STEP 1: SELECT LOCATION
When selecting a location, it is important to note and mark the location of
each of the Lumenese LED lights as well as the location of a nearby outlet. An
outlet will be required to power up the adapter, that plugs into the Lumenese
controller and energize your new Lumenese Lighting System; marking the
location of each of the lights will help you install the Lumenese Tape. This
kit includes 50 feet of Lumenese Tape to allow you to build based on your
wildest imagination!
STEP 2: CUT THE TAPE
The Lumenese Tape can and should be cut using scissors. When preparing to cut
the tape for a corner, use the Lumenese Tape Applicator to ensure the tape is
cut at an approximately 45 degree angle.
STEP 3: STICK THE TAPE
Ensure the area that you will be installing the Lumenese Lighting System is
clean, dust free and that the surface paint and/or are not chipping and/or
cracking to ensure proper adhesion of the Lumenese tape. Applying the Lumenese
Tape to a surface is simple. Remove only the white backing tape from the
Lumenese Tape and apply to the chosen surface. Avoid touching the adhesive
directly, as touching it may reduce the sticking efficiency.
Ensure that the Lumenese Tapes do not cross over another, as this will prevent the Lumenese Lighting System from functioning. Ensure the area is dust free so that adhesive will work properly.
Once the tape is applied, use the Lumenese Tape Applicator (provided in kit) and apply pressure to the tape, while sliding the applicator over the Lumenese Tape back and forth to ensure the tape is adhered to the surface and to remove any bubbles you may have.
Peel off the clear protective tape slowly; ensuring that the two copper lines
stay adhered to the surface. Once completely removed, use the Lumenese Tape
Applicator again as indicated in the step above to finalize the install.
When removing the clear protective tape, try to remove it at an angle parallel
to the copper (i.e. be as close to the surface of the installed Lumenese tape
as possible). This will reduce the likelihood of accidental removal of the
copper.
Complete your Lumenese Tape install by installing an Lumenese Corner to each of the corners. Each line will require a corner. Remove the white backing tape from each Lumenese Corner, apply the Lumenese Corner to the Lumenese Tape and finalize the install by using the Lumenese Tape Applicator as indicated above.
STEP 4: STICK THE LIGHT
Remove the white backing tape from the Lumenese Controller and Lumenese LED lights and install them anywhere on your Lumenese Tape (Do not install over the Lumenese Corners). When installing the lights, ensure that all the arrows on the Lumenese LED lights as well as the Lumenese Controller are pointing in the same direction. If the direction is reversed, the Lumenese LED light will not power on. Once applied, firmly press on the Lumenese LED and Lumenese Controller to ensure proper adherence to the Lumenese Tape.
Use the arrow to properly align the Lumenese Controller and Lumenese LED light, by aligning the red notch to be in-between the two copper lines.
Remove all red vinyl tape once the installation has been verified.
FINAL STEPS
Finalize your install by plugging the power adapter into the wall and the jack into the bottom part of the Lumenese Controller. Remove the battery tab from the bottom of the Lumenese Remote Control, press “1” on the controller and you are ready to use your new Lumenese Lighting System.
Programming the Lumenese Wireless Remote:
Lumenese Controller has been factory programmed to the Lumenese Wireless
Remote Controller’s Group 1 button. The Lumenese Remote Control is equipped
with a “Sleep Mode” function to extend the battery life. The Lumenese Remote
Control enters the “Sleep Mode” when the touch remote is not used for longer
than 20 seconds. Press any key for more than half a second to exit the “Sleep
Mode.”
Programming a 3-way switch (Using two remotes to control one room):
Programming a Code:
Plug in the adapter into the wall and the jack into the Lumenese Controller.
Press the selected group (number 1, 2 or 3 on the Lumenese Remote Control) for
2 seconds within 6 seconds of powering up the Lumenese Controller. The LED
lights will flash 3 times to indicate a successful program. Repeat the same
procedure on the second Lumenese Remote Controller.
Clearing a Code:
Repeat the same process on the programmed Lumenese Remote Control as noted
above (Programming a Code). Lumenese Controller can store the settings for two
(2) Lumenese Remote Controls.
Programming multiple rooms onto one controller:
Repeat the same process as indicated under “Programming a Code” for each
Lumenese Controller that you wish to add to the Lumenese Remote Control.
Remember to use the same group (number 1, 2 or 3 on the Lumenese Remote
Control) each time. The Lumenese Remote Control can be programmed into as many
Lumenese Controllers as you require. The Lumenese Remote Control is limited up
to a 50-foot range (based on room interferences) from the Lumenese Controller.
Painting Over Your Lumenese Tape:
Painting the Lumenese tape is optional, however some people may choose to do
so. Please note that not all paints and primers are compatible with the
Lumenese tape. As a general rule of thumb, you should pick a basic primer and
avoid primers that are “sealers,” and/or may have “stain-blocking technology.”
It is advisable to test the paint and primer on a small surface of scrap
Lumenese tape and reviewing the results after the paint and/or primer have
set/thoroughly dried, prior to painting the complete Lumenese tape. In
general, a single coat of primer and two coats of paint should be sufficient
to hide the Lumenese tape. If the event that the Lumenese tape is still
visible, try applying additional coats of paint and/or using a different style
of brush/roller.
