Description
Before Using And Operating
Before using your kettle
If you are using the kettle for the first time, it is recommended that you clean it before use by boiling a full kettle of water twice and then discarding the water.
NOTE: The maximum capacity of the kettle is 1.5L.
Operation of your kettle
To fill the kettle, remove it from the power base and open the lid by lifting the lid handle. Fill with the desired amount of water. The water level should not exceed the max marks or fall below the min marks. Too little water will cause the kettle to switch off before the water has boiled.
NOTE: Do not fill the water above the maximum level, as it may spill out of the spout when boiling. Ensure that the lid is firmly in place before plugging the power outlet.
- Position the kettle on the power base.
- Connect the plug to a power outlet. Press down the switch; the indicator light will turn on. The kettle will start boiling the water and switch off automatically once the water has boiled.
NOTE: Ensure that the switch is free of obstructions and the lid is
firmly closed; the kettle will not turn off if the switch is constrained or if
the lid is open.
Lift the kettle from the power base and pour the water.
NOTE: Be careful when pouring the water from your kettle, as boiling water may cause scalding. Also, do not open the lid while the water in the kettle is hot.
The kettle will not re-boil until the switch is pressed again. The kettle may be stored on the power base when not in use.
Boil-dry protection
If you accidentally let the kettle operate without water, the boil-dry protection will automatically switch off the power. If this occurs, allow the kettle to cool before filling it with cold water and re-boiling.
Cleaning And Maintenance
- Always disconnect the appliance from the power outlet before cleaning.
- Never immerse the kettle, power cord, or power base in water or allow moisture to come into contact with these parts.
- Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a mild and damp cloth or cleaner. Never use a harsh cleaner.
CAUTION
- Do not use chemical, steel, wooden, or abrasive cleaners to clean the outside of the kettle to prevent loss of gloss.
Removal of mineral deposits
Your kettle should be descaled periodically as mineral deposits in tap water may form scale on the bottom of the kettle, reducing its efficiency. You can use a commercially available descaler following the instructions on the package. Alternatively, you can follow the instructions below using white vinegar.
Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar, then add water to completely
cover the bottom of the kettle. Leave the solution in the kettle overnight.
Discard the mixture in the kettle, then fill the kettle with clean water, boil
it, and discard the water. Repeat this process several times until the vinegar
odor is eliminated. Any remaining stains inside the spout can be removed by
rubbing with a damp cloth.
Environmental friendly disposal
- You can help protect the environment! Please remember to follow local regulations and dispose of non-working electrical equipment at an appropriate waste disposal center.
