Installation Instructions
Preparing the Cut-Out
- Begin by cutting out the work surface according to the sizes shown in the diagram below.
- For the purpose of installation and use, ensure you leave a minimum of 5cm space around the cut out.
- Be sure the thickness of the work surface is at least 30mm. Please select a heat-resistant and insulated work surface material (Wood and similar fibrous or hygroscopic material should be avoided unless impregnated) to avoid the risk of electrical shock and larger deformation caused by the heat radiation from the hotplate. As shown below:
The safety distance between the sides of the cooktop and the inner surfaces of the worktop should be at least 3mm.
- Under all circumstances, make sure the ceramic cooktop is well ventilated and the air inlet and outlet are not blocked. Ensure the ceramic cooktop is in good working state (as shown below).
- Please refer to your rangehood’s user manual for exact minimum clearances from the top of the cooktop surface to your rangehood.
Please Note: Regarding adjacent walls, cupboards and protection for combustible materials: Always ensure that the appliance is installed in accordance with AS/NZS 5601.1, or AS/NZS 5601.2 with regard to clearances to combustible surfaces and materials, and clearances to rangehoods and exhaust fans.
Ensuring Adequate Ventilation
- Make sure the ceramic cooktop is well ventilated and that air inlet and outlet is not blocked. In order to avoid accidental touch with the overheating bottom of the cooktop, or getting unexpected electric shock during working, it is necessary to put a wooden insert, fixed by screws, at a minimum distance of 25mm from the bottom of the cooktop. Follow the requirements below.
- IMPORTANT: There are ventilation holes around the outside of the hob. YOU MUST ensureb that these holes are not blocked by the worktop when you are placing the hob into position.
- The glue that joins the material to the cabinetry must be resistant to temperatures of 150°C to avoid damage.
- The rear wall, adjacent and surrounding surfaces must therefore be able to withstand an temperature of 90°C.

- The wall and induced heating zone above the work surface must withstand high temperatures.
- To avoid any damage, the sandwich layer and adhesive must be resistant to heat.
- Do not use a steam cleaner to clean the cooktop.
Applying the Fixing Brackets
- The unit should be placed on a stable, smooth surface (such as the packaging). Do not apply force onto the controls protruding from the hob. Fix the hob on the work surface by screwing in the four brackets on the bottom of hob after installation (see diagram A below).
IMPORTANT!
- When applying the brackets, ensure you adjust the brackets’ position to suit your particular work surface’s thickness. Under no circumstances are the brackets to touch with the inner surfaces of the worktop after installation (see diagram B below).
Connecting the Hob to the Mains Power Supply
- The power supply should be connected in compliance with the relevant standard, or a single-pole circuit breaker. The method of connection is shown above.
- If the cable is damaged or needs replacing, this should be done by an after-sales technician using the proper tools, so as to avoid any accidents.
- If the appliance is being connected directly to the mains supply, an omnipolar circuit breaker must be installed with a minimum gap of 3mm between the contacts.
- The installer must ensure that the correct electrical connection has been made and that it complies with safety regulations.
- The cable must not be bent or compressed.
- The cable must be checked regularly and only replaced by a properly qualified person.

Operating Instructions
Using the Touch Controls
- Read this user manual carefully, taking special note of the ‘Safety Information’ chapter in particular.
- Ensure you remove any protective film that may still be on your cooktop surface after unpacking.
- The controls respond to touch, so you don’t need any pressure. Use the pad of your finger, not the tip.
- You will hear a beep each time a touch is registered.
- Make sure the controls are always clean, dry, and that there is no object (e.g. a utensil or a cloth) on top. Even a thin film of water or food particles may make the controls unresponsive and difficult to operate.
Choosing the Right Cookware
- Do not use cookware with jagged edges, coarse or uneven surfaces, chipped bottoms or a curved base.
- Make sure that the base of your pan is smooth, sits flat against the glass, and is the same size as the cooking zone. Always center your pan on the cooking zone.
- Always lift pans off the ceramic hob—do not slide them, as they may scratch the glass.
