INTRODUCTION – SMART DEVICE

The product is compatible with smart phones. Accordingly, at the time of writing of this description, it is assumed that the user has the general knowledge necessary for the handling of smart phones. The settings and use of the device is similar to that of hones and tablets. Some phone settings may require more in-depth knowledge and English language skills. The first part of this guide describes how to use the appliance independently without connecting the phone. The device can be entirely utilized without the use of a smart phone as well.

APPLICATION
This device is ideal as a replacement of conventional audio door phone systems or door bells. The device can be extended by connecting a second outdoor unit with a camera and two additional indoor units (not included). Furthermore, two arbitrary surveillance cameras (CCTV monitors) and two outdoor door opening or motion detectors can also be connected (not included). For the installation of these extensions you will need to contract a qualified technician and purchase accessories. A photograph can be taken of visitors either automatically or manually. The storage capacity for images can be extended by inserting a microSD card (not included) into the device. To record videos the microSD card is required as a prerequisite. In addition to the electric lock, a gate opening system can also be operated from the monitor, as necessary. This way doors and entrance gates can be opened even from a remote location for both people and vehicles.

Adequate audio- and image quality depends on the distance between each device and the cross-section of the cable used for connection. For the following connection distances we recommend using the indicated cable cross-section as a minimum requirement: 0-10m: 4×0.3mm2 / 10-30m: 4×0.5mm2 / 30-50m: 4×0.75mm2

In case a longer connecting cable is necessary, than the 10 meter long one included with the device, the suitable, 4-core cable shall be purchased separately by the customer. Ensure connection of the cable as instructed in case of both units. The order of coloured wires in the the outdoor unit terminals – from left to right – must be equivalent with that of the indoor unit! It should be checked in any case, but in general the following colours are used: green: AUDIO / black: (-) GND / yellow: VIDEO / red: +12V VCC
Terminals 5 and 6 of the outdoor device can be connected to an electric lock. A two-core wire should be used for this in the required length: 2×1.0mm2 (not included). If you have an electric lock installed, family members arriving home can conveniently open the lock using the supplied blue, contact-free proximity keys (RFID). A lock with a nominal supply voltage requirement of 12V/200mA (1Amax.) can be operate with the device. Above 200mA an external power supply unit must be used.
Hire a qualified technician for the commissioning of the door phone system! The device menu is available in a number of languages. Depending on the user, basic English proficiency may be required for commissioning.

COMMISSIONING

Outdoor unit
Ensure protection from weather conditions. Mount the outdoor unit in a location protected from precipitation and direct sunlight. Direct sunlight irradiating the unit can deteriorate image quality. Use a custom cover, if necessary. The outdoor unit is supplied from the monitor. Connect the unit using the spring connectors as shown on the wiring diagram. Microphone sensitivity (left side screw) and speaker volume (right side screw) can be adjusted on the rear side of the unit – using a screwdriver. After mounting the plastic frame of the outdoor unit, insert the locking tab located on the top rear part of the unit into the slot on the top of the mounting frame, then fasten the outdoor unit to the frame at the bottom with a short screw (included). Remove the protective foil from the lens, if present. In case of operation of an electric lock, it has to connected to the outdoor unit. If no gate opening circuit is used, then the output of the electric lock should not exceed the 12VDC/1A parameter values. For the operation of an electric lock with a larger poweroutput, an external transformer and relay needs to be used, however this is recommended in any case.

ALARM AND SURVEILLENCE SYSTEM CAPABILITY

This device can be applied as a central unit of a comprehensive domestic alarm and surveillance (CCTV) system. In addition to up to 2 outdoor units equipped with a camera, further two surveillance cameras (CCTV monitors) can be connected to the indoor unit, along with two door opening or motion detection switches. The image of any intruder will be displayed on the monitor, while a photograph is taken and a video is also recorded onto the microSD card (if) inserted into the indoor unit. A notification will be sent about the event to the linked phone. Consult a qualified technician about this solution with consideration to the given conditions at the installation site. The necessary additional accessories can be purchased separately from a specialized store, according to the wiring diagram shown above.

