Important Safety Instruction

Thank you for purchasing the MVANTE BAR MU PERA Sound bar. Please read this user manual carefully and keep for future reference.

  • The illustrations and screens in this manual are for instructional purposes only.
  • The company names and product names in this manual are the trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective companies.
  • Software may be revised and updated without prior notice.
  • In this manual, iOS and Android mobile devices are collectively referred to as “mobile devices”. The specific type of mobile device is noted in explanations as needed.

Warning

The lightning flash within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert you to the presence of uninsulated dangerous voltage within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute an electric shock to a person or persons.   1. To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for prolonged lime periods or a sudden high volume level.
  2. Do not leave the device unattended. Switch off the device whenever it is not in use.
  3. The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external remote control system, other than the branded remote, or as advised in the user manual.
  4. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  5. Before operating this system, check the voltage of this system to see if it is identical to the voltage of your local power supply.
  6. The unit should not be impeded by covering the ventilation opening with items such as newspaper, table-cloths, curtains etc. Make sure that there are at least 20 cm of space above and at least 5 cm of space on each side of the unit.
  7. The apparatus must not be exposed to dripping or splashing liquids and that objects filled with liquids, such as vases, must not be placed on the apparatus.
  8. To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose this equipment to direct heat, rain, moisture or dust.
  9. Do not place this unit near any water sources e.g. taps, bathtubs, washing machines or swimming pools. Ensure that you place the unit on a dry, stable surface.
  10. Do not place this unit close to a strong magnetic field. This may damage the system.
  11. Do not place the unit on a amplifier or receiver.
  12. Do not place this unit in a damp area as the moisture will affect the life of electric components.
  13. Do not attempt to clean the unit with chemical solvents as this might damage the finish. Wipe with a clean, dry or slightly damp cloth.
  14. When removing the power plug from the wall outlet, always pull directly on the plug, never pull on the cord.
  15. Depending on the electromagnetic waves used by a television broadcast, if a TV is turned on near this unit while it is also on, there may be a disturbance on the TV screen. Neither this unit nor the TV is malfunctioning. If you see such disturbance, keep this unit some distance away from the TV set.
  16. The mains plug is used to disconnect the device, the disconnected device should remain readily operable.

Important Safety Instructions

  1. Read these instructions carefully and follow accordingly.
  2. Do not place this apparatus under running water. It may adversely affect the electronic components inside
  3. Clean only with dry cloth.
  4. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
  5. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heaters, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  6. Do not damage the power cord by walking over it or pinching it, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles or at the point where they exit from the apparatus.
  7. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
  8. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
  9. Ensure the servicing is done by a qualified service personal. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, for example, when the power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture. Does not operate normally, or has been dropped and is not functioning properly.
  10. The AC plug is used to disconnect the device; the disconnected device should remain readily operable. In order to disconnect the apparatus from the AC power completely, the AC plug must be removed from the AC outlet completely.

Preparation for Use

Unpacking and Set Up

  • Remove the Sound bar from the carton and remove all packing material from the Sound bar. Save the packing material, if possible, in case the Sound bar needs to be serviced or transported. The original carton and packing material is the only safe way to pack your Sound bar to protect it from damage in-transit.

  • Place your Sound bar on a level surface such as a table, desk or shelf, conveniently nearby an AC outlet, out of direct sunlight, and away from sources of excess heat,
    dirt, dust, moisture, humidity or vibration.

  • Unwind the Line cord connecting the AC adapter and extend it to its full length.

Protect Your Furniture
This model is equipped with non-skid rubber ‘feet’ to prevent the product from moving when you operate the controls. These ‘feet’ are made from non-migrating rubber material specially formulated to avoid leaving any marks or stains on your furniture. However certain types of oil based furniture polishes, wood preservatives, or cleaning sprays may cause the rubber ‘feet’ to soften, and leave marks or a rubber residue on the furniture. To prevent any damage to your furniture we strongly recommend that you purchase small self-adhesive felt pads, available at hardware stores and home improvement center everywhere, and apply these pads to the bottom of the rubber ‘feet’ before you place the unit.
Power Source
This soundbar is designed to operate on a normal AC Power source. For India, it works on a normal operating voltage of 11 0V-240V 50hz/60Hz. Do not attempt to operate the Sound bar on any other power source. You could cause damage to the Soundbar that is not covered by your warranty.
Important Notes