- Cooking With Your Ceramic Cooktop Touch the Power button to turn the cooktop on. After the cooktop has been powered on, a buzzer tone will sound once, followed by the indicators lighting up for one second. This indicates that the ceramic cooktop is powered on, and has entered standby.
- Place a suitable pan on the cooking zone you wish to use, referencing page 11. Make sure the bottom of the pan and the surface of the cooktop are clean and dry, that the cookware’s diameter corresponds to the size of the zone, and that the surface of the cookware is smooth and flat, devoid of any jagged edges or a coarse or uneven surface.
- Adjust the zone’s heat setting by using the corresponding – and +buttons. If you don’t choose a heat setting within one minute, the cooktop will automatically switch off, and you will need to start again from the beginning. You can modify the heat settings at any time during cooking.
- To turn off a cooking zone once cooking had completed, simply turn the temperature of the relevant zone to ‘o ’ using the relevant- and + buttons. Alternatively you can hold both the – and + buttons for several seconds, which will achieve the same result.
- ‘H ’ will show on your display to indicate that the cooking zone is hot to touch. The cooktop will stop displaying ‘H ’ once the surface has cooled down to a safe temperature, cool enough to touch. ‘H ’ can also be used an energy saving function if you want to continue heating cookware using the zone that is still hot.
- To turn the cooktop off, press the power button until the indicators are no longer lit. Keep in mind that the cooktop’s surface may be hot to the touch for some time. Safety precautions are strongly encouraged, particularly if children are present. After cooking is completed, avoid touching the surface of the cooktop, or leaving objects on top or nearby the cooktop.
Using the Timer Function
The Timer function can be used in two ways, either as a minute minder (kitchen timer), or as a way to automatically turn off cooking zones after a set period of time. The timer can be set up to 99 minutes.
Using the Timer as a Minute Minder:
-
To adjust the timer, use the clock’s and buttons to set the timer. Each press of the and buttons increases or decreases the time by 1 minute, as shown by the minute display.
Holding either the or buttons while selecting a time will increase the units by 10 minutes, instead of 1. Please note that the time set cannot exceed 99 minutes. Hold the and buttons together to cancel the timer at any point in the process. The display will show ‘– ’. -
When the time has been set, after a moment the minute display will flash for 5 seconds and begin to count down.
-
Once the set time has elapsed, a tone will sound for 30 seconds, and the minute display will show ‘– ’.
Using the Timer to Shut Down Cooking Zones:
- First touch the – or + buttons for the particular zone you would like to apply the timer.
- Follow step 1. of ‘Using the Timer as a Minute Minder’. A red decimal point will illuminate, indicating that the particular zone has had the timer selected.
- When the timer has elapsed, the corresponding zone will switch off automatically. Other zones will continue to operate as normal.
Activating the Child Safety Lock
It is possible to lock the cooktop controls to prevent any unintended use.
When the controls are locked, all of the controls will disabled, except for
the Power button.
To lock the controls:
- First touch the Child Safety Lock button , the display will show ‘L¤ ’, indicating that the Child Safety Lock has been activated.
- To unlock the cooktop, ensure the cooktop is turned on. Next, touch and hold the Child Safety Lock button for several seconds and the cooktop will then unlock.
Auto-Shutdown Protection
Auto-Shutdown is a safety function designed to protect the cooktop. In the
event that the cooktop is accidentally left running, the cooktop will
automatically shutdown after a set period of time. Despite this automatic
safety feature, it is still strongly recommended to exercise awareness when
cooking to avoid endangering yourself or your family.

---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Shut Down In: | 8hr | 8hr | 8hr | 4hr | 4hr | 4hr | 2hr | 2hr | 2hr |
When a pot has been removed from the cooktop, the zone will stop heating immediately, and will automatically switch itself off after two minutes.
Over-Temperature Protection
Your appliance contains an in-built temperature sensor that monitors the
temperature inside the cooktop. If an excessive build-up of heat is monitored,
the cooktop will automatically stop operation.

