be used by those familiar with the instructions below.
Important safety instructions
Danger to certain categories of persons
There is an increased risk of injury for children and people with reduced
capabilities:
-
This appliance may be used by children (at least 8 years of age) and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge,
provided they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance and fully understand all dangers and safety precautions involved. -
Children must not be permitted to carry out any cleaning or maintenance work on the appliance unless they are supervised and at least 8 years of age.
-
The appliance and its power cord must be kept well away from children under 8 at all times.
-
Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance.
-
Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children – these materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. of suffocation.
Risk of electric shock
The device is powered by electricity, so there is always a risk of electric
shock. The following precautions are therefore to be taken:
-
Every time the appliance is used, the main body including the power cord, as well as any attachment, fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, or if excessive force has been used to pull the power cord, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.
-
The appliance should only be connected to a socket installed in accordance with the regulations. Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked
on the rating label. -
Because of its high power consumption, the kettle must not be operated with any type of extension cable or multi-plug connector.
-
Always remove the plug from the wall socket
– if the appliance is not used for an extended period of time,
– in case of any malfunction,
– before cleaning the appliance. -
When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself.
-
Do not touch the plug with wet hands.
-
The electrical connections in the base must be protected at all times against possible contact with water.
-
Do not clean the water container and the base with liquids and do not immerse them; do not clean under running water.
-
The kettle may only be operated with the base provided with the appliance.
-
Never remove the water container from the base (or replace it) while the appliance is switched on.
Danger of burns and scalding
-
The exterior surfaces become hot during use and will remain so for some time afterward.
-
Allow the appliance to cool down sufficiently before inserting or removing the tea filter.
-
Do not leave the kettle unattended during operation. Use only pure water when filling the container to the desired level, observing the Min. (0.5 l) and Max. (1.0 l for tea or 1.7 l for water only) markings. Overfilling the container may cause danger if boiling water is forced out.
-
For boiling-water only, always remove the tea filter.
-
Do not exceed 70 °C when reheating tea.
Caution: Do not bring to a boil, as the liquid may foam over. -
Also beware of the danger of scalding from hot steam being emitted. Therefore, do not touch any parts of the appliance except the handle during use.
-
During the boiling process and when pouring out the hot water, the lid must be kept closed at all times.
-
Allow the water container to cool down before refilling.
-
Descale the appliance regularly. If the machine is heavily calcified, there is a risk of water splashing out of the spout.
Lack of hygiene
Lack of hygiene may result in germs forming inside the appliance:
- Clean the appliance thoroughly before using it for the first time.
- Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
- The appliance must be descaled at regular intervals. Clean the water container as necessary with a damp cloth.
- Detailed information on cleaning the appliance can be found in the section Cleaning and care.
Danger of damage to the unit
Incorrect handling of the appliance can cause damage:
- Always let the appliance cool down first before re-filling with fresh water.
- Always place the unit on a dry, level, non-slip, and heat-resistant surface, which is impervious to contact with the rubber feet.
- Do not operate the appliance below a hanging cupboard or similar object; there is a risk that escaping steam may be trapped underneath.
- Do not let the power cord hang free.
- Do not kink or pinch the power cord.
Keep both the cord and the appliance itself well away from heat sources (eg hot plates, gas flames).
Intended use
-
The appliance must only be used for heating clean, fresh water and for making hot beverages.
-
Any use other than that described in these instructions must be considered improper and may lead to personal injury or material damage.
-

Thermal safety cut-out
The pre-set thermal safety cut-out protects the heating element from overheating should the appliance be erroneously switched on without any water, or if the heating plate is calcified. Should this occur, all indicators are flashing. In such a case, the appliance must be allowed to cool down or must be descaled, before it is switched on again.
Automatic switch-off
- Unless the ‘keep-warm’ mode has been selected, the kettle will switch off automatically around 3 minutes after the last operation.