ACCEPTING A VISITOR
When the door bell button is pressed on the outdoor unit, both the outdoor and indoor units emit a repetitive sound signal (for up to 20sec long, depending on the given setting), and when the call is answered, the monitor turns on (30sec). The monitor will display the image of the visitor at the door. In case of multiple indoor units, the image of the visitor will be displayed on all indoor units, and the visitor can be given access to enter from either unit.

  • To talk to the visitor, press the large green phone button on the unit. The sound signal will stop, and you may start talking to the person. The door view screens will become inactive on other indoor units.
  • In case an electric lock is connected, the visitor can be allowed entry by pressing the lock opening button. Tap the door icon to activate the lock opening device. No sound signal is emitted. During the opening of the lock, the colour of the LED ring around the outdoor unit changes. The lock can only be opened from inside, if a connection has been established between the units – this prevents accidental opening of the lock. In case a gate opening system is connected, to open the gate, use the gate opening button. Tap the gate icon to activate lock opening contact (NO-COM-NC) on both primary and secondary devices. No sound signal is emitted.
  • Finally, end the call by tapping the red phone icon.
  • In case of two outdoor units, if the door bell button is pushed on both units (almost) at the same time, then the unit, where the button was pushed first will be prioritized. During the call the monitor will not indicate if a signal is received from the other outdoor unit – only when the call initiated from the first unit is ended.
  • The monitor turns off automatically after approx. 1 minute. This is how long a call can be maintained. Communication can be continued with the visitor, if necessary, by initiating door view mode.
  • If the call is not accepted, the monitor will turn off automatically after approx. 1 minute.
  • In ACCEPT mode a photograph can be taken manually by pressing the camera button in the bottom right corner of the screen, or video can be recorded by pressing the “R” icon. A photograph is taken, or the recording of an up to 25 sec long video is started at the moment when a ring tone emitted, depending on the settings under the SETTINGS (gearwheel icon) / Recording menu item. Upon accepting an incoming call, the recording will continue until the call is ended.
  • In case of two indoor units, an ongoing call cannot be diverted between the two units.

DOOR VIEW

In order take a look of the area around the entrance door (approx. 30 sec), press the button in standby mode. Two outdoor units with a camera and further 2 cameras can be connected to the indoor unit, with the indoor unit displaying the images of up to 4 cameras one after the other, by tapping the camera icons in the bottom left corner of the screen.

Tap the gate icon to activate the lock opening device with a simultaneous sound signal.
  • Finally, end the call by tapping the red phone icon.
  • To end the function, either tap the arrow icon in the top left corner of the screen, or wait approx.60 sec for the monitor to turn off.
  • In case of multiple indoor units, door view mode of the outdoor cameras can be initiated on any unit. The function can only be activated on one monitor at a time. The icon of the function turns inactive on the remaining monitors.
  • If a call is in progress with the outdoor unit and the CALL button is pressed on another outdoor unit, the call will be disconnected and the image of the new visitor will be displayed on the monitor. No call sound is emitted. The call will be accepted by the device automatically.
  • In mode a photograph can be taken manually by pressing the camera button in the bottom right corner of the screen, or video can be recorded by pressing the “R” icon.
  • When mode is activated, the outdoor unit indicates with a double beep sound that the camera of the unit is active. Door View mode stops after 30 seconds, which is indicated by the outdoor unit by a long beep sound. Activation of the camera on the outdoor unit for any reason, will be indicated in any case on the outdoor unit by a beep sound.
  • Caution! If the primary device is not in use, Door View cannot be initiated on the secondary indoor unit, and the gate opener will not be functional either.

