Operating instructions
In order to avoid injury or damage to the appliance during operation, it is imperative that you observe the following safety instructions:

- An electrical appliance is not a children‘s toy. Children do not recognise the dan-gers associated with electrical appliances. Therefore, keep the appliance out of reach of children.
- The appliance may only be immersed in liquids up to the level of the separation between housing and handle (marking 1).
- Remove the battery when replacing the attachments!
- Only switch on the appliance when the mixer is placed in the receptacle.
- Route the charger cable so that it does not come into contact with hot or sharp-edged objects and so that no one can trip over it! Do not bend it, place heavy ob-jects on it or wrap it around the appliance. Do not let the mains cable hang down over the edge of the work surface.
- The battery must not come into contact with heat, fire or dirt.
- Only use the charger, charger cable and accessories supplied with the appliance. The appliance may only be operated with genuine parts and accessories.
- Only work with the hand blender when it is in a receptacle with a flat bottom.

- Never bring the live parts into contact with water.
- Never immerse the complete hand blender, the battery, the charger or the charg-er cable in water or other liquids.
- Never expose the appliance to rain or other intense moisture. If the charger (with or without the hand blender) does fall into water, first unplug the charger cable from the socket with dry hands and then remove the appliance from the water. Remove the battery pack from the blender handle and have the entire appliance checked by an authorised service point before using it again.
- Do not operate the appliance with wet hands. Do not use it when it is damp or wet or when you are standing on damp ground.
- The hand blender and the charger must not be cleaned in the dishwasher.

This procedure must also be carried out when changing the battery (at the end of the battery life). Please follow the instructions in the chap-ters “Changing of the battery” (page 30) and “Disposal of the battery” (page 30).

- Do not use abrasive cleaners, aggressive liquids, sponges with rough surfaces or hard brushes.
- Do not put the appliance in the dishwasher. This would damage the blender! Only clean the appliance with a damp cloth.
- Do not leave the blending shaft in liquids for a long time as this could lead to dis-colouration.
Operating of the battery
- WARNING : Explosive gases. Avoid flames and sparks. Ensure ade-quate ventilation when charging.
- CAUTION! RISK OF INJURY IN CASE OF IMPROPER HANDLING OF BATTERIES!
Rechargeable batteries must be handled with special care.
-
To maximise battery life, place the hand blender in the charger after each use.
-
Only use original batteries. Do not place non-rechargeable batteries in the charger; they are not rechargeable!
-
Do not throw the rechargeable batteries into a fire or expose them to high temper-atures. There is a risk of explosion.
-
Only use undamaged rechargeable batteries.
-
Never expose batteries or charger to direct sunlight or moisture.
-
Never short-circuit batteries. The battery may burn out due to overheating caused by a short circuit.
-
Never open a battery. Liquid that leaks out when used incorrectly can cause skin irritation. Avoid contact with the liquid. In case of contact, rinse off the liquid im-mediately. If the liquid gets into the eyes, immediately flush the eyes with water for 10 minutes and seek medical attention without delay.
NOTE! REDUCED BATTERY LIFE IF IMPROPERLY HANDLED! Improper handling can reduce the performance of the batteries. -
Only use the original charger. Other charging devices may destroy the battery.

Disconnect the charger from the power supply if it is not going to be used for a long period of time.
-
Remove the battery from the charger when the charger is not connected to the power supply.
-
Never insert other objects into the opening of the charger or into the battery port of the appliance.
-
Replace batteries that can no longer be charged. They will damage the charger.
Improper handling of electricity can have fatal consequences, cause short
circuits, fire or electric shock! Never use a defective charging cable. In the
event of any dam-age, it must be replaced with a special connecting cable,
which is available either from the manufacturer or its after-sales service;
please contact the bamix® repair service.
If the hand blender is switched on and the button is pressed, the number of
lit LEDs on the LED display indicates the charg-ing status of the hand blender
for 1 second. Note: Do not switch on the hand blender when the battery is
empty. Otherwise, the battery may be damaged.
Place the hand blender in the charger by positioning it at an angle and then
swivelling it to the horizontal position. When the hand blender is correctly
connected to the charger, the LED lights of the LED display will flash. The
number of flashing LED lights indicates the charging status. The battery is
fully charged when no more LED lights are lit. You can also charge the battery
without the hand blender in the charger. For more information on the charge
level indicator, see the chapter “LED display (charging and working)” on page
26.

charger is only disconnected from the mains when you pull the plug out of the
sock-et. Check the cable regularly for damage! A damaged device or cable must
no longer be put into operation! Never pull the plug out of the socket by the
pulling the charger cable or with wet hands!