Care & Maintenance
Care and Cleaning Guide
Marks, Blemishes or Spots | Solution | Warning |
---|
Everyday soiling on glass.(fingerprints, marks, stains left by food or non- sugary spillovers)|
- Switch the power to the cooktop off at the wall.
- Apply a ceramic cooktop cleaner while the glass is still warm (but ensure it is not hot!)
- Rinse and wipe dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
- Switch the power to the cooktop back on.
| When the power to the cooktop is switched off, there will be no ‘hot
surface’ indication but the cooking zone may still be hot! Take care.
Heavy-duty scourers, some nylon scourers and harsh/abrasive cleaning agents
may scratch the glass. Always read the label to check if your cleaner is
suitable. Never leave cleaning residue on the cooktop as it may become a
stain.
Boil-overs, melts, and hot sugary spills on the glass.| Remove these
immediately with a fish slice, palette knife or scraper suitable for ceramic
cooktops, but beware of hot cooktop surfaces:
- Switch the power to the cooktop off at the wall.
- Hold the blade or utensil at a 30° angle and scrape the soiling or spill towards a cooler area.
- Clean the soiling or spill up with a dish cloth or paper towel.
- Follow steps 2 to 4 above.
| Remove stains left by melts, sugary food or spillovers ASAP. If left to cool
on the glass, they may be difficult to remove or even permanently damage the
glass surface. Cut Hazard: When the safety cover is retracted, the blade
in a scraper is razor-sharp. Use with extreme care and always store safely and
out of reach of children.
Spillovers on the touch controls.|
- Switch the power to the cooktop off at the wall.
- Soak up the spill
- Quickly wipe the touch control area with a clean and damp sponge or cloth.
- Wipe the area completely dry with a paper towel.
- Switch the power to the cooktop back on.
| The cooktop may beep and turn itself off, and the touch controls may not function while there is liquid on them. Make sure you wipe the touch control area dry before turning the cooktop back on.
Troubleshooting
For Minor Faults
Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|
The cooktop cannot be turned on. | No power is going to the cooktop. |
- Ensure the cooker is connected to the power, and is switched on.
- Check if there is a power outage in your home or area. If the problem persists contact our Support Team for guidance.
The touch controls won’t respond, or are difficult to operate.| The controls may be locked, or there may be a slight film of water on the controls. You may be using the tip of your finger as opposed to the pad when touching controls.|
- Unlock the controls, see page 13.
- Make sure the touch controls are properly dry, and to use the pad of your finger rather than the tip.
The cooktop has been scratched.| Rough-edged cookware, or unsuitable cleaning products such as an abrasive scourer may have been used on the cooktop.|
- Use cookware with flat and smooth bases. See page 11.
Some of my cookware makes crackling or clicking noises.| This may be caused by the build of your cookware, as different layers of metals vibrate.|
- This is normal for cookware to make these noises, and does not indicate a fault.
The cooktop, or one of the zones has turned off unexpectedly, and a tone is sounding alongside an error code on the display.| This may be the result of a technical fault. To identify the fault code and its meaning, read the table on Fault Codes found on page 16.|
- Note down the error letters and numbers, switch off the power from the wall and contact our Support Team via 1300 11 4357 or by sending our team an email at
support@residentiagroup.com.au
For Serious Faults:
- Some minor faults can be fixed by referring to the table on page 15, however if an emergency or serious fault occurs, immediately set all controls to their off positions and disconnect the power from the source.
- If a serious fault occurs, DO NOT attempt any repairs yourself, instead wait for a service agent to do so.
- For any assistance or to organize an authorised service agent contact our Support Team by calling 1300 11 4357, or by emailing support@residentiagroup.com.au.
- Please note that if a service agent is asked to attend whilst the product is under warranty and finds that the problem is not the result of an appliance fault, then you may be liable for the cost of the call out charge.
- The appliance must be accessible for the service agent to perform any necessary repair. If your appliance is installed in such a way that a service agent is concerned that damage will be caused to the appliance or your kitchen, then they will not complete a repair.
- Please refer to the Warranty Information to learn more.
