Description
Proxicast Coaxial Lightning Arrester for 0 to 3 GHz (UHF-Female/UHF-Female)
General Description
- This 230V gas discharge tube coaxial lightning surge protector features UHF Female SO-239 connectors and wide-band operation from DC to 3 GHz with low RF insertion loss. It effectively dissipates the excess energy caused by lightning strikes, preventing it from reaching your precious equipment. It can absorb up to 2.5 times the energy of standard 90V arresters.
- The arrester has female SO239 sockets for in-line installation into your coax cable feed line, providing reliable protection with minimal signal loss.
- This antenna surge protector will pass DC, so it is suitable for applications where DC is carried through the coax cable, such as remote amplifiers and LNAs. Both connector ports are equally protected – it can be installed in either orientation. A ground lug on the housing provides superior grounding.
- Pro-Grade arresters are constructed of high-quality materials to withstand the harshest weather conditions.
- A coaxial lightning suppressor should be installed between outdoor antennas and radio equipment and as close as possible to the equipment to be protected, often at the point where the coax cable enters the building. This protects equipment, structures and personnel from high-energy electrical pulses carried through the coax cable either from a direct or nearby lightning strike
- Consult your local building, fire, safety, or insurance codes for proper lightning protection system design for your application.
- All outdoor coax connections should be weather-proofed to minimize damage caused by moisture in the connectors or cabling. Use our Self-Bonding silicone tape (ANT-900-002) for fast and easy connection sealing.
