Important Pre-Installation Notes
Insulation behind DoorStore: The DoorStore has not been designed for use with insulation. However, many customers have still used insulation successfully. If you do this, you must ensure the DoorStore still fits tightly against the door metal. Any bulging could lead to scratching the outside of the van upon opening.
Lining the DoorStore: If you’ve covered your DoorStore with fabric, you must be extra careful to ensure the DoorStore sits tightly against the door metal before opening. Any bulging could lead to scratching the outside of the van upon opening.
Installation Steps
- Remove whatever is currently on your door panel. For VW T6.1 Vans: You will need to bend down the 3 metal tabs to ensure they don’t interfere with installation.
- Present the DoorStore panel to your door, aligning the CNC cut holes with the OEM fixing holes in your door and insert the poppers as shown.
- Once pushed through, the popper end will expand to secure the DoorStore as shown.
- Please note: The three poppers that go across the ridge of the DoorStore will be very tight. The door has a concave shape so you need to press firmly on the ridge (X) with one hand while inserting the popper with the other.
- Before opening, ensure the DoorStore is sitting tightly against the door metal to avoid any contact with your van metal. This is especially important if you have covered your DoorStore with fabric or used insulation behind it.
Additional Tips and Warnings
- A set of trim tools will help with the removal of your trim clips.
- Press your poppers in firmly to ensure the DoorStore sits tightly against the door metal. If it doesn’t sit tightly, it could scratch the van’s exterior when opened.
- Important: When using your DoorStore, never leave any items hanging over the edge of the pockets as this could lead to scratching the van exterior when opening the sliding door.
