Sharp SPC932 Atomic Desktop Clock
Thank you for your purchase of this quality clock. The utmost care has gone into the design and manufacture of your clock. Please read these instructions and store them in a safe place for future reference. The clock has a built in receiver that automatically synchronizes itself with the WWVB radio signal broadcast by the US Government’s National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) in Fort Collins, Colorado. The WWVB radio signal daily broadcast ensures that the atomic clock will always display the most accurate date and time. The Atomic Clock will always be accurate to within one second as it receives daily WWVB updates. Daylight Saving Time also automatically updates so there is no need to re-set the clock manually!

QUICK START GUIDE
- Insert batteries into clock.
- Time Zone will flash, press the UP/DOWN button to select your time zone and press TIME to confirm.
- Daylight Savings Time (DST) will flash, press the UP/DOWN button to select ON/OFF and press TIME to confirm. Turn ON unless you live in parts of Indiana or Arizona where DST is not applicable.
- Now you can either set the time and calendar manually OR wait until the clock receives the atomic signal. The signal is usually received by morning the next day but it will begin looking for the signal immediately. During the day there is a lot of interference and that is why the signal is often received overnight. Once the clock receives the atomic signal and all of the clock settings are in place, the time and date will be automatically updated.
POWER SUPPLY
- This clock operates on three “AAA” batteries (not supplied). Remove the BATTERY DOOR at the back of the clock and insert three new “AAA” batteries in the direction of the polarity symbols. Please make sure the batteries are new and inserted correctly.
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (ni-cad, ni-mh, etc) batteries.
ATOMIC CLOCK TIME
- The atomic clock will be activated and search for the WWVB radio signal. On the clock’s display the atomic signal indicator “‘ ” will flash. If the clock successfully receives the signal, the atomic signal indicator “‘ ‘” will stop flashing and remain steady on the display.
- If the clock fails to synchronize in the first attempt, the signal is usually received by morning the next day. During the day there is a lot of interference and that is why the signal is often received overnight. Once the clock receives the atomic signal and all of the clock settings are in place, the time and date will be automatically updated.
- Press and hold the 0C/°F/ WAVE button for 2 seconds if you need to attempt immediate signal synchronization.
- If you’d like to set the clock manually, press °C/°F/ WAVE button to stop the synchronization, the atomic signal indicator “‘ ‘” will no longer be shown on the display.

SETUP
TO SET THE DATE & TIME MANUALLY
- Press and hold the DATE button for 2 seconds to activate CALENDAR setting. The setting flow is “YEAR> MONTH> DATE> DAY”
- When the year “2019” flashes, press the UP/DOWN button to advance to the correct year.
- Press the DATE button to confirm.
- When the MONTH flashes, press the UP/DOWN button to advance to the correct month.
- Press the DATE button to confirm.
- When the DATE flashes, press the UP/DOWN button to advance to the correct date.
- Press the DATE button to confirm.
- The DAY of the week is automatically calculated and displayed.
- Press and hold the TIME button down for 2 seconds to activate TIME setting. The setting flow is ‘TIME ZONE> DST(ON/OFF) >HOUR> MINUTE”.
- When TIME ZONE flashs, press the UP/DOWN button to advance to the correct Time Zone.
- Press the TIME button to confirm.
- When DST (Daylight Savings Time) flashes, press the UP/DOWN button to select DST ON/OFF status.
- Press the TIME button to confirm.
- When the HOUR flashes, press the UP/DOWN button to advance to the correct hour.
- Press the TIME button to confirm.
- When the MINUTE flashes, press the UP/DOWN button to advance to the correct minute.
- Press the TIME button to confirm.
- When the clock is set successfully and DST is turned on, the DST indicator will be shown on the clock’s display when it’s Daylight Saving Time.
TO SET THE ALARM TIME
- Press and hold the ALARM button down for 2 seconds to activate ALARM setting.
- When the HOUR flashes, press the UP/DOWN button to advance to the correct hour.
- Press the ALARM button to confirm.
- When the MINUTE flashes, press the UP/DOWN button to advance to the correct minute.
- Press the ALARM button to confirm and exit setting.
USING THE ALARM
- Press the ALARM button, on the front of the clock the alarm time will display.
- Press the ALARM button, when the alarm indicator shows “‘ on” the alarm is on.
- Press the ALARM button, when the alarm indicator shows “‘ off” the alarm is off.
- The alarm will sound for one minute at the programmed time.
SELECTING CELSIUS(0C)/ FAHRENHEIT(°F)
- Press “°C!°F/ WAVE” button to alternate between •c and “F for the indoor temperature display.
USING THE INDOOR TEMPERATURE
- When Indoor temperatures drop below 15.B’F the temperature display will read “LO” and flash. When indoor temperatures are above +122°F, the temperature display will read “HI” and flash.
USING THE SNOOZE FEATURE
- Pressing the SNOOZE/LIGHT button after the alarm sounds will cause the alarm to pause and sound again in 5 minutes. This will be repeat each time the SNOOZE/LIGHT button is pressed. The snooze indicator “Zz” will flash to confirm function is activated.
USING THE BACKLIGHT FEATURE
- Press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button to illuminate the display backlight five seconds for night viewing.
12/24 HOUR FEATURE
- Press the TIME button to select 12/24 hour format. If the time is 12 hour format, the PM indicator will be shown when the hour is advanced into the PM time.
SUGGESTION
Make sure you read the instructions before operating this clock. We have developed this sophisticated instrument for best reception performance; however, the signal transmitted from USA Atomic Clock transmitter will be affected in certain situations. We advise you to note the following instructions:
- It is strongly recommended to start this clock at night and let the clock receive the signal automatically past midnight.
- Always place the unit away from interfering sources such as TV set, computer, etc.
- Avoid placing the unit on or next to metal plates.
- Areas with access to windows is recommended for better reception.
- Do not start reception in moving articles such as vehicles or trains.
MAINTENANCE
- The batteries should be replaced if the display or alarm becomes weak or dysfunctional.
- Store the clock without batteries when not in use.
- A soft cloth or a paper towel may be used to clean your clock.
- Do not use any corrosive cleaner or chemical solution on the clock.
- Keep the clock clean and dry to avoid problems.
BATTERY PRECAUTIONS
- Do not use rechargeable batteries
- Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged
- Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended to be used
- Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity
- Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the product
- The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited
- Do not dispose of batteries in fire;
- Batteries may explode or leak.
- Adult assembly required to replace and remove batteries.
