INSTALLATION
WARNING: Improper wiring of any electrical device can cause fire, serious
injury or death. Always consult a qualified licensed electrician who will
ensure the switch is installed in accordance with local electrical codes and
regulations. Before starting the installation, ensure the power is
disconnected at the circuit breaker and test existing switch with a voltage
tester.
CAUTION:
- Make sure that the power at the circuit breaker is off before wiring.
- A neutral wire is required. Confirm the wall box contains a neutral wire (typically white), Look for a bundle of white wires folded in the back of the switch box Most homes built after 1978 have neutral wires.
- The wire colors indicated in this manual are the common colors and may differ in some homes please contact an electrician if you have different wire colours.
- Ensure the wire conductors are securely fastened to each wire
Single pole connection refers to when l light is controlled by a switch.
The Traveler (brown) wire is not needed for this scenario.
For lights switched from ONE location.
For retrofit applications,
-
Rerove the existing wall plate and screws from the wall after having turned off the power at the circuit breaker and tested the outlet with a voltage tester.

Remove the existing switch from the wall and label the wires with the appropriate stickers included in the box.
-
Ensure these wires are available:
a. Line (black)
b. Ground (green, or yellow/reen)
c. Neutral (white)
d. Load (red) -
Disconnect the wiring from the old switch.

Connect the Smart Switch to the existing wiring:
a Connect Ground (green, A] wire on the switch to the Ground (green)] wire from the switch box
b. Connect the Line (black, E) wire on the switch to the Line (black] the wire from the breaker box
c. Connect the Neutral (white, D) wire on the switch and the Neutral (white) wire coming from the light to the Neutral (white) wire from the breaker box
d. Connect the Load (red, B)} wire on the switch to the Load (red) the wire from the light -
Ensure the included wire connectors are securely fastened to each wire. The Traveler (brown, C) wire needs to be covered with a wire connector even if not in use

Restore power at the circuit breaker switch to test if the switch works.

Insert the switch into the wall and scan the 2D barcode to complete the deice setup

Once the device setup is successful and connected to the app, cover the wall plate with the screws provided.
3-WAY
For lights switched from TWO locations.
1 SMART SWITCH + 1 TRADITIONAL 3-WAY SWITCH

Remove the existing wall plate and screws from the wall after having turned off the power at the circuit breaker and tested the outlet with a voltage tester.

Remove the existing switch from the wall and label the wires with the appropriate stickers included in the box
-
Ensure the wires are available in box l and box 2
Box 1 (wired to electrical box):
a) Neutral (white)
b) Neutral (white] c) Ground (green, or yellow/green)
d) Traveler (brown) x 2
Box 2 (wired to light fixture)
a) line (black] b) Ground (green, or yellow/green)
c) Load (red)
d) Traveler (brown) x 2 -
Disconnect one traveler wire (any one of the 2 traveler wires is ok) of the traditional 3-way switch in box 1 then connect this traveler wire to Line in box l to change it to the Line for box 2

Disconnect the wiring from the old switch.(Box 2)

Connect the Smart Switch to the existing wiring:
a. Connect the Ground (green, A) wire on the switch to the ground (green) wire from the switch box
b. Connect the Line (black, E) wire on the switch to the Line (black) wire from the breaker box
c. Connect the Neutral (white, D) wire on the switch and the Neutral (white) the wire coming from the light to the Neutral (white) wire from the breaker box
d. Connect the Load (red, B) wire on the switch to the Load (red) the wire from the light -
Ensure the included wire connectors are securely fastened to each wire. The Traveler (brown, C) wire needs to be covered with a wire connector even if not in use

Restore power at the circuit breaker switch to test if the switch works

Insert the switch into the wall and scan the 2D barcode to complete the device setup

**SMART SWITCHES
**
NOTE: to produce a functional J-way connection, both smart switches need to
be the same brand. This switch is not compatible with other brands.
For retrofit applications.

- Remove the existing switch from the wall and label the wires with the appropriate stickers included in the box

- Connect the Ground (green, A) wire of both switches to the Ground (green) wire from the breaker box.
- Connect the line [Pack E) wire of both switches to the Line (black) wire from the breaker box
- Connect the Neutral (white, D) wire on switch 2 and the Neutral (white] wire coming from the light to the Neutral (white) wire from the breaker box
- Connect the Neutral (white, D) wire on switch 1 to the Neutral (white) wire corning from the breaker box
- Connect the Load (red, B) wire on switch 2 to the Load (red) wire from the light
- Connect the Traveler (brown, C] wire on switch 2 to the Traveler (brown) of switch I.
- Ensure the included wire connectors are securely fastened to each wire.
- Restore power at the circuit breaker switch to test if the switch works
- Insert the switch into the wall and scan the 2D barcode to complete the device setup
- Once the device setup is successful and connected to the app, cover the wall plate with the screws provided.
CONNECTING INSTRUCTIONS

Download the Amazon Alexa app.

Power on your device
Ensure your smart switch is installed correctly and powered on. -
Scan barcode
-
Launch the Amazon Alexa app.
-
Select Add a Device”.
Select “Switch”, locate Globe Electric and follow the in-app instructions on how to scan the 20 barcodes. -
Scan the 20 barcodes on the product
[There are two locations, one at the front top, and another at the sideway.)
Please note
The device is automatically in pairing for S minutes once powered on. When you
scan the barcode, the white light will flash indicating the pairing is
successful. If within S minutes, it does not connect, turn the device OFF and
ON again to re-enter pairing mode.
Don’t have a barcode?
Select “Don’t have a barcode” in the Alexa app and follow the in-app
instructions on how to connect without a 2D barcode.
How to factory reset device
If you are struggling to set up your device, or if the device was already
connected to a network, perform a factory reset by following the instructions
below
You may notice your lights are flickering after installing the dimmer.
To correct this, you will need to adjust the product to the lowest dimming
brightness level.
To do so:
- Press the + and – buttons together for 5 seconds. The status indicator light will blink rapidly.
- Hold either the + or -to set the lowest dimming brightness level. Adjust the light until the flickering stops.
- To get out of this mode, repeat step 1 until the status indicator light stops flashing (will stay on).
