Descaling
Descaling Ocina hot water dispenser
It is important to descale your hot water dispenser after then hours of use.
Below you will find the recommendation on how you could descale the Ocina hot
water dispenser. The Machine also has a notification sign when the cumulative
heating time reaches ten hours the descaling light flashes. It is important to
descale the hot water dispenser after this notification. If you want to reset
the notitifaction follow the following instruction: 1. “Long press the “start”
for 5 seconds to refresh the timing and turn off the descaling light.
Descaling a hot water dispenser follows a similar process to descaling a water
kettle. Hot water dispensers are designed to dispense hot water quickly, so
they can also develop scale buildup over time. Here’s how to descale a hot
water dispenser:
Materials you’ll need:
- Descaling solution (vinegar or citric acid)
- Water
- Soft cloth or sponge
- A scrub brush (if needed)
- Gloves (optional)
Step 1 Safety Precautions
Ensure that the hot water dispenser is unplugged and completely cool before
you start the descaling process. Wearing gloves is advisable, especially if
you are using a descaling solution like vinegar or citric acid.
Step 2 Prepare the Descaling Solution
You can use either vinegar or citric acid to create a descaling solution,
similar to descaling a kettle.
For vinegar: Mix equal parts of white vinegar and water. The quantity needed
will depend on the size of your hot water dispenser.
For citric acid: Dissolve about 2-3 tablespoons of citric acid in a cup of
warm water.
Step 3 Empty the Water Tank
Remove any water from the hot water dispenser’s tank. Make sure the tank is
completely empty.
Step 4 Fill the Dispenser with the Descaling Solution
Pour the descaling solution (vinegar or citric acid) into the water tank until
it’s about halfway full. You may dilute it slightly with water if you’re using
a concentrated solution.
Step 5 Dispense the Solution
Turn on the hot water dispenser and allow it to dispense the descaling
solution. You may need to let it run through the system completely.
Step 6 Let It Soak
Once the descaling solution has passed through the dispenser, turn off the
unit and unplug it. Let the solution sit inside the dispenser for at least
15-30 minutes. This allows the acid to dissolve scale deposits within the
system.
Step 7 Rinse Thoroughly
Empty the tank again and rinse it thoroughly with clean water.
You may need to rinse it a few times to ensure that all the vinegar or citric
acid residue is removed.
Step 8 Boil Clean Water (Optional)
Depending on your hot water dispenser’s design, you may need to heat and
dispense clean water through the system to ensure that any remaining traces of
the descaling solution are removed.
Consult your dispenser’s user manual for specific instructions on this step.
Step 9 Wipe the Exterior
Don’t forget to wipe the exterior of the hot water dispenser with a damp cloth
to remove any residue.
Step 10 Repeat if Necessary
If there are still scale deposits present after the first descaling attempt,
you can repeat the process as needed until the hot water dispenser is clean
and functioning efficiently.
Maintenance
If the dispenser is not used for a long time, unplug the power supply and
drain the remaining water in the tank. Fill about 500 ml of boiled water
before using again.
The drip tray (detachable) and water tank can be cleaned in water, and wiped
dry with a soft cloth.
The water in the tank should not be stored for more than 48 hours, clean the
tank regularly.
Do not place the dispenser in direct sunlight or strong light, keeping away
from fire and high temperature.
Be ensure to use purified water, using of tap water or water source with poor
quality may cause less water volume, blockage, scaling and etc., and may lead
to shorter service life of water dispenser.
Cautions
Place the water dispenser on a stable table and do not leave when using it.
Do not add water over the maximum scale; do not add hot water, ice and other
mixed liquid, such as milk, juice, etc.
Use the power socket correctly and disconnect the power supply during
maintenance and transportation.
Do not use wet hands to remove and insert the plug to avoid fire, electric
shock or short circuit. Do not immerse the dispenser body in water during
cleaning and do not rinse the main machine of the water dispenser with water.
- Do not allow children to touch, approach or operate the water dispenser.
- If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the professional personnel from the maintenance department or similar department of the manufacturer to avoid danger.
- Use a separate socket with a grounding wire rated at 10A or above, and do not share socket with other electrical appliance to avoid fire.
- Do not use under voltages other than 220V AC to avoid fire and electric shock.