TAKING A PHOTO OR RECORDING A VIDEO
When a visitor pushes the door bell, or when optional alarm system signals – depending on the menu setting – a photograph will be taken or a video recording will be started automatically. Security setting

| Operation: Contacts of the motion- / door opening detection sensors should be connected between the “Flip” and “GND” points on the CCTV connectors. Select “Security setting” mode on the screen. Two shield symbols indicate the two sensors. The device anticipates a signal from a normally closed contact. If the contact is open upon entering the “Security setting” menu, the shield will appear in grey colour, as inactive. If the contact is closed upon entering the menu, the shield will appear in white colour. If the shield is white and the contact is closed, tapping a shield will change its colour to green. Tapping the “Execute” button under the shield activates the alarm; the “Execute” label changes to “Finished”. If the contact opens, the device sets off an alarm and a siren sound will be emitted. The siren will only be emitted on the indoor unit. The entire screen changes to flashing red, and the “Security alarm” message is displayed, indicating the sensor that has detected the alarm event. By tapping the “Stop” button the siren can be shut off. In case the contact is reset to closed position, the alarm can be turned off using the “Stop” button and by entering the password. Alarm mode cannot be turned off until the contact is again closed. Using the “Automatic recording” (AUTO REC) button under this same menu item, the automatic recording of the camera connected to the given motion detector can be set (a 10 sec video). If an SD card has not been inserted into the device, only a photograph will be taken. To view the recording tap the “Review” icon on the main screen. By tapping the three vertical lines icon in the top right corner, the device displays the alarm history of the detectors. The siren will sound for 1 minute, after which it stops, if no action occurs. Only the monitor will display an alarm signal with a red flashing background image.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS ABOUT SECURITY SYSTEM FUNCTIONS
Manual panic alarm: by tapping the flashing red police icon in the top right corner of the screen, a siren sound will be emitted from the indoor units while the camera is active. In addition to the up to two outdoor units with a camera, a qualified technician can extend the door phone even further by an additional two surveillance cameras and two door opening or motion detection sensors. (CAM1/DOOR1 and CAM2/DOOR2 connectors on the primary – MASTER – indoor unit)
The alarm can be heard through the speaker of the indoor unit for approx. 120 seconds. If the END CALL button is tapped during this time, the sound signal stops. Depending on the menu setting a photograph can be taken or a video can be recorded automatically.

  • The two sensors can be fitted with either a normally closed or a normally open contact. The system recognizes these.
  • An external power supply is required for the optional and connectible sensors and additional surveillance (CCTV) cameras (without one only up to 12V/150mA power supply is available).
  • Alarm functions should be set by the qualified technician, who installs the system.

USING THE PROXIMITY KEYS (RFID)

If you have an electric lock, you can not only let guests in by the touch of a button while you are at home, but you and your family members can also conveniently enter when arriving home. By approaching one of the 5 included blue key cards towards the RFID module of the outdoor unit (located in the centre of the outdoor unit, indicated by the “CARD” label), the lock opens for a preset amount of time. This is indicated by a short sound signal emitted by the outdoor unit. The keys are aligned to your door phone via unique coding. (It can also be set under this menu item for the card reader to be active all the time, not only after pressing the door bell.) In addition to the door opening function, the RFID module of the outdoor unit can also be used for deleting and reassigning keys. Should you lose one of them or want to restrict the access of someone formerly given a key, you can delete all keys by a single move, so that unauthorized people cannot enter your home. After deletion, the blue key cards, which are still to be used, need to be reassigned to the door phone. The ones that are not reassigned (for example, the one that got lost), will no longer open the lock. If you wish to provide access to more than five persons – or you need to replace a lost or damaged key card – additional key card sets are also available for purchase: DPV 270RFID or other RFID125kHz type keys. You have to register these with the device before you can use them. Up to 24 keys can be paired with the system.

  • Meaning of colours:
blue user (USER) key for opening, red, delete (CLEAN) key, to delete all cards from the system at once, yellow (ADD) key for adding the blue key types. The cards supplied with the door phone are already configured for the unit. If necessary, you can use the following options.