- In the ‘keep-warm’ mode, it switches off after 60 minutes.
- To re-activate the appliance, place the container on the base, or press the buttons WATER START/STOP or TEA START/STOP.
Before using it for the first time
- Unpack the appliance completely and remove all packaging materials and stickers.
- To clean the kettle, boil (with the tea filter in place) and discard the first filling of water.
Operation
‘Silent’ function∙
If the Tea Strength button is pressed for more than 3 seconds, the beep
signals are deactivated. In this case, all acoustic signals listed in these
instructions are also switched off.
- Pressing the button again for more than 3 seconds will cancel the ‘Silent’ function.
General remarks
- Connect the appliance to the mains. A beep signal is heard and the current water temperature in the container (≥ 20 °C) is shown on the left of the display.
- The appliance is in standby mode and ready for use. The display goes out after 3 minutes of non-use.
- To re-activate the appliance, place the container on the base, or press the buttons WATER START/STOP or TEA START/STOP.
- When selecting temperatures below 100 °C, the heating process takes place in steps, to ensure that the temperature selected is not exceeded. In this case, the heating phase will take a bit longer, but it also ensures that the selected temperature is not exceeded so that the tea can develop its full aroma.
- If the current temperature inside the container exceeds the temperature selected, the appliance cannot be started.
- Temperatures below 40 °C cannot be selected.
Quick-boil function
When placing the water container onto the base and pressing the WATER
START/STOP button, the water is heated to 100 °C without the need to set a
temperature. Pressing WATER START/STOP again stops the heating process
Heating water
- Remove the water container from its base and open the lid. Remove the tea filter.
- Fill the container with water to the desired level, observing the Min (0.5 l) and Max (1.7 l for heating water) markings.
- Close the lid.
- Place the container back on its base.
- Insert the plug into a suitable wall socket.
- The display shows the current water temperature inside the container.
- Turn the KeepWarm control to select the desired temperature.
- Press the WATER START/STOP button. The button lights up blue. The selected brewing temperature (BREW TEMP) flashes briefly in the display. The water is now heated to the selected temperature. The current water temperature is shown on the display.
- Once the pre-set temperature has been reached, the WATER START/STOP button light goes out, three beep signals are heard and the current temperature is shown on the display.
- The appliance goes into stand-by mode. The kettle will switch off automatically around 3 minutes after the last operation.
- The boiling process may be interrupted by pressing the WATER START/STOP button.
- To pour hot water, remove the container from its base.
- To prevent hot steam from being emitted, ensure that the lid remains closed while pouring out the water.
- Do not leave any residual water in the container.
Making tea
Preparing the appliance
- Remove the water container from its base and open the lid. Take out the tea filter by its ring, pulling it up with gentle force.
- Fill the container with water to the desired level, observing the Min (0.5 l) and Max (1.0 l for making tea) markings.
- Take off the tea filter lid and put the required amount of tea into the filter. Replace the lid, pushing it down.
- Fit the filter to the upper part of the mounting in the container, so that its arms securely enclose the mounting.
- Close the lid and replace the container on the base.
- Start tea preparation either by program selection or individual setting.
Brewing tea
Using a program
- Prepare the kettle as described in the section Preparing the appliance.
- Press the Tea Type button repeatedly until the desired type of tea is shown.
- Press the Tea Strength button repeatedly until the desired tea strength is shown.
Mild = mild tea, short steeping time
Medium = medium strength and steeping time
Strong = strong tea, long steeping time
Tea programs – Steeping times and temperatures
The optimal infusion times largely depend on the type of tea used and on
personal taste.
The tea program provides for the following pre-set temperatures and steeping
times (mild-strong):
BLACK | black tea | 100 °C | 3-5 mins |
---|---|---|---|
GREEN | tea | 80 °C | 2-3 mins |
WHITE | white tea | 85 °C | 2-3 mins |
HERBAL | herbal tea | 95 °C | 4-5 mins |
OOLONG | Oolong tea | 90 °C | 3-4 mins |
- Confirm the selection by pressing the TEA START/STOP button. The button lights up blue.
