Intended Use
Your Mellif pruner has been designed for professional landscaping
applications. This pruner is intended to be used on plant materials only.
DO NOT use under wet conditions or in the presence of flammable liquids or
gases.
This pruner is a professional power tool.
DO NOT let children come into contact with the tool. Supervision is required
when inexperienced operators use this tool.

OPERATION
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, turn unit off and
remove the battery pack before making any adjustments or removing/installing
attachments or accessories.
An accidental start-up can cause injury.
Installing and Removing the Battery Pack
WARNING: Ensure the switch is in the off position before inserting battery pack.
NOTE: For best results, make sure your battery pack is fully charged.
To install the battery pack into the tool handle, align the battery pack with
the rails inside the tool’s handle and slide it into the handle until the
battery pack is firmly seated in the tool and ensure that it does not
disengage.
To remove the battery pack from the tool, press the release button and firmly
pull the battery pack out of the tool handle. Insert it into the charger as
described in the charger section of this manual.
Proper Hand Position
WARNING:
- To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, ALWAYS use proper hand position as shown.
- To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, ALWAYS hold securely in anticipation of a sudden reaction.
Proper hand position requires one hand on the main handle.
Switching On
DANGER: Keep hands and other body parts: away from the blade. Contact with the blade will result in serious personal injury laceration and amputation hazard.
- Keeping your hands and other body parts away from the blade, press lock-on/off button and squeeze the trigger switch twice, and then squeeze the trigger switch to work.
- The cutting blade will make a cut cycle. Once this cycle is complete you must release the trigger switch.
- To make repeated cuts, squeeze the trigger switch again.
- To turn the tool off, release the trigger switch and then long press lock-on/off switch.
NOTE: In order to start the unit, you must squeeze the lock-on/off switch twice before work.
Pruning Instructions
Return the Blades to A Closed Position
When it is in working mode, you can long press the trigger,when hearing three quick beeps, the blades will return to close position to ensure your safety.
DANGER: Keep hands and other body parts away from the blade. Contact with the blade will result in serious personal injury.
WARNING: To guard agains injury,observe the following:
- Read instruction manual before using. Save instruction manual.
- Check the shrub for foreign objects such as wires or fences before each use.
- Keep hand on firmly on tool and other hand far away from cutting action. Don’t overreach.
- Do not use under wet conditions.
CAUTION: Do not use blade to cut branches greater than 0.98″ (25 mm). Use the pruner only for cutting normal shrubbery around houses and buildings.
Working Position
Maintain proper footing and balance and do not overreach.
Wear safety goggles, non-skid footwear and gloves when pruning. Hold the tool
firmly. Always hold the pruner.
Never hold the tool by the blades.
Auto Shut off: The unit will shut off automatically after 15 minutes.

Position the branch to be cut between the cutting blade and fixed blade
-
Press the lock-on/off button and squeeze the trigger switch twice, and then squeeze the trigger switch to work.
-
The cutting blade will make a cut cycle and cut the branch off.
NOTE: Cut branches at an angle for a cleaner cut. -
Release the trigger switch.
Sleep Mode: The unit will enter sleeping mode if not using in 1 minute. Press the trigger switch twice to activate it.
Auto Shut-off: The unit will shut off automatically after 15 minutes when not in use.

Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper tool care and regular
cleaning.
Removing and Installing Blade
DANGER: RISK OF INJURY. WHEN REASSEMBLING THE BLADE SYSTEM, ENSURE EACH PART IS REINSTALLED CORRECTLY, AS DESCRIBED BELOW. IMPROPER ASSEMBLY OF THE BLADE OR OTHER PARTS OF THE BLADE SYSTEM CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY.
DANGER: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, turn unit off, remove battery pack before making any adjustments or removing/ installing attachments or accessories. An accidental start-up can cause serious personal injury.
WARNING: Use gloves and proper eye protection. Be careful of the sharp edges on the blade.

Remove the battery.
-
Wear proper eye protection and gloves and be careful not to cut yourself.
-
Place the product on a smooth, level surface.
-
Using the supplied hex wrench loosen the fixed blade screw one full turn. This will allow for easier removal and assembly of the cutting blade.
-
Flip the product onto its other side.
-
Using the hex wrench remove the cutting blade screw and nut.
-
Remove the cutting blade.
-
Install the new cutting blade.
NOTE: Ensure the cutting edge faces toward the fixed cutting blade. -
Insert the cutting blade screw through the cutting blade and screw mount into nut.
-
Use the hex wrench to loosely tighten the cutting blade screw.
-
Flip the product onto its other side and use the hex wrench to fully tighten the fixed blade screw.
-

Blade Maintenance
WARNING: Use gloves and propereye protection while removing, sharpening,
and installing blade.
The cutting blades are made from high quality, hardened steel and with normal
usage, they will not require resharpening. However, if you accidentally hit a
wire fence,stones, glass, or other hard objects, you may put a nick in the
blade. There is no need to remove this nick as long as it does not interfere
with the movement of the blade. If you drop the trimmer, carefully inspect it
for damage. If the blade is bent, housing cracked, handles broken or if you
see any other condition that may affect the tool’s operation contact your
local authorized service center for repairs before putting it back into use.
- Remove the battery.
- Remove blade from pruner. See instructions for Removing and Installing Blade.
- Wear proper eye protection and gloves and be careful not to cut yourself.
- Secure blade in a vise.
- Carefully file the cutting edge of the cutting blade with a fine tooth file (not included) or sharpening stone (not included), maintaining the angle of the original cutting edge of the cutting blade.
- Inspect the edge of the fixed blade and remove any burrs with a fine tooth file.
- Install sharpened cutting blade as described in the Removing and Installing Blade section.
Blade Lubrication
- After use, remove the battery.
- Carefully apply a resin solvent to the exposed blades.
Storage
- After use, remove the battery.
- Keeping your hands away from the blade, and store in a dry location, away from the reach of children.
Cleaning
WARNING: Neveruse solventsor other harsh chemicals for cleaning the non- metallic parts of the tool. These chemicals may weaken the plastic materials used in these parts. Use a cloth dampened only with water and mild soap. Never let any liquid get inside the tool; never immerse any part of the tool into a liquid.
