Gallet BAC 415 Saintes Electronic Kitchen Scale
Dear customer, thank you for purchasing our product. Please read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep these instructions including the warranty, the receipt, and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
- The appliance is designed for household and similar use (not for commercial or medical operations)!
- The appliance can use by people (including children) whose physical, sensual, or mental inability or lack of experience and knowledge prevents safe use of the appliance if they are supervised.
- Do not immerse the appliance into the water and wash under running water!
- Acclimatize the scale first if stored at a lower temperature.
- Use the scale horizontally only in places without danger of turning over, and keep the appliance sufficiently far from heat power sources (e.g. oven, stove, fireplace, heat radiators) and strong electro-magnetic field (e.g. microwave oven, radio, mobile phone).
- Do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight, low or high temperatures, and high moisture.
- Unstable or soft pad under the appliance may influence the accuracy of the appliance negatively.
- Protect the scale against dust, moisture, chemicals, and abrupt temperature changes.
- Handle the scale with care not to damage it (do not overload and throw it).
- Do not disassemble the scale and do not remove any components.
- Do not put anything on the scale when storing it; the appliance may get damaged.
- Remove batteries if you will not use the appliance for a longer time.
- Replace leaking batteries, otherwise, the scale may get damaged.
- Dispose of flat batteries in a proper way (see VII. ENVIRONMENT).
- The manufacturer is neither liable for damage caused by improper use of the appliance (e.g. degradation of foods, damage to the appliance etc.) nor for damage caused by failure to observe the safety precautions by operation of the warranty.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
POWER AND REPLACE THE BATTERY
- Battery: 9V (not included)
To replace battery
- Remove the battery compartment cover and attach the new battery to the 9-volt battery snaps. Please take note of the polarity.
TO OPERATE SCALE
- Please put the scale on a hard and flat surface.
- Place bowl(if used) on the scale before turning on the unit.
- Press and release the ON/OFF button to turn on the unit.
- Wait until the LCD shows all information.
To convert weight unit
- If the scale is with both measuring systems of Metric (kilograms, grams) and Imperial (pounds, ounces), you can press UNIT to convert between two systems during the course of weighing.
“ZERO“ or “TARE“ function
To weigh different loads consecutively without removing loads from the scale. Put the first Load on the scale, and get the weight reading. Press the Z/T button to reset the LCD reading to „0“ before adding the next load. Add another item and the display will read the added weight. You can repeat this operation.
Note 1: “ZERO“ function
When the total sum of all loads on the scale ≤ 4 % of the scale´s maxed weight capacity ( 200 g when capacity is 5 kg). LCD will show “0g“ each time Z/T is pressed. Icon “ZERO“ will show on lower left corner of the LCD, indicating the “ZERO“ function is active. Max. weight capacity remains unchanged.
Note 2: “TARA“ function
When the total sum of all loads on the scale > 4 % of the scale´s maxed weight capacity ( 200 g when capacity is 5 kg). LCD will show “0g“ each time Z/T is pressed. Icon “TARE“ will show on upper left corner of the LCD, indicating the “TARE“ function is active. Max. weight capacity is reduced by total weight of all loads.
Alarm timer
- Press T-SET (P7), and the zerro will display on the first position of time reading „0 -: – – “. Use buttons P4 and P5 to set the first value of minutes = decimal digit. To confirm and go to the next digit, press T-SET (P7).
- The zerro will display in the second position „ 0 0: – – “. In the first position, there will be already set value. Use buttons P4 and P5 to set the second value of minute = unit digit. To confirm and go to the next digit, press T-SET (P7).
- The zerro will display in the third position „ 0 0 : 0 – “. In the first and second positions, there will be already set values. Use buttons P4 and P5 to set the first value of seconds = decimal digit. To confirm and go to the next digit, press T-SET (P7).
- The zerro will display in the fourth position „ 0 0 : 0 0 “. On the first, second, and third positions, there will be already set value. Use buttons P4 and P5 to set the second value of seconds = unit digit.
- After setting time span, press T-SET (P7) again to start the count down.
- Press T-SET P(7) to stop counting down and clear the time span.
- For new settings start again from 1).
- When the timer counts down to „00:00“, the alarm will go off in form of a „beep“60 times and then the scale will automatically shut off.
- Max. time span: 99:59
Temperature sensor
- The current temperature is shown at the higher right corner of the LCD.
- Temperature range: 0 ~ +40°C
- Division: 0.5°C
- Temperature readout is only in °C.
Auto shut OFF
- Auto shut-off occurs if the display shows „0“ or the same reading for 2 minutes. The scale will switch off automatically.
Manual shut OFF
- To maximize battery life, always press ON/OFF again to turn off the scale after using.
Warning indicators
- Replace the new battery.
- Scale overload. Remove items to avoid damage. Max. Weight capacity is 5 kg.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Clean the scale with a slightly damp cloth. DO NOT immerse the scale in water or use chemical/abrasive cleaning agents.
- All parts should be cleaned immediately after contact with fats, spices, vinegar and strongly flavored/colored foods. Avoid contact with acids citrus juices.
TROUBLESHOOTING
The device is not working
- Check the rights position of the battery and the polarity.
- When a warning indicator shows „Lo“ replace the battery.
