TLA 4 Facade Cleaner

General notes

Read the original instructions before using the device for the first time and act in accordance with it. Keep the original instructions for future reference or for future owners.

Safety instructions

⚠ CAUTION

  • Do not use the device when persons are in the vicinity of the cleaning head.
  • Switch the high-pressure cleaner off and disconnect the power scrubber from the highpressure gun after finishing cleaning work and before performing any work on the high-pressure cleaner.
  • Do not trigger the high-pressure jet at the high-pressure gun until the power scrubber is on the surface to be cleaned.
  • Recoil danger. Keep proper footing and hold the high-pressure gun and extension tube firmly.
  • Maximum water temperature 60°C (please observe the instructions for your high-pressure cleaner).

Intended use

The façade and glass cleaning attachment can be used with all Kärcher Home & Garden high-pressure cleaners manufactured in 2008 or later, up to a pressure of 18 MPa (180 bar / 2600 psi).
The façade and glass cleaning attachment is ideal for high-pressure cleaning of house façades and glass surfaces such as winter gardens, window surfaces and façade glazing.
The façade and glass cleaning attachment is the ideal addition to the TLA 4 telescopic spray lance for safely handling cleaning tasks at great heights. The façade and glass cleaning attachment can also be used on any standard Kärcher extension tube or directly on the gun.

ATTENTION
Risk of damage
Risk of damage due to active forces. The telescopic spray lance and standard Kärcher extension tubes must not be combined.
Only use the façade and glass cleaning attachment in private households.

Environmental protection

The packing materials can be recycled. Please dispose of packaging in accordance with the environmental regulations.
Electrical and electronic devices contain valuable, recyclable materials and often components such as batteries, rechargeable batteries, or oil, which – if handled or disposed of incorrectly – can pose a potential danger to human health and the environment. However, these components are required for the correct operation of the device. Devices marked by this symbol are not allowed to be disposed of together with the household rubbish.
Working with detergents may only be performed on watertight surfaces with connection to the wastewater sewage system. Do not allow detergent to enter waterways or the soil.

Installation of frame

Note
Ensure that the device components are tightly connected on installation.

  1. Select the desired frame:
    a Frame with bristles for wall surfaces
    b Frame for glass surface cleaning textile covering

  2. Fit the frame on the holder (clicks into place).
    a When using the frame for glass cleaning, press the textile cover firmly on to the frame to attach it.

Installation on the telescopic spray lance*

Note Ensure that the device components are tightly connected on installation.

  1. Plug the bayonet into the mounting.
  2. Turn the façade and glass cleaning attachment until it clicks into place.

The façade and glass cleaning attachment can also be mounted on standard Kärcher extension tubes or directly on the high-pressure gun. The installation steps are identical. Repeat the procedure for all further extension tubes if necessary. *not included in the scope of delivery.

Initial startup
The device must be installed prior to use.

  1. Installing the desired frame
  2. Connect the device to the telescopic spray lance, extension, or high-pressure gun.

Operation

Cleaning wall surfaces
Remove coarse dirt from the surface to be cleaned (e.g. by sweeping) before using the device to avoid damage.

Note

  • Test the device on an inconspicuous area before using on sensitive surfaces, e. g. wood.
  • Do not allow it to remain in one area, but keep it in motion.
    1. Installing the frame for façade cleaning
    2. Hold the façade and glass cleaning attachment against the surface to be cleaned. Illustration D
    3. Unlock the lever of the trigger gun.
    4. Pull the lever of the trigger gun. The device switches on.
    5. Clean the surface with even movements.

Cleaning glass surfaces
For the effective cleaning of glass surfaces, guide the façade and glass cleaning attachment in even paths and from top to bottom over the glass surface.

  1. Install the frame for glass cleaning.
  2. Fasten the textile cover to the frame.
  3. Unlock the lever of the trigger gun.
  4. Pull the lever of the trigger gun. The device switches on.
  5. Clean glass surfaces.

After use

Rinse off the device with a gentle water stream after use.

  • Remove the façade and glass cleaning attachment and, if necessary, the telescopic spray lance or extension tubes from the high-pressure gun.
  • If necessary, remove the frame.
  • Rinse off the façade and glass cleaning attachment with the high-pressure gun (without other accessories) or wipe it down with a damp cloth.
  • Rinse the frame for façade cleaning under running water and remove any foreign matter from the bristles.
  • Remove the textile cover from the frame for glass cleaning and wash it under warm water. The textile cover can also be washed in the washing machine up to max. 60°C.

Storage

Store the device in a frost-protected place.

Care and service

Removing/installing the nozzles
The described procedure applies to all nozzles on the device.

  1. Remove the clip.
  2. Pull the high-pressure nozzle out.
  3. Fit the high-pressure nozzle.
  4. Fit the clip.

Cleaning the high-pressure nozzle

  1. Remove the high-pressure nozzle.
  2. Flush the high-pressure nozzle with clear water in both directions. Replace a damaged high-pressure nozzle where necessary.
  3. Install the high-pressure nozzle.

Troubleshooting guide

High-pressure cleaner not building up pressure or pulsing
High-pressure nozzles clogged or damaged

  1. Remove the high-pressure nozzles.
  2. Check the high-pressure nozzles for clogging and clean if necessary.
  3. Check the high-pressure nozzles for damage and replace if necessary.
  4. Rinse the façade and glass cleaning attachment thoroughly with clear water without the nozzles fit- ted.
  5. Install the high-pressure nozzles again.