  • Assigning (adding) a new blue, user key:
Move the yellow key close to the sensor. Two short beeps indicate that the device switched to add mode. Place the blue key you want to add close to the sensor. A long beep sound indicates successful adding of the given card. Adding of the blue key has to be confirmed by moving the yellow key close to the sensor. A long beep again indicates that adding was successful. Without this confirmation, the assigned (paired) blue key will not work. Then you can move on to the next blue key to be registered, and so on. After approx.30 seconds with no activity – or if the yellow key is touched to the sensor again – the device exits the key adding mode. This is confirmed by a long beep. Keys newly added will have the same code as the ones previously paired.

  • Delete all previously assigned (blue) keys:
Move the red, delete (CLEAN) key close to the sensor. A long beep indicates that you have deleted all blue user keys used so far. After the beep, the device returns to normal mode. In case use of the deleted key is attempted subsequently, the device emits a triple sound signal and does not open the lock. If required, the blue key cards, which are still to be used, can be paired again with the system using the yellow key. In case issues are experienced in the course of registration of the keys, contact an authorized service provider.

SMART MODES

Ring tone profiles – setting the place of stay
By tapping the last icon in the bottom row of the screen, the availability status of the user can be set.
At home: the visitor can push the door bell and talk to the person being at home. A notification is sent to the phone when the ringing cycle is finished. The visitor pushes the door bell, the ring tone can be heard on both the outdoor and indoor unit. A notification is sent to the phone.
Leave home: directly opens the message reminder, the visitor can leave a message, but the device also sends a notification to the phone. The visitor pushes the door bell, the following message is played on both the outdoor and indoor unit in English language: “I am currently away, please leave a message”. A 15 second video is recorded, containing the message of the visitor. After the ringing cycle, the device sends a notification to the phone, provided that the application is running normally in the background on the given phone. Notification content: “person in front of house”.
Sleep: when the door bell is pushed, the monitor screen is activated but remains silent. A message is sent to the phone when the ringing cycle is finished. Ringing can be heard from the outdoor unit. If the application is active on the phone, the phone will indicate the presence of the visitor using the normal method and sound.

  • Information about the call appears on the phone and a video call with the visitor can only established through the phone, if the application is not only running in the background, but it is active on the phone screen. An application running in the background only receives notifications. In order to allow entry to the given visitor, or to start a call, the Smart Life (Tuya Smart) application has to be started. Under application settings, voice messages have to be allowed.

ANDROID AND IOS MOBILE PHONE APPLICATIONS

Using the application on a mobile phone or tablet running the specified operating system (refer to app. store) and connected to the internet, the following main functions are available from anywhere in the world, provided that internet access is available at the place of your stay and where the device is in use (at home).

TAKING A PHOTOGRAPH AND SENDING A NOTIFICATION IF THE VISITOR PUSHES THE DOOR BELL – TALKING TO THE VISITOR, REMOTE OPENING OF DOOR LOCK, RECORDING A PHOTO OR VIDEO MANUALLY, MOTION DETECTION ALARM, DOOR VIEW MODE TO CHECK THE PROPERTY OR THE VEHICLE…

Find and install the Smart Life (or Tuya Smart) application in the Google Play or App Store application store (or an alternative source).home-2J3-1-DPV-
Smart-Video-Headset- \(1\)

Install an application (English language) to an Android or iOS phone, configure the basic settings of the application, and allow all access to data on the phone (data security permissions), which are required for the smooth cooperation of the two devices. The list of these permissions can be found in the app store, in the description of the programme. Access may be required for example to: location data, media content, storage, BT pairing and settings, prevent sleep mode, disable battery saver mode, launch app in background, display on top… In case of missing permissions, cooperation cannot be guaranteed! Some buttons, functions may not be functional and the application can crash and need to be restarted – until all required settings are configured! If you do not accept these terms, do not use the device with the application, only as a conventional appliance. The available functions and the necessary permissions may change with each software update.

