Product Usage Instructions

Installation Instructions:

  1. Unscrew the 2-inch adapter and the 1.25-inch adapter from your telescope.
  2. Remove the dust cap from the reducer and screw it onto the 185APO telescope.
  3. Securely lock the locking ring in place.

Usage Guidelines:
The 0.8x reducer is designed to reduce the focal ratio of the Askar 185APO telescope to F5.6, providing a wider field of view and faster exposure times. This makes it ideal for capturing large areas of nebulae, star clusters, and fast-moving celestial objects.

Instructions for use

The 0.8x reducer can bring Askar 185APO’s focal ratio down to F5.6. This is a standard reducer with field flattening capabilities as well. A shorter focal ratio allows the OTA to have a wider field of view and faster exposure times, making it suitable for capturing large areas of nebulae, star clusters, and faint, fast-moving celestial objects.
The 0.8x reducer adopts a quadruplet design and supports a 44mm full-frame image circle. The overall weight is 0.95kg. The back focus from the M48 thread is a standard 55mm. The front thread is M841. At the camera end, it is equipped with M681, M540.75, and M480.75 three sizes of adapters, which are convenient for connection. At the same time, it has a built-in M48*0.75 2-inch filter thread, which can be directly installed and used. The overall CNC machined, both end threaded metal caps prevent ash when not in use.

FAQ

Q: Can the reducer be used with other telescopes?
A: The reducer is specifically designed for use with the Askar 185APO telescope and may not be compatible with other models.

Q: How do I clean the reducer?
A: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the lenses of the reducer. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that may damage the optics.

Q: Can I stack multiple reducers together?
A: It is not recommended to stack multiple reducers as it may introduce optical aberrations and reduce image quality.
