ANTI-SEIZE LUBRICANT MUST BE USED ON ALL STAINLESS STEEL FASTENERS TO PREVENT THREAD DAMAGE AND GALLING

TIGER SHARK WINCH INSTRUCTIONS

1. Remove contents from box, verify if all parts listed are present and free from damage. Failure to identify damage before installation could lead to a rejection of any claim,
   Note: Carefully remove the winch as the control box will be loose.

2. Carefully read and understand all instructions before attempting installation. Ensure that all mounting hardware is torqued to specifications prior to use.

3. Disconnect the battery power cable and battery ground cable from the battery.

4. Place winch on its side with motor side facing up. See Figure 1.
   

5. Remove the (2) motor bolts and the motor cap. See Figure 2.
   
   

6. With the motor side open, remove the (3) screws that hold the brush assembly in place. See Figure 3.
   

7.  Lift the brush assembly up and rest it on top of the ball bearing. See Figure 4.
   
   

8. Remove the (4) control box screws, and remove the control box lid. See Figure 5.
   

9. Remove the (2) M8 hex nuts holding the bus bar in place and remove buss bar. The first nut is located behind the con- tactor. The second nut is secured to the contractor. See Figures 6, 7 and 8.
   
   
   
   

10. Remove the second hex nut on the bolt behind the contractor that is holding the red insulator piece in place. See Figure 9,
    

11. Remove the (2) screws holding the control box bracket to the winch drum support. See Figure 10.
    
    

12. Remove motor case, control box, and cables from the winch. Use a mallet to tap the side of the motor case. This will make it easier to remove the motor case. See Figures 11 and 12.
    

13. Remove the brush assembly from the motor case. Slide the brush assembly bolt out of the motor case. Make sure that the plastic washer and square gasket are removed along with the brush assembly bolt. See Figure 11 and 13.
    
    

14. Install the replacement Brush Assembly (item 1) in the motor case using the (3) screws removed in Step 6. Slide the brush assembly bolt through the motor case making sure that the white plastic washer and square gasket are in place. Reinstall the red insulator and first M8 hex nut to hold the brush assembly bolt. See Figures 9 and 13.
    

15. Remove and replace the Motor Gasket (item 2) that sits between the drum support and motor case,

16.  Slide the motor case and installed brush assembly over the motor armature until the (4) brushes rest on the top edge of the motor armature. The brushes will tend to catch as they are spring loaded to push inwards. Use a small flat head screwdriver to push the brushes outwards one by one until they catch on the outside of the armature. When the brushes are all contacting the armature, the motor case will slide downwards into place. See Figures 14 and 15.
    
    

17. Remove the original Tiger Shark Motor O-Ring and install the replacement Tiger Shark Motor O-Ring (tem 3).

18. Remove the original Motor Bolt O-Rings and install the replacement Motor Bolt O-Rings (Item 4).

19. Reinstall the motor cap, motor bolts, buss bar, and control box lid. Secure them with their respective nuts and screws. Refer to previous steps for reference.

SX WINCH INSTRUCTIONS

1. 1. Disconnect the battery power cable and battery ground cable from the battery.

2. Place winch on its side with motor side facing up. See Figure 16.
   
   

3. Remove the motor cover. Remove the (4) bolts holding it in place. See Figure 16.

4. Refer to Steps 5, 6, and 7 of the Tiger Shark Winch Instructions.

5. Remove the M8 hex nuts, split lock washer and cable attached to the brush assembly bolt. The brush assembly bolt runs through the red insulator. See Figure 17.
   
   

6. Refer to Steps 12 to 16 of the Tiger Shark Winch Instructions.

7. Remove the original Motor Gasket from the motor cap.

8. Install the replacement Motor Gasket (item 2). See Figure 18.
   

9. Remove the original Motor Bolt O-Rings and install the replacement Motor Bolt O-Rings (item 4).

10. Reinstall the motor cap, motor bolts, and motor cover. Secure them with their respective nuts and screws. Refer to previous steps for reference.

All SUPERWINCH supplied fasteners must be utilized and installed in accordance with the installation in- structions and apply torque to the specifications as defined. DOUBLE CHECK ALL FASTENERS BEFORE NITIAL USE, AND PERIODICALLY IN THE FUTURE TO ENSURE PROPER FUNCTION AND SAFETY.
EYE PROTECTION:
ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GLASSES OR GOGGLES DURING THE INSTALLATION PROCESS TO AVOID PERSON- AL INJURY.