  • This sound bar was specially developed for LED/LCD/Plasma TV’s: It should not be used in combination with CRTTVs (Cathode Ray Tube TV’s) in order to avoid image interference.
  • Before turning on the power for the first time, make sure the sound bar is plugged to power outlet.
  • For safety reasons, do not remove any covers or attempt to gain access to the inside of the product. Refer any servicing to qualified personnel.
  • Do not attempt to remove any screws, or open the casing of the unit; there are no user-serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

Remote Control

  1. Standby mode for power on/off.

  2. PAIR A): Press and hold it for more than 2 seconds to disconnect or re-connect to the paired device under BT mode. (When disconnection, the blue LED light is blinking, when re-connected the last paired device, the blue LED light is steady on with a beep). B): Press and hold it for more than 2 seconds to enter network pairing mode under WIFI (The white LED light is blinking in pairing)

  3. +Volume +: Master Volume up step by step by short-press, continuously master volume up by long-press. (The volume total value is 18, default value is 10, when soundbar is standby, and the volume value setting can be memorized. When soundbar is powered off, it is not memorized.)

  4. Pre button: Previous program by short-press it (Only work under USB&BT input source).

  5. Volume -: Master Volume down step by step by short-press, continuously master volume down by long-press. {The volume total value is 18, default value is 10,
    when soundbar is standby, and the volume value setting can be memorized. When soundbar is powered off, it is not memorized.)

  6. “Alexa” voice wake button: short-press it to wake up ALEXA voice control system

  7. TR+: Treble volume up to maximum 4db by short-press or long-press. (LED lights right when TREBLE volume increases. Default as 0db, one LED lights on in the middle.)

  8. TR-: Treble volume down to maximum 4db by short-press or long-press. (LED lights left when TREBLE volume decreases. Default as 0db, one LED lights on in the middle.)

  9. INPUT: Input source by short-press it (BT/AUX/OPT/HDMI (ARC)/USB/WIFI), Note: LED brightness is reduced by half when sound bar is not operated.

  10. Reset: Press and hold the button more than 3 seconds to set functions to manufacturing defaults. After the reset is successful, the corresponding source LED light flashes once, the volume reset is defaulted as value 10, treble and bass reset is defaulted as mid-tone value 0db.

  11. Next button: Next program by short-press it {Only work under USB & BT input source).

  12. Ml Play or pause by short-press it (Only work under USB and BT input source).

  13. MUTE: Short-press it to mute mode, source LED light blink slowly, press MUTE again or VOLUME+/- to unmute.

  14. MUSIC / NEWS: Select the MUSIC/NEWS EQ effect.

  15. BASS +: Bass volume up to maximum 4db by short-press or long-press. ((LED lights right when BASS volume increases. Default as 0db, one LED lights on in the middle.) 16: BASS -: Bass volume down to maximum 4db by short-press or long-press. {LED lights left when BASS volume decreases. Default as 0db, one LED lights on in the middle.) 17: MOVIE / 3D: Select the MOVIE/3D EQ effect.

Special Note:

  1. When the soundbar is connected to a Bluetooth device, the next Bluetooth device cannot search and connect to this sound bar unless the last Bluetooth device automatically exits. You have to long press the remote control “PAIR” button to forcibly exit the previous Bluetooth device before you can discover and connect to this soundbar for next bluetooth device. 2: Press the remote control “PAIR” button for the second time to connect back to the last connected Bluetooth device.

Operating range of the remote control

  • When the unit is mounted on a wall, point the remote control at the remote control sensor on the panel. The provided Remote Control allows the unit to be operated from a distance.
  • Even if the Remote Control is operated within the effective range 26.2 feet (8m), remote control operation may be impossible if there are any obstacles between the unit and the remote control.
  • If the Remote Control is operated near other products which generate infrared rays, or if other remote control device using infra-red rays are used near the unit, it may operate incorrectly. Table Placement

  • Place the soundbar horizontally on a solid surface, such as a TV unit or shelves and align it centrally with the TV screen.
  • For best sound output and good airflow around the soundbar, place your sound bar as shown on the right.
  • Do not stack the soundbar directly with other devices, otherwise; it may cause result in failure due to vibration.
  • Do not apply force to it when moving the sound bar, otherwise; it may damage the speaker or the parts covered with steel grill.

