Before initial start-up, it is essential to fill the engine with engine oil. Check the oil level before each start-up.

To ensure quality, every piece of equipment is subject to a test oper-ation and filled with motor oil. Oil is drained before transport; however, there can be some motor oil remains on the dip stick. Please check care-fully the oil level and add motor oil again. 8 + 9

• Children must be supervised in order not to play with the machine.

Specified Conditions of Use

• For soil preparation in small to medium-sized areas. For incorporating mulch, peat, sand, manure or compost.
• Do not use this product in any other way as stated for normal use. Not observing general regulations in force and instructions from this manual does not make the manufacturer liable for damages.

Residual Risk

Even when the device is used properly and all safety regulations are complied with, there still may be some residual risks.

• Rotating blades may lead to serious injuries by cutting or amputating parts of the body.
  Never touch under the housing body when the engine is running. Wear gloves! Wear safety cut through resistant shoes with safety sole and steel toe !

• Thrown-off stones or soil may lead to injuries.
  Before mowing, check the area to be mowed for any undesirable objects. Wear safety goggles when working.

• Poor lighting/light conditions represent a high safety risk.
  Provide adequate lighting or good lighting conditions when working with the machine.

• Hearing damage
  A longer stay in the immediate vicinity of the running unit may cause hearing damage. Wear ear protectors!

• Damage to health arising from vibrations to hand and arms if the device is used for a long time or if the device is not guided and evaluated properly. Take frequent work breaks. Limit the amount of exposure per day.

• Damage resulting from catching / winding
  The rotating blades may catch the connecting cable, leads, cords or clothing and wind and/or cut through these. Whilst working, always maintain a sufficient distance from the cable on the ground and do not run over the cable. ZBefore mowing, check the area to be mowed for any undesirable objects. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts.

Emergency procedure

Conduct a first-aid procedure adequate to the injury and summon qualified medical attendance as quickly as possible. Protect the injured person from further harm and calm them down. If you seek help, state the following pieces of information:

1. Accident site,

3. Number of injured persons,
4.  Injury type(s)

Safety instructions for garden tillers

Risk of injury

• Be sure to have a firm footing, particularly on slopes.
• Do not work on too steep slopes. Be particularly careful when changing travelling direction on slopes.
• Pay maximum attention when turning around and pulling the appliance to you.
• Walk! Never run!
• Carefully check the terrain where the appliance is going to be used and remove all objects that could get caught or thrown off by the appliance such as stones, branches, wires, animals, etc.
• Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Minimum safe distance is 15 m.
• Do not use the appliance in bad weather, especially when there is a risk of storm.
• Start the motor carefully in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and ensure that you keep your feet a sufficient distance away from the tool(s). Never place your hands or feet on or under turning parts.
• Never lift or carry a machine whilst the motor is running.
• Ensure that the extension cable can move freely at all times and keep the extension cable away from the blade unit. You must never run over the extension cable.
• Be sure to maintain the safety distance required by the handle frame.
• Always guide the device with both hands on the handle-bar.
• Stop the device and disconnect it from the power supply
  • whenever you leave the lawnmower
  • before removing blockages
  • before checking, cleaning or working on the device
  • after contact with a foreign object, to check the device for damage
• In the event of a blockage, switch the device off immediately and wait until the machine has stopped completely. Then remove the object. Use protective gloves when handling the blades.
• Wear personal protective equipment. Wear solid shoes and long trousers. Do not operate the machine with bare feet or with open sandals.
• The ON/OFF switch and safety switch must not be locked.
• All protection covers and safety devices must be correctly attached to operate the device.
  • Before each use, check (visual inspection) the blade unit and its fixing devices for any damage. In order to avoid imbalance, worn or damaged parts and fixing bolts may only be replaced as a set.
  • The appliance must not be used if damaged or safety equipment is defective. Replace any worn-out and damaged parts.
• If the appliance starts abnormally vibrating, switch the engine off and search for the cause immediately. Gene-rally, vibrations are a warning against operating failure.
• Warning! This power tool generates an electromagnetic field during operation. Under certain circumstances, this field may affect active or passive medical implants. To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury, we recommend that individuals with medical implants consult their physician and the manufacturer of the medical implant before operating the machine.
• Do not use the device near flammable liquids or gases. Risk of fire and explosion in case of short circuit..

