OPERATION

Reinforce Learning Behaviours

If your dog understands command but responds slowly or inconsistently, the training collar can help reinforce learning behaviours.
For example, if you’ve trained your dog’s recall, but over time the response time becomes slower. You can use the training collar to reinforce your commands.

  1. Set the receiver collar to initial stimulation level and test it.
  2. Fit the receiver collar on your dog’s neck along with their regular collar.
  3. Let your dog walk around the training area. Give the command and simultaneously press one of the three training buttons.
  4. As soon as your dog moves toward you, release the training button and reward your dog’s behaviour with praise.
  5. If your dog stops before they reach you or turns away repeat the command and continue the vibration/beep. Again, stop immediately as your dog runs to you and reward them by praising him or feeding them a treat. Repeat this for 3 or 4 times.

Tips:

  1. If your dog doesn’t respond after the first few times, do not give up and do not increase the stimulation. Instead continue the training a couple of times per day.
  2. During the training period never give commands if you are not able to enforce it with the training collar. Your dog must make the mental connection between the vibration/ beep to his behaviour (this may take a week or more depending on your dog).
  3. Train up to 3 dogs with one remote transmitter (additional receiver sold separately).

Note:

  • Training collars are used to train the dogs and not for punishment.
  • Used properly and with care, the collar is a safe and effective tool to train, build communication and strengthen your bond with your dog.

Training & Automatic Anti Bark Modes

This product also features an Anti Bark mode. By default, it will be in training mode.

  • To turn Anti Bark mode on, with the transmitter turned on, press and hold the remote power button for 3 seconds, the receiver will “beep” once indicating Anti Bark mode is enabled.
  • To turn the Anti Bark mode off, with the transmitter turned on, press and hold the remote power button for 3 seconds, the receiver will “beep” twice indicating Anti Bark mode is disabled.

Anti bark mode:

Pawever-Pets-PPANTIBDTCA-Rechargeable-Anti-Bark-and-Dog-Training-Collar-
fig-6

  • When the dog barks, the receiver will produce a 2-second warning sound.
  • If a second bark occurs within 30 seconds, the receiver will produce a 3-second warning sound.
  • If a third bark occurs within 30 seconds, the receiver will play a warning sound for 5 seconds along with a weak vibration. This will help train your dog to not bark upon hearing the warning sound.
  • This cycle repeats up to 7 times. Initially, the warnings consist of sound only for the first two instances. If barking persists, subsequent triggers activate the sound & vibration mode for cycles 3 through 7. The intensity of the vibration gradually increases to guide your dog’s behaviour effectively.

Automatic protection:

  • Regardless of how frequently the barking device is triggered, it automatically resets and reverts to its initial standby state once the dog ceases barking for 30 seconds.
  • As a safeguard for your dog, the indicator light switches to rapid flashing mode if the device is activated 7 times consecutively. Subsequently, the barking device pauses for 1 minute before returning to its initial standby mode, ensuring your dog’s well-being.

Fitting the Collar

  1. Proper positioning is crucial for effective and safe pet training. Position the receiver on the bottom of your pet’s neck.
  2. Maintain a space between the receiver collar and your pet’s neck that allows for the insertion of one finger. Avoid making it too loose, as this could significantly impact the effectiveness of the vibration.
  3. The receiver collar can be trimmed to ensure a comfortable, safe fit for your dog.

Setting the Initial Training Level Intensity

Knowing the intensity of each mode will be helpful to control the stimulation.
To set the initial training intensity level you must first determine the lowest stimulation that will clearly get your dog’s attention by the following steps:

  1. Set intensity to at zero using the “-” button.
  2. Fit the collar properly on your dog’s neck and start the training.
  3. If the dog does not focus on you, begin the stimulation and progressively increase the levels until your dog responds to the beep/vibration.

Note:

  • Every dog is individual and unique. Some are more sensitive than others and some learn more slowly or quickly. Be sure to test out each level on each individual dog.

WARNING

  • If your dog yelps or jumps, this indicates that the level is too high.

Stopping Unwanted Behaviour

For this type of training, you need to set the collar at a predetermined stimulation level as outlined in the “Setting the Initial Training Level Intensity” section.

  1. Let your dog roam in the area where they might misbehave, for example eating from the rubbish.
  2. Get yourself out of sight or at a discreet distance and wait.
  3. When the dog misbehaves, press one of the training buttons. This will cause your dog to associate the signal with their misbehaviour. If your dog doesn’t respond, you can increase the level.

Note

  • Timing is crucial. Catching the unwanted behaviour and sending the signal at the precise moment can drastically shorten training time.

Training Advice

  • Collar Wise: It is important that your dog is NOT aware that the correction is coming from the collar. Otherwise, they will not misbehave when wearing the collar but continue the unwanted behaviour when the collar is off. This is referred to as “collar-wise”.
    • Note: Before training let your dog wear the collar for 5-7 days (no more than 8 hours per day) so that he can be accustomed to the weight of the collar and believe it is just another normal collar.
  • Positive Reinforcement: It will be helpful if you praise your dog as soon as it responds to the collar. Reward is with a pat, verbally or with a treat.
    • Note: Do not let your dog become aware that it is you causing the stimulation around its neck. Rather, let your dog associate the sensation with bad behaviour.

FAQ

Q: How old can my pet be to use training collar?

A: Avoid using on puppies younger than 6 months.

Q: Once my pet is trained and obedient, is it still necessary for my pet to wear the receiver collar?

A: It may be beneficial to periodically use the receiver collar to reinforce your pet's training.

A: Yes, you can add 1 or 2 receiver collars to train 2 or 3 pets, as the remote transmitter supports 3 dog channels.

Q: What is the effective distance the receiver collar?

A: The effective distance can reach up to 1km between the remote transmitter and receiver collar without obstacles. However, various factors such as signal strength, obstacles, and environmental conditions can affect the actual effective range.

Q: How will I know when to charge the batteries?

A: For the remote transmitter, a battery symbol will appear on the LCD screen. For the Receiver Collar, a 10-second beep indicates low battery.

Q: How long can I leave the receiver collar on my dog?

A: The receiver collar should not be worn constantly. It's recommended not to exceed 12 hours of wear within a 24-hour period. Regularly check your pet if worn for longer durations.
