will sound an alarm. If you have connected to the Grill 5.0 app, you will also receive an alert notification.
  • Press the switch button on the meat thermometer to turn off the alarm

Set a Timer

Count Down Timer

  1. In the temperature mode, press the Set button, do not press the +- button, and then press Set to switch to Next probe; press again to switch to the timer.At this time, the Timer Icon will start to flash.
  2. At this time, press the “+,-” key to start setting the time, An inverted triangle icon will be displayed after the time.
  3. After setting the countdown time, press OK to finish, and the device will start the countdown
    Note: The maximum countdown timer setting is 99 hours and 59 minutes.

Count Up Timer

  1. Press the Set button to switch to TIMER mode. If completed correctly, the timer icon will start to flash
  2. Don’t press the “+-” button, just press the confirm button to start timing. Don’t press the “+-” button, just press the confirm button to start timing. At this time, a positive triangle icon will appear behind the time.

Connect Your Device with the Grill5.0 APP

What you need
A smartphone or tablet running IOS8.0(or ablove)or Android 4.3(or ablove)

Connection instruction

  1. Download the Grill 5.0APP from the APP Store(Ios Devices) or Google Pay(Android devices).
  2. Turn up Bluetooth on your devices,GPS positioning needs to be turned on for the first connection.
  3. Open the hcitool scan button, and click the device picture after scanning the device to complete the connection

  1. You must make sure GPS and Bluetooth is opening. Because it will affect the connection.
  2. Our App can not connect 2 or more phones at the same time.
  3. You can scan the QR code to watch the video on how to connect and set the App.

Note:

  • Click “OK/All Alarm”on smartphone is close the current alarm or close all the current alarms.
  • The alarm interval is 5 minutes and can be customized on the APP.
  • The food target temperature and temperature range can be customized.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Q: Why does our App need to ask for your location (GPS)? It is safe?
A: Because our app use Bluetooth function, and this is abided by the Framework Agreement of Android and iOS. Any Bluetooth app must request location permission. Our application won’t ask and use your WLAN/Celluar, so turn on the location just because the Android and iOS’s rule. We are unable see and receive your location.

Q: What is the PIN code? Why can’t connect to the APP?
A: You can’t connect devices on your phone’s system via PIN. App download and use requires acceptance of location terms. Connection method is to open the device first, then open the “Grill 5.0” App on the phone, search through the search page, click “hcitool scan”, and search for “Grill BT5.0” in a few seconds, click to enter use.

Q: Why not wireless?
A: Wireless refers to the Bluetooth connection between the device and the phone, not the connection between the probe and the device. This has the advantage of not having to stare at the temperature display of the device all the time
Q: Why always disconnect the Bluetooth connection?
A: The product uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology with Bluetooth 5.0 module (TI‘s CC2640). In an open and unobstructed environment, it can reach a distance of 70 meters; but it does not penetrate the wall well. The characteristic of this Bluetooth technology is that as long as the device is connected, no matter the signal strength, it can be used normally.
Q: LLL on the display
A: Temperature exceeds range: 33℉~572℉ (1℃~300℃)or the probe is damaged
Q: Why does the display keep flashing after setting the temperature range?
A: Only when the current temperature is within the temperature range, the display can return to normal. If it is lower or higher than the temperature range, the device and mobile phone will alarm with the flashing display.
Q: Why no data is displayed after power on?
A: If the probe is not plugged into the socket after powering on, the device will not display temperature and auto power off after 3 minutes

Notes on the probe

  1. Do not put the probes and cable directly in fire flame.
  2. The temperature probes of this meat thermometer can’t be submersible for cleaning.
  3. Clean and dry the probe thoroughly after each use with a damp cloth.
  4. Always insert the probe upright into the thickest part of the meat while avoiding fatty or bony areas. Avoid direct contact between the open flame and the probe and cable to cause excessive temperature and damage to the probe.

NOTE

If you want to confirm the accuracy of the probe or equipment, it is recommended that you test in ice water or boiling water. If you think the temperature of the probe is not accurate, please contact us at edison@szbfour.com, we will provide free warranty or replacement service