MAINTENANCE

Danger – Rotating blades.
Wait until all rotating parts have stopped and the appliance has cooled down.
Switch the engine off and remove the socket plug before any work on the engine. Wait until all rotating parts have stopped and the appliance has cooled down.

• Keep the appliance, especially the tank and engine, clean at all times. Clean the ejection opening and cover at regular intervals.
• Regularly remove any remainders of grass and weed to avoid an overheating of the shaft tube. Remainders of grass and weeds get caught under the protection cover avoiding a sufficient cooling of the shaft tube. Remove the remainders carefully with a screwdriver or a similar tool.
• To reduce fire risks, periodically clean the cylinder flaps with compressed air and clear the silencer area to get rid of sawdust, branches, leaves or other debris.
• To keep the danger of fire as low as possible the engine and exhaust pipe must be free from grass, leaves and excess grease.
• Repairs and works specified in these Instructions may only be performed by qualified authorised staff.
• Use only original accessories and original spare parts.
• Only a regularly maintained and treated appliance can serve as a satisfactory aid. Insufficient maintenance and care can lead to unforeseen accidents and injuries.

Storage

Store the device and its accessories in a dark, dry and frost-free place that is inaccessible to children.

Disposal

• The disposal instructions are based on the icons placed on the appliance or its package.
• Any damaged or disposed devices must be delivered to appropriate collection centres.

Guarantee

• Warranty period of 12 months applies to commercial use and 24 months applies to private use and commences on the day of purchase of the device.

• The guarantee solely covers inadequacies caused
  by material defect or manufacturing defect. Original payment voucher with the sales date needs to be submitted for any claim in the guarantee period.

• The guarantee does not cover any unauthorised use such as appliance overloading, use of violence, damage as a result of any unauthorised interference or caused by foreign items. Failing to follow the operating and assembly instructions and common wear are also not included in the guarantee..

Important information for the customer
Please note that returns within or outside the warranty period should always be in the original packaging. This measure effectively avoids unnecessary transport damage and any associated disputed ruling. Your equipment is optimally protected only in the original box, and keeping it in that box will ensure smooth processing.

Failure removal

Engine does not start

1.     Fill the tank up to its full capacity; check whether the carburettor contains a fuel; check tank de-aeration and make an opening in the tank lid with a needle.

2.     Clean the air filter.

3.     Clean the spark plug or install the new one if necessary; check the ignition cable; let the ignition checked in a service.

4.     Unscrew the spark plug, clean it and dry; pull several times the starting string when the spark plug is unscrewed.

Engine outages occur

| 1.     Ignition cable is loosened.

2.     Fuel piping is clogged or fuel is bad.

3.     Ventilation opening in the fuel tank lid is blocked

4.     There is water or dirt in fuel piping.

5.     Air filter is dirty.

| 1.      Fit the spark plug extension firmly onto the spark plug.

2.      Clean fuel piping, use fresh fuel.

3.      Replace the fuel tank lid.

4.      Drain the fuel and refill clean and fresh fuel.

5.      Clean the air filter.

Engine often stop at idle run

| 1.     Ignition distance is too long, spark plug is defective.

2.     Carburettor is not adjusted precisely.

3.     Dirty air filter

| 1.     Adjust or replace the spark plug.

2.     Adjust the carburettor.

3.     Clean the air filter.

Drive does not work properly

| 1.     Check the drive handle string tension.

2.     Drive does not work.

| 1.     Perform additional adjustment of drive handle string tension if necessary.

2.     Let the machine checked in a service point.

Unusual vibrations| 1.     Blade is damaged or blunt.

2.     Fixing screws are loosened.

| 1.     Replace the knives.

2.     Tighten the fixing screws.

Unsatisfactory result| Blunt blades| Replace the blades.

Inspection and maintenance plan

Non-compliance with the maintenance plan may result in damage to the motor!

Carry out the appropriate maintenance in the month specified or after being operated for the number of operating hours specified, depending on which occurs first.