Mount on the wall

Follow the steps below to mount the soundbar on the wall

  1. Make 2 holes on the wall with distance same as the wall bracket on the soundbar
  2. Put the plastic anchors onto the wall and secure the screws to the plastic clip, do not tighten the screws all the way make sure leave some space
  3. Attached the 2 EVA pads onto the wall mount backet. This will make sure that there is enough room between the wall and the soundbar outlet, minimum 3.5mm
  4. Once the screws securely fastened, hang the sound bar over by inserting the screws onto the wall mount bracket

Using the Soundbar If you don’t feel confident to correctly and securely wall-mount the sound bar, Seek the assistance of an experienced person or professional. Install the speaker on a vertical, fast, reinforced area of wall. For plaster walls, it is recommended to screw into wall studs for greater security. For optimum performance, allow at least 25mm/1 “distance between the soundbar and the TV.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Using voice commands (Amazon Alexa) to operate the device

You can talk to Amazon Alexa on your phone. Use Alexa to play music, listen to the news, check the weather, and control smart home devices and more. To use Amazon Alexa, firstly you must have an Amazon account and your soundbar must be connected to the WIFI network mode. Use the “boAt Aavante Smart” application to enter your Amazon account information and login to the service. With the correct language commands, Alexa can do the following:

For example, simply command:

  • Adjust voice: “Alexa, turn up the volume” “Alexa, turn down the volume”
  • Listen to Music streams: “Alexa, play some jazz music”
  • Operation broadcast: “Alexa, play next song” “Alexa, stop the music” “Alexa, what is this song?”
  • Check the weather: “Alexa, what’s the weather?”
  • Listen to news: “Alexa, Check live cricket scores.”

Note:

  1. Amazon Alexa supports English as well as Hindi language. Just say, “Alexa please switch to Hindi”.
  2. Services are limited to specific areas.
  3. you may need to subscrible to listen to Amazon Music or Amazon Kindle on your phone. For more information, visit Amazon.com
  4. for information about other media services, visit the websites of their service providers.
  5. this service may not be available in some countries or regions
  6. some functions may require third-party service agreements.
  7. to avoid unexpected or incorrect reactions from Alexa, or to protect your privacy, light touch the MIC MUTE button on soundbar to disable the microphone.
  8. to enable or call Alexa, you can call “ALEXA”, or press the” • “on the remote, or touch the” O” on the soundbar.

How to use Alexa on the soundbar connected to your phone?

  1. After soundbar gets switched on, use “INPUT” button on the remote or soundbar to switch input source to WIFI mode.
  2. long-press (Alexa) voice button to enter network mode, the white LED light flashes with a prompt tone to remind entering the network.
  3. Then open your phone APP and configure the network according to the prompts of the mobile phone APP. WIFI connection can be used only. (Note: the phone needs to connect to WIFI before opening the APP.
  4. After the network is successfully configured, press the button “O” to wake up ALEXA manually. The cyan LED light will be shown in the waking up process, and the blue LED light will be shown after wake up is successful.
  5. the automatic wakeup word “ALEXA” can also wake up the ALEXA voice control system.
  6. If WIFI disconnects, ALEXA prompts “Sorry, your device lost connection” and red LED light will be shown
  7. ALEXA cannot be waked up when MIC MUTE is disabled.

Set Up via boAt Aavante Smart

  1. Download the “boAt Aavante Smart” APP
  2. Mobile phone connected to wireless LAN (Must be WiFi network, mobile phone 4G network is not available)
  3. Open the boAt Aavante Smart app (follow up the illustrated instructions to set up the APP in the following manner) 4, Can use ALEXA function after setting up instructions

Playing Audio via Input (AUX) Connection

  1. Firstly connect the sound bar to your PC, laptop, smart-phone, TV, or other audio devices by using an AUX cable provided. Make sure that these devices have both AUX IN and AUX out terminals.
  2. Then short-press the “INPUT” button on the soundbar or on remote control to switch the sound bar to AUX mode, once the sound bar is connected to AUX mode, the LED light will indicate “PURPLE” color. Playback can only be controlled on your connected device.
    Note: For some computers, you may need to access the audio control panel to manually set the sound bar as shown steps on above.

