CONNECTING SETUP

SOURCE MODE OR PREAMPLIFIER (BY-PASS)

This device can be used as a source (like a CD player) or as a preamplifier which gives the ability to control the volume. The diagrams below show the wiring possibilities according to these different applications.

ATOLL-ELECTRONIQUE-MS120-Roon-Ready-Streamer-FIG \(6\)

TRIGGER LINK

This appliance is equipped with a Trigger that allows the switch OFF/ON of any amplifier equipped with the same kind of Trigger inputs (ATOLL amplifier). Appliances must be linked as shown below:ATOLL-ELECTRONIQUE-MS120-Roon-
Ready-Streamer-FIG \(7\)

When the system is operating, the ON/OFF switch of your power amplifier must remain in position OFF (position (0)). If the switch is in the ON position (I), the amplifier will work but not the Trigger function.

Trigger cable must be a stereo Male to Male jack plug Ø 3,5 mm (1/8”).

Therefore, each time the Streamer comes out of standby, the amplifier will switch on. It will also turn off each time it is put on standby.

PREAMP. / BY-PASS FUNCTIONS

VOLUME:

The volume is managed using the buttons (21) of the front panel or the remote control. The volume level is displayed for a few seconds on the screen, and it always remains indicated at the top of the display. On start-up, the volume is still the one that remained previously. Volume at zero corresponds to a complete “MUTE” of the device with switching of the output relay.

SOURCES:

Your appliance has 6 inputs (unless USB, media server, Bluetooth®): Line 1 / Line 2 / Coaxial 1 / Coaxial 2 / Optical 1 / Optical 2 These sources can be renamed from the ATOLL Signature (2) application: Settings / Rename local inputs.
NB.: The selected source is always followed on the display by a symbol *.

CONNECTION:

Particular case: BY-PASS assignment of an input for connection to a home cinema system. Entry into BY-PASS function is only possible on Analog inputs 1 and 2. In this case, the volume management function is inoperative on the selected input. To switch to this mode: select Analog input 1 or 2 then hold the BY-PASS button (29) on the remote control for 3 seconds. When the BY-PASS is active, the led (a) is on. When an input is selected in BY-PASS mode, it will remain memorized in this mode even if the source is changed or the power is turned off. To deactivate this mode, press the BY-PASS button on the remote control for 3 seconds.

USES

GETTING STARTED

Before switching on your appliance, connect the network cable (RJ45) to input (11). For much better results and best performances, we highly recommend to uses a wired connection. Wait for the start-up screen to appear before any manipulation. You can use the buttons of navigation (17) of the remote control or the front panel to select the different menus. On the first connection (or changes in the network configurations) you will have to check the network settings of your appliance. If this setup is not perfectly settled, some of the functions of the streamer (internet radios or reading music of your server) will not be operated. Available menus:

  • Playlists.
  • Internet radio.
  • USB.
  • Media Server.
  • Qobuz.
  • Tidal.
  • Deezer.
  • Amazon Music
  • HighResAudio.
  • Spotify.
  • Bluetooth.
  • Line 1 and 2.
  • Coaxial 1 and 2.
  • Optical 1 and 2.
  • Settings.

Connecting an RJ45 cable automatically launched the network link. If this is done correctly ( not blinking), your network is correctly configured. The following paragraph is optional in your case.

NETWORK CONFIGURATION

Wired: In the case of a wired connection, the association is done automatically after a few seconds. The symbol indicates that the wired connection is established. Your device is then ready to operate. Wireless: When you first plug in your device (or if you change network configurations), you must configure the connection between your Streamer and your network. Without this configuration, the operation of internet radios and the playback of files present on your network will be ineffective.

  • Go to the “Settings / Network configuration / Network type” menu.
  • You will need to choose the type of network: “Automatic”, “Wired” or “Wireless”.
  • Automatic: Connecting an RJ45 cable automatically launches the network connection. This menu allows you to choose the network connection by prioritizing the wired connection, that is to say that when the device is wired, the connection will automatically switch to wired. When no cable is connected, then the connection switches to WIFI.
  • Wired: You can switch to automatic mode (DHCP) or enter a static IP address.
  • Wireless: In the case of a “wireless” connection, the device will allow you to find available wireless networks. We advise you to use WPS to associate your device with your internet box (if available on it). First activate WPS on your box, then press the WPS button (30) on the remote control, or from the menu:

“Settings / Network configuration / Wireless configuration / WPS PBC”.

The screen displays “WPS in progress” and then, when the connection is established, it displays “Connected”. If WPS is not possible, press “Scan”. All wireless networks available in your environment will be displayed. Select the one corresponding to yours. Enter, respecting capital letters and without spaces, the WIFI security key which appears below your internet box. Validate your password by pressing the “OK” key.

  • Download the ATOLL Signature (2) application on your smartphone or tablet, do not try to open this application yet.
