  • This electric blanket is designed for domestic use only and is not suitable for commercial use such as in hospitals or hotels.
  • Do not use this electric blanket with babies and toddlers.
  • This electric blanket is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the electric blanket.
  • Keep the electric blanket away from pets. Do not allow animals to lie on or chew the electric blanket or power cord.
  • Do not to use a hot water bottle whilst using the electric blanket.
  • Avoid extended use of this electric blanket at high settings as a build-up of heat could cause overheating of the body (heatstroke), irritations or burns on the skin.
  • Slide the power switch to the off position and unplug the power cord when not in use.
  • Ensure nothing heavy is placed on the electric blanket while it is switched on.
  • Keep controllers away from external sources of heat, e.g. heater, fireplace, naked flame, etc.

Electrical Safety

  • Before connecting the electric blanket, ensure your outlet voltage and circuit frequency correspond to the voltage stated on the rating label.

  • To protect against fire and electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug or controller in water or other liquid. Never switch on the electric blanket if it is moist or wet. Do not operate the electric blanket with wet hands. Allow the electric blanket to dry completely before using it. Keep the controller away from open windows.

  • Do not use a dryer or heater to dry the electric blanket.

  • Only ever use the provided power cord and controllers.

  • Do not use the electric blanket with an extension cord unless this extension cord has been checked and tested by a qualified electrician.

  • Switch off the electrical outlet and remove the plug when the electric blanket is not in use. Do not pull on the power cord, only pull the plug.

  • For additional protection, it is strongly recommended that a residual current device
(safety switch) with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA is used on the circuit supplying power to this product. See your electrician for professional advice.

  • Check the electric blanket, controllers, and cords regularly for damage. If the electric blanket is damaged, cease use immediately and contact help.Kogan.com for support.

  • Use a clean cloth to thoroughly dry the controller and allow the entire electric blanket to air dry completely before plugging it back in. Do not use a dryer or heater to dry the electric blanket.

  • On dual controller models, users can control their own side of the bed with individual controllers. Each side of the electric blanket has a separate element powered with its own power cord. Preferably, the two power cords should be plugged into different electrical outlets.

  • If there is a rapid temperature rise high enough to constitute a hazard, the overheat system will intervene by cutting off the power before the temperature reaches the point where damage may occur. In the event of the overheat system operating, the electric blanket will turn off. Should this happen, stop using the electric blanket and disconnect it from power.

  • To avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut-out, this electric blanket must not be powered by an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off.

OPERATION

Fitting the Electric Blanket
To make sure your electric blanket works properly and retains heat efficiently, it must be fitted securely to the mattress so it can’t move around or crease.

  1. Remove your fitted or flat sheet.
  2. Unfold the electric blanket fully and lay it flat on the bare mattress.
  3. Position the electric blanket so the power cord is at the head of the bed.
  4. Use the fitted skirt to secure the electric blanket to your mattress, passing the skirt underneath to secure in place.OVELBLFFSBB-Fully-Fitted-Electric-Blanket-1
  5. When the electric blanket is fitted snuggly to the mattress, connect the controller connector to the electric blanket socket. To detach the controller from the electric blanket, lift the flap on the electric blanket socket and pull gently.

WARNING : Do not pull the controller’s power cord or plug without lifting the flap as this will damage the socket.

Notes:

  • Do not use a mattress topper with this electric blanket.
  • Check the electric blanket regularly to ensure it’s still fitting snuggly without creases and that the power cord and controllers are still connected.
  • Do not stretch, fold, roll or kink the power cord. Allow the power cord to hang freely. Do not allow the cords to become trapped under the mattress or bed layers, as this could damage the cords.

Before Use
Before you turn the electric blanket on and use it, ensure that:

  • The power cord and controllers are uncovered.
  • The power cord and controller connectors are firmly and securely connected to the electric blanket’s sockets.
  • The electric blanket is fully unfolded. It is not safe to use when folded.
  • The electric blanket fits snuggly over your mattress so creases can’t easily form, but it is not stretched too tightly.
  • Once you have fitted your electric blanket, plug it in to an electrical outlet near the head of the bed. Ensure that the cord is not stretched. Safely use an appropriate extension cord if necessary.

Power
Slide the Power switch down to turn the electric blanket on, and up to turn it off. The power indicator will illuminate when the electric blanket is on.
