Eagle EG740L Chain Secure
The EG740 Eagle Chain Secure is designed to quickly tighten the chain on a slide gate. Over time, a slide gate’s operating chain will need to be tightened. The EG740 Eagle Chain Secure allows this operation to be performed quickly and easily by merely cranking the chain-tightening wrench provided. A properly tightened chain will perform much better than a neglected chain that naturally “stretches out” over time. The stretched-out chain can cause damage and performance problems to the slide gate system.
Choose the Eagle Chain Secure Position (Left or Right)
- ONLY ONE Eagle Chain Secure is needed per slide gate.
- Eagle Chain Secure is typically installed on the SAME END of the gate as the gate operator when the gate is in the CLOSED position.
Chain Tightness
After the chain connection, turn the chain tightening wrench to tighten the
chain.
IMPORTANT: The chain can ONLY be tightened when Eagle Chain Secure is far
away from the gate operator (in the OPEN position). The chain should sag no
more than one (1) inch per 10 feet of travel. The chain can be easily
tightened over time as it naturally stretches out. Do not over-tighten the
chain.
Installation
- The chain locking gear MUST be mounted facing OUTWARD.
- The chain tightening wrench will ONLY fit in the chain locking gear opening.