- The kettle heats the water in intervals to the programmed temperature.
- Once the temperature has been reached, the heating element switches off, and the tea filter comes down.
- Once the steeping time has elapsed, the filter moves up again, beep signals are heard and the appliance goes into stand-by mode.
- This process can be interrupted anytime by pressing the TEA START/STOP button.
- Pour the tea and allow the appliance to cool down. Then take out the tea filter by its ring, empty and rinse it. If necessary, rinse the water container (see Cleaning and care).
Preparing tea using manual settings (Custom)
-
Prepare the kettle, as described in the section Preparing the appliance.
-
First press the Tea Type button repeatedly until Custom lights up. Turn the KeepWarm knob and set the desired temperature (40 – 100°C).
-
Now turn the Timer control and set the desired steeping time (0.5-15 Min).
-
Press the TEA START/STOP button.
-
The kettle heats the water in intervals to the selected temperature.
-
Once the temperature has been reached, the heating element switches off, and the tea filter comes down.
-
Once the steeping time has elapsed, the filter moves up again, beep signals are heard and the appliance goes into stand-by mode.
-
Pour the tea and allow the appliance to cool down. Then take out the tea filter by its ring, empty and rinse it. If necessary, rinse the water container (see Cleaning and care).
-
Keep-warm function
-
The kettle comes with a keep-warm function.
-
Once the water is heated or the steeping time has elapsed, the water is automatically kept warm for about 60 minutes. The keep-warm temperature is adjustable from 40-60 °C.
-
To activate the keep-warm function, press the KeepWarm control during the heat-up phase. The control flashes.
Turn the control to select the desired keep-warm temperature and press to confirm.
The keep-warm button turns blue and the keep-warm function is activated once brewing is complete.
The display shows the temperature inside the container and the remaining keep- warm time. -
This function is automatically canceled once the water container is removed from the base.
Continuing the keep-warm function
The keep-warm function can be extended by putting the container back on the
base and pressing the keep warm button.
- The keep-warm function can be canceled by pressing the WATER START/STOP or TEA START/STOP button. Timer function

Power cord wind-up storage
The wind-up power cord storage under the base allows the length of the power cord to be limited during use and to be stored.
Descaling
- Depending on the water quality in your area, lime deposits may build up on the heating element and water container. It is advisable to remove any such deposits at regular intervals.
- Any warranty claim will be null and void if the appliance malfunctions because of insufficient descaling.
- A mixture of 0.5 liters of water and 40 ml of vinegar essence is suitable.
- Pour the descaler in.
- Switch the appliance on and let the solution reach the boiling point.
- Leave it to take effect for a short period.
- To clean the container after descaling, rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- During descaling, ensure sufficient ventilation and do not inhale any vinegar vapors.
- Do not pour descalers down enamel-coated sinks.
Cleaning and care
- Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
- To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the water container and the base with liquids and do not immerse them. Do not clean under running water.
- For cleaning, a slightly damp, lint-free cloth may be used.
- The tea filter may be cleaned under running hot water or can be left inside the container during descaling.
- Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning solutions, and do not use hard brushes for cleaning.
- Depending on the type of tea used, certain discoloration and odor may occur from the appliance or tea filter.
These effects may be minimized by regular cleaning, but cannot be completely avoided.
Sieve
- If necessary, the sieve can be removed from the spout and cleaned with a soft brush. To remove, first, loosen the sieve at the bottom, and then at the top edge.
- Re-insert the sieve afterward – hook it onto the inside of the upper rim first, and then push the lower part into place.
Disposal
**** Devices marked with this symbol must be disposed of separately from your
household waste, as they contain valuable materials which can be recycled.
Proper disposal protects the environment and human health. Your local
