3. Health damage caused by hand-arm vib-rations if the equipment is used over a pro-longed period or is not properly guided and maintained.

5. Before using the machine

Warning!
Always remove the battery before making adjustments to the machine.

5.1 Fitting the fl exible shaft (Fig. 1/Item 1)

Use the union nut (a) to screw the fl exible shaft (1) onto the housing of the cordless grinding and engraving machine.

5.2 Wall-mounting (Fig. 3)

You can fasten the machine on a wall using the mounting holes (b) provided. The correct dimensions for drilling holes in the wall can be found on the back of the machine.

Spacing distances
≥ 10 cm from the wall (right + left)
≥ 100 cm from the ceiling

Important!

When mounting on a wall you must use suitable screws (e.g. 3.5 mm pan-head screws) in order to prevent damage to the housing and risk of the machine falling.

5.3 Carrying strap (Fig. 3/Item 7)

The carrying strap (7) can be used to carry the machine, e.g. from your shoulder.
Fasten the carrying strap (7) at the holes provided using the two carabiners (c) as shown in Fig. 3.

5.4 Charging the LI battery pack (Fig. 4-5)

1. Remove the battery pack (d) from the handle, pressing the pushlock buttons (e) downwards to do so.
2. Check that your mains voltage is the same as that marked on the rating plate of the battery charger. Insert the power plug of the charger
(f) into the mains socket outlet. The green LED will then begin to fl ash.
3. Push the battery pack onto the battery char-ger.

In section 10 “Charger indicator” you will fi nd a table with an explanation of the LED indicator on the charger.
If the battery pack fails to become charged, ple-ase check

  • whether there is voltage at the socket-outlet
  • whether there is proper contact at the char-ging contacts on the charger.

If the battery still fails to become charged, please return

  • the charger
  • the battery pack to our Customer Service Department.

To ensure that items are properly packaged and delivered when you send them to us, please contact our customer service or the point of sale at which the equipment was purchased.

When shipping or disposing of batteries and cordless tools, always ensure that they are packed individually in plastic bags to prevent short circuits and fi res.

To ensure that the battery pack provides long ser-vice, you should take care to recharge it promptly. You must recharge the battery pack when you notice that the performance of the device drops. Never allow the battery pack to become fully di-scharged. This will cause it to develop a defect.

5.5 Battery capacity indicator (Fig. 6 – Item h)

Press the battery capacity indicator switch (g). The battery capacity indicator (h) shows the char-ge status of the battery using 3 LEDs.

All 3 LEDs are lit:
The battery is fully charged.

2 or 1 LED(s) are lit:
The battery has an adequate remaining charge.

1 LED fl ashes:
The battery is empty, recharge the battery.

All LEDs blink:
The battery temperature is too low. Remove the battery from the equipment, keep it at room tem-perature for one day. If the fault reoccurs, this me-ans that the rechargeable battery has undergone exhaustive discharge and is defective. Remove the battery from the equipment. Never use or charge a defective battery.

5.6 Storing the accessories (Fig. 7/Item 2)

The accessories can be stored in the storage box (2). To access the accessories, pull the storage box (2) out of the housing as shown in Fig. 7. To quickly access frequently used accessories you can use the rubber insert (i) provided for the purpose. See Fig. 7.

6.2 Speed controller (Fig. 10/Item 3)

The required speed can be set with the speed controller (3).

  • Turn it clockwise to increase the speed.
  • Turn it counter-clockwise to reduce the speed.

Important!

The correct speed depends on the tool used and the type of material being processed.

6.3 Information on speed settings

  • Small cutters/grinding pins: High speed
  • Large cutters/grinding pins: Low speed

6.4 Practical tips

  • Exert only moderate pressure on the work-piece so that it can be machined at constant speed.
  • Instead of accelerating your work, high pres-sure will cause the drive unit to slow down and even stop, thus overloading the motor.
  • For your own safety, it is essential to secure small workpieces with a screw clamp or vise.
  • Precision work/engraving: Hold the drive unit like a pen (single-handed).
  • Rough work: Hold the drive unit like the hand-le of a hammer (two-handed).

For EU countries only
Never place any electric power tools in your household refuse.
To comply with European Directive 2012/19/EU concerning old electric and electronic equipment and its implementation in national laws, old electric power tools have to be separated from other waste and disposed of in an environment-friendly fashion, e.g. by taking to a recycling depot.

Recycling alternative to the return request:
As an alternative to returning the equipment to the manufacturer, the owner of the electrical equipment must make sure that the equipment is properly disposed of if he no longer wants to keep the equipment. The old equipment can be returned to a suitable collection point that will dispose of the equipment in accordance with the national recycling and waste disposal regulations. This does not apply to any ac-cessories or aids without electrical components supplied with the old equipment.
Please note that batteries and lamps (e.g. light bulbs) must be removed from the tool before it is dispo-sed of.

The reprinting or reproduction by any other means, in whole or in part, of documentation and papers ac-companying products is permitted only with the express consent of the Einhell Germany AG.
