Fish and Count
See how many fish you can catch in this fun number and counting game, but watch out for the stickleback who will eat all of your fish!
Contents:
30 fish/beetle cards
4 character boards
1 spinner board
1 two-part spinner arrow
Setting up
Each player chooses a character board and places it in front of them.
Assemble the spinner and place it within reach of all players.
Spread out all the cards, water beetle side up, on the table.
To play
The youngest player starts.
Spin the spinner.
Count the water beetles
Look for a card showing the same number of water beetles as the number spun on the spinner.
Turn the card over and count the fish. Place the card on your character board.
Play passes to the next player.
Watch out for the stickleback!
If you pick up a stickleback card, the stickleback will eat all of your fish!
The stickleback, together with any fish on your character board, are removed from play.
Play passes to the next player.
Towards the end of the game, if you cannot find a card showing the same amount of water beetles as the number spun on the spinner, play passes to the next player.
Count your fish
When there are no more cards left on the table to match to, all players count how many fish they have caught.
The winner
The winner is the player with the most fish at the end of the game
