Safety Cautions

• This device complies with international safety standards.

• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• Do not use your device near any heat sources.
• Do not put anything else in the cooking jug except for coffee, sugar and water.
• Never use the cooking jug on other heaters or with any other type of connection.
• Keep the power cord away from the open flame or any hot surfaces.
• Do not use the appliance if the power cord or the appliance is damaged. In case of such damage, please contact an authorized service centre.
• Mains power supply must conform to the information specified on the nameplate of the device.
• Always use your appliance with a grounded socket.
• Do not use your appliance outdoors. Your product is designed for home use only.
• Do not immerse your appliance in water.

Technical Data

Operating

Before operating the appliance for the first time:
Make sure your appliance is standing firmly and balanced in an upright position on a flat, clean, dry and non-slip surface.

Cooking

• Plug in the power cord. You will hear a short beep signal if the cooking jug is inserted in the housing.
• Adjust the water amount according to the number of people and your preference. First, add water and then add coffee and sugar to the cooking jug.
• We recommend stirring the ingredients with a wooden spoon to break down any lumps of ground coffee before inserting the cooking jug into the housing.
• Insert the cooking jug into the housing. You will hear a short beep when the contacts on the jug are plugged in the socket in the housing. Repeat the process if you do not hear the beep sound.
• Press the start button. Cooking start signal will be emitted and housing inner light will be ON.

Note: The cooking times were measured under laboratory conditions and are given for a Turkish coffee cup with a capacity of 65 ml. Time may vary depending on usage conditions.

• If you remove the cooking jug from the housing for any reason, the cooking process will be cancelled. In such case, the process has to be restarted.
• Device beeps when the cooking process is complete. Inner light will be ON and the start button will be blinking in blue colour for about 20 seconds. Then, the inner light and the start button will turn off.
• When the coffee cooking process is complete, pour the coffee into cups and serve immediately.
• Clean the cooking jug by inserting the plug. Always clean the cooking jug after each use, otherwise any residue will affect the flavour the next time you make coffee.

Warnings

• The device is designed for making Turkish coffee only. You can make frothy Turkish coffee according to your taste by using appropriate measures in the table below (information is given for 1 person / cup of coffee).

• Prepare the water, coffee and sugar mixture just before you make coffee; otherwise you cannot get a delicious result.
• Do not use the appliance for any other purpose except coffee making, including water boiling.
• When you make the coffee, do not use milk or other extras. Only use water.
• Use the measuring scoop provided with the product.
• For a delicious cup coffee, make sure the cooking jug is dry and clean.
• Display window on the cooking jug must be clean during use. Otherwise, the coffee machine cannot detect the amount of coffee.
• Do not fill the cooking jug above the maximum level. The appliance will not work, the status light will blink in red, and a warning signal will be emitted to alert to you.
• Do not submerge any part of the cooking jug or the appliance into water.

Cleaning and maintenance

• Unplug the device before cleaning.
• Attach the protection cap to the cooking jug, then clean the cooking jug interior under running water. Make sure water does not reach the cooking jug contacts

Cleaning warnings

• Do not use abrasive cleaners, metal objects or hard brushes to clean the appliance.
• Do not immerse the device or supply cord in water or any other liquid.
• Clean the cooking jug bottom surface with a soft sponge. Do not use a wire sponge as it may scratch the bottom surface of the cooking jug. Be careful not to scratch this surface.
• Never wash the cooking jug in the dishwasher.
• Use a damp and soft cloth to clean and wipe the appliance. Use a mild detergent if necessary.

To clean any white streaks on the cooking jug’s bottom surface without damaging the inner surface, pour 1 cup of hot water into the cooking jug and add half a cup of vinegar or juice of 1 or 2 lemons. Rinse the jug thoroughly before using it again.

This equipment is labelled in compliance with the European Directive 2012/19/EC on waste electric and electronic equipment – WEEE. The Directive specifies the requirements for collection and management of waste electric and electronic equipment effective in the entire European Union.

ENVIRONMENT

At the end of the appliance’s useful life, do not discard it with common household waste. Take is to an authorized recycling centre. This will help preserve the environment.
