Product Usage Instructions
Over The Air (OTA) Update
- From the IFP: Go to Settings > System > System Update.
- Enroll devices in Bytello DMS and start the OTA update remotely from Advanced > Firmware Update.
- For detailed registration and enrollment information, refer to the Bytello DMS Users guide here.
Manual Update using USB Drive
- Extract the firmware upgrade files and move the folder ‘upgrade_xxxx’ to the root folder of a FAT-formatted USB disk.
- Insert the USB Drive into the front right USB port of the IFP.
- Input ‘1 3 7 9’ from the IFP remote to bring up the Admin DEBUG MENU.
- In the Admin Debug Menu, navigate to UPGRADE and choose ‘Upgrade All’.
Note: The entire installation and reboot process can take up to 10 minutes. The firmware update may reboot multiple times. Do not interact with the IFP until the update is complete to avoid potential issues.

Usage Instructions
IFP Firmware Upgrades
V7 IFP firmware can be updated using the following methods.

Over The Air (OTA) updates.
a. From the IFP: Settings>System>System Update
b. Enroll their devices in Bytello DMS and start the OTA update remotely. Advanced>Firmware Update Please see the Bytello DMS Users guide here for registration and enrollment information: -
USB Disk Updates.
- Note: When updating via USB, the IFP settings will be cleared. If you don’t want the settings of the IFP cleared, we recommend the OTA update.
- The firmware download files for USB disk updates are available on the www.v7world.com website. There are two available methods for USB Disk update:
IFP Power Button firmware update method:
- Extract the contents and move the folder “upgrade_xxxx” to the root folder of an exFAT-formatted USB disk
- Insert the USB Drive into the IFP front right USB port
- Power off the IFP by holding down the power button for a few seconds (if the power button light is not red, turn the bottom power switch off and on again)
- Push and hold the power button until the screen says “System Updating” and then you can let go (can take up to 20 seconds).
IFP Admin menu firmware update method:
- Extract the contents and move the folder “upgrade_xxxx” to the root folder of a FAT-formatted USB disk
- Insert the USB Drive into the IFP front right USB port
- Input 1 3 7 9” from the IFP remote to bring up the Admin DEBUG MENU
- Go to UPGRADE in the Admin Debug Menu, then choose “Upgrade All
- It can take as much as 10 minutes to complete the entire installation and reboot.
- The firmware update usually takes 5-10 minutes and may reboot multiple times.
- Please wait to make sure the firmware update is complete before touching anything on the IFP or problems can occur.