  • The image of the visitor and the option to open the door lock will be displayed on the mobile phone, if the application is running in the background. This is also required to start a call. Otherwise, only a message will be received on the phone.
  • Due to the differences in mobile telephones and their operating systems, certain operating deficiencies and incompatibilities may arise, which are not caused by faults in the device. The connection may be affected by the software and hardware solutions of third parties; therefore, the operation, development, and changes are independent of the manufacturer of this product.
  • In the event of the defective operation of the application, please verify whether the latest updates have been installed. If necessary, uninstall and reinstall the application. Functions may change as a result of updates.
  • We cannot guarantee that all functions will match the descriptions in this manual due to reasons outside the control of the device manufacturer.

If the mobile phone has the right specifications and settings, and it is connected to a wireless network, additional functions become accessible. The device can be entirely utilized without the use of a smart phone as well. When writing this manual, we took into account the latest software version, which is continuously improved by the third party developer. We are unable to show the required permissions because those differ from device to device. Available functions are the ones introduced upon market entry of the device. Manufacturer or third party developments and software updates may result in changes to some functions and operation. The manufacturer of this product has no control over the functionality of the application that is generally available for use with various products.

The phone has to be connected to the Internet via the local 2.4GHz WiFi network. (If necessary, set the WiFi router accordingly.)

  1. Find and install the Smart Life (or Tuya Smart) application in an application store. This can also be done by scanning a QR code, which will open the application store. After installation, tap the “Login” button, if you already have a Smart Life (Tuya Smart) profile registered on the given phone. Then open the application. Ensure that the device and the smart phone are as close to the Wi-Fi router as possible, and they are both connected to it. If you do not yet have a Smart Life (Tuya Smart) profile registered on the given smart phone, tap the “Register” button.

    • Select the country, enter your e-mail address and tap the “request a verification code” button.
    • Enter the verification code received in e-mail, and provide a password to be used in the application, consisting of numbers and letters. You will be provided 60 seconds to complete this.
    • When done, the application is ready to be used.
  2. The next step is adding the device:

    • Connect the indoor unit of the door phone to the WiFi network. (Gearwheel icon in the top left corner to open the Settings / Wi-Fi menu item.)

    • When the device has established connection to the network, a QR code appears next to the name of the network. When tapped, the QR code is magnified to a size that can be scanned. •

    • By tapping the “red plus” symbol in the top left corner of the application screen, select the “Scan code” option from the drop down menu, and when the scanner is activated, scan the QR code from the monitor of the door phone.

    • The application will automatically establish a connection between the application and the door phone. When done, the application is ready to receive the call of the visitor, to open the gate, and to use door view through the outdoor unit.
If another user has already connected to the outdoor unit, the application will not allow a new user to connect to the door phone using the QR code. In this case, the authorization has to be shared.

    • You can share access through the application with your family members and friends. From the bottom row of the phone screen, select the “Home” menu item.

    • After tapping the “•••” icon in the top right corner, select “Shared devices” function.

    • Tap the “Add” menu item, select a country / region and enter the Smart Life (Tuya Smart) user name of the person, with whom you wish to share access to the door phone. Tap the “Execute” icon. An invitation will be sent to the authorized person. The invited person will have the same authorizations as those of the person sending the invitation.

    • WiFi router: The device supports only 2.4GHz connections; it cannot be connected to 5GHz networks. Set the WiFi router accordingly. The WiFi password may not contain any special characters, such as ~!@#$%&*… The name of the network and the password cannot be longer than 24 characters each. For the purpose of commissioning, place the device and the mobile phone close to the router and connect them both to the same WiFi network. If you later wish to connect it to another router, delete the device from the phone application and reset factory settings on the device. Carry out the above described configuration again.

    • The application is the property of a third party, features and setting options of the application may change without the knowledge and consent of the manufacturer of this device! A minimum level of English language knowledge may be necessary for using the application.
