INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the Shaker Vortex Microplate Mixer User Manual. Users should read this Manual carefully, follow the instructions and procedures and beware of all the cautions when using this instrument.

WARRANTY

This instrument is warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service, for a period of 12 months from the date of invoice. It shall not apply to any product or parts which have been damaged on account of improper installation, improper connections, misuse, accident or abnormal conditions of operation.
For claims under the warranty please contact your local dealer.

This unit is supplied with 1 x main unit, power adaptor & user manual.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Warning!

  • Read the operating instructions carefully before use.
  • Ensure only trained staff use the instrument.

Protective ground contact

  • Make sure that the socket is earthed before use.
  • Wear the personal protective equipment by the hazard category of the media to be processed. Otherwise, there is a risk of:
    • Splashing of liquids.
    • Release of toxic or combustible gases.
  • Set up the appliance in a spacious area on an even, stable, clean, non-slip, dry and fireproof surface. Do not operate the appliance in explosive atmospheres, with hazardous substances or underwater.
  • Gradually increase the speed.
  • Reduce the speed if :
    • The medium splashes out of the vessel because of too high speed.
    • The appliance is not running smoothly.
  • Beware of hazards due to:
    • Overfilling of media
    • Unsafe container
  • Check the appliance and accessories beforehand for damage each time you use them. Do not use damaged components.
  • Always disconnect the plug before fitting accessories.
  • The operating voltage required on the type plate and voltage supply network must match.
  • The appliance may only be opened by trained staff.
  • Observe the minimum distances between the devices, between the device and the wall and above the assembly (min. 100 mm).

PROPER USE

The instrument is designed for mixing liquids in schools, laboratories or factories. This device is not suitable for use in residential areas or other areas that may cause danger to the user or instrument as mentioned in Chapter

TRIAL RUN

  • Make sure that the required operating voltage and power supply voltage match.
  • Plug in the power adapter.
  • Power on the device.
  • Set the rated mix speed and the device begins to work.
  • Power off the device.

If these operations above are normal, the device is ready to operate. If the operations are not normal, the device may be damaged during transportation, please contact your manufacturer/supplier for technical support.

CONTROL

OPERATION

  • Load and remove the microplate clamp
  • The microplate should be properly loaded to clamp from one side.

Speed range

  • Microplate clamp: 0-1500rpm.
  • Double microplate clamp: 0-1000rpm.

Safety instruction
The microplate clamp can cause damage once it is loaded and replaced more than 10 times.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

  • Proper maintenance can keep the instrument working and extend its lifetime.
  • Do not spray the cleanser into the instrument when cleaning.
  • Unplug the power line when cleaning.
  • Only use the cleanser as shown below:
DYES isopropyl alcohol
CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS water containing tenside/isopropyl alcohol
COSMETICS water containing tenside/isopropyl alcohol
FOODSTUFFS water containing tenside
FUELS water containing tenside
  • For materials that are not listed, please request information from the manufacturer/supplier.
  • Before using another method for cleaning or decontamination, the user must ascertain with the manufacturer/supplier whether this method will not harm the instrument.
  • Wear proper protective equipment during the cleaning of the instrument.

Note:

  • Electrical instruments may not be placed in the cleansing agent.
  • The instrument is a sophisticated electronic product; please avoid severe shaking during use and transportation.
  • The instrument must be cleaned and put into the initial packaging carton before sending for service, to avoid contamination.
  • Switch OFF the instrument and put it in a dry, clean, stable place at room temperature in long-term storage.
