SAFETY WARNINGS

  1. WARNING: In order to ensure your children‘s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.
  2. In case that you need a copy of the instruction manual, you can find it in www.orbegozo.com.
    • Place the appliance on a stable flat surface.
    • Before sharpening a knife or tool, remove any grease or dirt from the surfaces.
    • The sharpener is designed to sharpen household-type kitchen knives, pocket knives, and most non-saw knives. Do not try to sharpen ax bladesor any other blade that does not fit well in the grooves or has a saw.
    • WARNING: Newly sharpened knives are sharper than you expect so to avoid any damage, use and handle them with great care. When cutting, be careful not to bring your fingers near the edge of the knife and avoid placing your fingers near the sharpening grooves during the sharpening process.
    • After sharpening the knives and to avoid any damage, store the knives in a safe place out of the reach of children, it is even recommended to put sheaths or protections on the knife blades.
    • Never try to sharpen more than one blade at a time.
    • In the sharpening process, keep a slight downward pressure.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Press the sharpener and turn the ring so that it is firmly attached to the table.

  • STEP 1. Diamond coated plates (Preparation for sharpening):

    • Slide the knife across the plates, lightly pressing the very smooth edge with little pressure. Repeat this operation as many times as necessary.
      IMPORTANT: Use before sharpening to smooth knife edge if nicked.
  • STEP 2. Tungsten Carbide Plates (Coarse Sharpening):

    • Slide the knife through the metal plates towards the back, slightly pressing the very soft edge with little pressure. Repeat this operation as many times as necessary until the blade regains its edge.
  • STEP 3. Ceramic bars (Fine sharpening):

    • Slide the knife without pressing to remove the burrs from step 1. Repeat the operation until the cutting edge is seated.
    • To maintain the edge, this stage can be carried out without executing step 1. Recommended once a week.

Wash the knife after sharpening.
