Product Usage Instructions:
Attaching the Camera to an Eyepiece
- Connect the Focusable Lens to the Moticam 4000X.
- Choose a suitable Eyepiece Adapter for your eyepiece.
- Attach the Eyepiece Adapter to the Focusable Lens.
- Carefully attach the whole unit onto the eyepiece ensuring the adapter reaches far enough for support.
Attaching the Camera to the Macro Tube:
- Connect the Focusable Lens to the Moticam 4000X.
- Attach the Macro Tube to the Focusable Lens.
- Additional illumination may be required when viewing macro objects.
Attaching the Camera to a Trinocular Port:
- Connect a suitable C-Mount adapter to the Moticam 4000X.
- Ensure parfocality by including the C-Ring if necessary.
Connecting to Moticam 4000X WiFi Signal:
- Connect your WiFi Device to the camera’s SSID signal (Moticam4000X_XXXXXX).
- The default password is 12345678.
Moticam 4000X + Computer:
- Install Motic Images Plus software from the USB Stick.
- Connect the Power Supply and USB Cable to the camera.
- Turn on the camera using the On/Off Switch.
Moticam 4000X + HDMI Screen:
- Connect the HDMI Cable to the camera’s HDMI Port and monitor.
- Attach a USB Mouse to access on-board tools.
- Connect the Power Supply and turn on the camera.

Thank you for purchasing this Moticam. This camera is a delicate instrument
and should be handled with care. When not in use, please store the camera in a
safe place with the dust cap attached. Do not let the camera get in contact
with water or expose it to extreme temperatures (below 0 or above 50 degrees
Celsius). In order to receive the highest level of service, please retain your
receipt as proof of purchase and register your camera online at
www.motic.com today.

Attaching the Camera to an Eyepiece
Connect the Focusable Lens (B) to the Moticam 4000X (A) and choose a suitable
Eyepiece Adapter (C) for your eyepiece.
Attach the Eyepiece Adapter to the Focusable Lens and then carefully attach
the whole unit onto the eyepiece.
- Please take care to ensure that the eyepiece adapter reaches far enough over the eyepiece of your microscope due to the weight of the camera system.
Attaching the Camera to the Macro Tube
Connect the Focusable Lens (B) to the Moticam 4000X (A) and then attach the
Macro Tube (F) to the Focusable Lens.
When viewing macro objects in this format, additional illumination may be
required.
Attaching the Camera to a Trinocular Port
Connect a suitable C-Mount adapter (not included) to the Moticam 4000X (A)
Please note that the C-Mount adapter is specific to your microscope. Please
consult your microscope’s manual to find a suitable adapter for a 1/2.8”

Please note that in order to achieve parfocality between the on-screen image
and the eyepiece image, the inclusion of the C-Ring (D) may be necessary.
Connect to the Moticam 4000X WiFi signal
- Each Moticam 4000X transmits its own WiFi signal to which you can directly connect your WiFi Device.
- The Moticam 4000X’s SSID signal name is “Moticam4000X_XXXXXX”. To log into your camera, simply connect your WiFi device to that signal.
The password for the network by default is 12345678.
Using a Wifi device that operates with Android or iOS

For best performance, we recommend to use WiFi devices, such as tablets, with a screen not smaller than 7 inches.
For iOS devices we suggest using iOS 12 or higher while for Android Devices we suggest using Version 8.0 or higher.- To operate and use the camera on your tablet, please download our free App called MotiConnect. For iPad you can find this on AppStore, for Android devices you can find this on Google Play.
- The camera supports both MJPG and H.265 output. By default the camera is set to H.265 in order to provide fast FPS transmission to the MotiConnect App.
If you would like to view the live image on both MotiConnect, please change the output mode to MJPG using the settings on the MotiConnect App .
Use the Moticam 4000X on your Wifi enabled computer
The Moticam 4000X can also be used with Motic Images Plus software for
computers. If you have a WiFi enabled laptop, you can go to
www.motic.com and download Motic Images Plus 3.1ML
software by registering as a user with the DM serial number you will find on
the box. To view the camera in our product’s MI Devices interface, simply log
your computer onto the Moticam 4000X WiFi signal, by selecting this Wifi
connection and entering the password. Then open the MI Devices interface by
clicking on the camera icon within Motic Images Plus and select Motic WiFi
from the drop down menu. Then click on Open.
Moticam 4000X + Computer
Load and Install the Motic Images Plus software from the Motic Software USB
Stick (J). We recommend Windows 10 and up and the latest OSX.
Connect the camera’s Power Supply (I) to a suitable outlet and connect the USB
Cable (E) to the USB Port (3). Turn the camera on using the On/Off Switch (7)
Please consult the In-Software help and manual for complete coverage of the
software tools.
Moticam 4000X + HDMI Screen
- Connect the HDMI Cable (H) to the cameras HDMI Port (2) and to the HDMI port on the included monitor.
- Connect a suitable USB Mouse (Wired or Wireless) to the camera’s USB Port (3)
- Connect the camera’s Power Supply (I) to a suitable. Turn the camera on using the On/Off Switch (7)
- By hovering the mouse over the sides of the screen, the camera’s on-board tools can be used.
HDMI On-Screen Tools
Hovering the Mouse to the bottom of the screen will bring up the camera
control tool-bar
Clicking on the Settings button and selecting Language will allow the user to
change the on-screen language. By default the language is set to English.

Motic Images Plus Software USB (J) for more help.
Note: The device is limited to indoor use, using frequencies from 5150MHz-5350MHz to reduce the potential for interference.
