Veg Patch LottoVeg Patch Lotto
Be the first to fill your wheelbarrow with tasty fruit and veg in this fun
matching and memory game. But beware! If you complete the scarecrow Mr.
McGregor wins the game!
Setting up
Each player chooses a character board and places it in front of them.
Spread
out all the fruit/veg and scarecrow cards, face down, on the table.
Place
the Mr. McGregor board on the table within reach of all players. 1 To play
The youngest player starts.
Turn over a card from the table. 2 Does it match?
If the fruit or veg on the card matches any of the pictures on your board,
cover the picture with the card. Play passes to the next player.
3 No
match
If the fruit or veg on thecard does not match any of the pictures on your
board, show the cardto the other players and return it, face down, to the
table.
Play passes to the next player. 4 Scarecrow card
If the picture on the card is part of the scarecrow, place the card on the
correct space on the scarecrow board. Play passes to the next player.
5 The
winner
The winner is the first player to fill their wheelbarrow with matching fruit
and veg. Note: If all the scarecrow cards are found before any player
fills their wheelbarrow, Mr. McGregor wins the game!
Simplifying the game
For a simpler game of lotto, remove the Mr. McGregor board and scarecrowcards
and play as before.
The game can also be used as a simple matching activity
by spreading all the fruit and veg cards, face up, on the table and matching
each card to the pictures on the character boards.