Playing Audio via Input (OPTICAL) Connection

  • emove the cap of optical cable (keep the cap for the future use); check the direction of the plug. Connect the sound bar and TV with the optical cable.
  • Use this mode to play music from a TV with optical digital output on the sound bar. In TV sound settings, select the soundbar optical connection (output for audio). When the optical cable is connected, the TV audio output is set to PCM format.
  • The TV must have an optical digital output. Use the supplied optical cable to make the connection as follows:
  1. Connect the optical cable to the optical digital output of your TV.
  2. Connect the optical cable to the optical digital input of your sound bar.
  3. Switch on the TV set and the soundbar. Set the connected TV to “PCM Stereo”. Set the audio output mode as or .
  4. Start playing on the TV.
  5. Using either “INPUT” button on the sound bar or on the remote control to activiate the OPTICAL mode. Once connected, the “ORANGE” LED light will be indicated on the soundbar. Playback can only be controlled on your connected device.
  6. Use the volume buttons to adjust the volume to your requirements.

Note:

  1. When connecting a device such as a TV/Set-top box/ DVD/ game console with optical cable, set the audio output mode of the device to PCM mode (digital optical output).
  2. Do not bend the optical cable, otherwise the cable inside will be damaged.

Playing Audio via Input HDMI (ARC) Connection

  1. The sound bar supports HDMl(ARC) with audio return channel (ARC). You can hear the TV audio through your sound bar by using a single HDMl(ARC) cable. But on condition that your TV is ARC compliant.
  2. Using a high speed HDMl(ARC) cable, connect the HDMl(ARC) connector on the sound bar to the HDMl(ARC) connector on the TV. The HDMl(ARC) connector on the TV might be labeled differently. For details, see the user manual of your TV.
  3. Press “INPUT” button on the remote control or on sound bar to select HDMI (ARC) mode. After connection, the LED light is indicating “YELLOW” color. Different TV might be different setting, please refer to your TV User Manual.
  4. Use the volume buttons to adjust the volume to your requirements.
  5. You can also change the audio settings by using the relevant buttons on the remote control.

Note:

  1. When connecting a device such as a TV/Set-top box/DVD/ game console with HDMl(ARC) cable, set the audio output mode of the device to PCM mode <digital HDMI (ARC) output>.
  2. The TV is connected to a HDMI(ARC) port with sound bar. Different TVs might have different setup menus, but the operation approach is the same.
  3. If need arises to connect set-up box meanwhile, please firstly connect the HDMl(ARC) connector and paired to the sound bar. Then connect the set-top box. boAt Aavante Bar Aaupera Home Theatre and Smart Soundbar-fig14

There is no sound from

sound bar-

HDMI TV (ARC) Mode

Incorrect HDMI cable is used causing no signal to be sent to soundbar.

Incorrect input mode is selected.

| 1. Make sure that the user connected TV and sound bar by a 19-core HD ARC cable.

2. The sound bar and TV are connected through TV {ARC) port output; make sure that the TV is ARC compliant.

3. Set the TV to HDMI ARC (CEC)

Set the audio output mode of TV to PCM format. (Or refer to your TV user manual)


There is no sound from sound bar

{OPTICAL Mode)

| OPTICAL cable might be damaged and no signal is received by the soundbar due to a failed connection and incorrect operation mode selected.| ****

1. Replace the OPTICAL cable with a new one to connect.

Make sure the digital audio output setting on the playback device to PCM format. Since the output format of our sound bar is PCM, if it is used, the decoding format of TV or other devices will be adjusted to PCM state.
The sound is distorted or echoed|

TV volume is not muted

| If you play audio from TV through the sound bar, make sure that the TV is muted

A device cannot connect the sound bar or the unit cannot be connected to a Bluetooth device

Bluetooth function of the device is not activated, not paired or connected correctly.

| Restart the sound bar and try pairing again. You have not enabled the Bluetooth function of the device: see the user manual of the device on how to enable the function and correctly connected the device.
