SPE GT500 2020+ DCT Cooler Line Kit
Instructions
- Lift the car using a hoist or jack and jackstands. Once you have access, remove the car’s belly pan.
- Remove the 8mm bolts that attach the factory lines to the transmission.
- Remove the following mounting bolts.
- Pull upward on the dual metal line strap (after removing the 10mm bolt) to allow the lines to drop out when removing them. The 15mm nut will not be reused, nor will the bracket.
- Remove the spring clips at the cooler and midpoint off the lines so they can be removed in two sections. You should have a total of 4 spring clips, but only 2 will be reused.
- Now that all clips and bolts are removed you can now pull the lines out of the transmission, then the oil cooler and mid connections. Release the guide clips. Remove and set the lines aside.
- Install the seals onto the transmission adapters as shown. Then, install them into the transmission, matching the from cooler fitting to the from cooler casting on the side of the case above the fitting bore. Tighten with the original 8mm bolts.
- Install the spring clips on to the new cooler quick connect adapters.
- Remove the rubber/plastic guides and isolators from the old lines. They will be reused at similar points on the new lines. This will aid in routing and positioning.
- Install the quick connect adapters on to the inlet and outlet of the cooler. Route the first hose with the straight end from the driver side of the cooler to the transmission fitting closest to the front of the car, labeled from cooler on the SPE fitting as well as the case. Route the hose similar to the factory, making sure to go over top of the sway bar. It will go in the upper position on the metal line clamp.
- Route the second hose in a similar fashion, making sure to go over the sway bar. Connect the 90 degree hose ends to the cooler and transmission.
- Install the Isolators and line clips similar to factory positions (pictures below). Check routing and make sure all fittings are snug.
- Now that the line kit is installed follow the Ford fill procedure to set the proper fluid level.
