FAQ
How do I operate my DXFF30TSN?
Thermostat:
- Turn the knob to the maximum setting initially.
- When the room is warm enough, reduce the setting slowly until the heater just clicks off.
- The heater will now cycle on and off to maintain your selected room temperature.
Heat settings:
- Turn the dial from “off” to the desired heat setting and adjust the thermostat as described.
Does my DXFF30TSN need to stand on a hard surface?
- We recommend you stand the DXFF30TSN on a hard, even surface.
- Do not use the heater on deep pile carpets or the long hair type of rugs, or less than 750mm (30″) away from any overhanging surface.
- Keep combustible materials such as drapes and other furnishings away from the sides and rear and at least 750mm away from the front of the heater.
Can I use my heater to dry clothes?
- Do not use your heater to dry your laundry.
- NEVER cover the heater.
Can I use the DXFF3OTSN to heat the bathroom?
- Do not use the heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower, or a swimming pool.
Can I use an extension cable?
- Do not use an extension cable because the extension cord may overheat and cause a risk of fire.
How do I care for my DXFF30TSN?
- Normal use of your fan heater in areas that have high levels of fluff, dust, or hair (e.g. bedrooms, dressing areas, or hair salons), especially on solid/lino-covered floors, will result in the accumulation of these inside the heater at the back of the element.
- If left to build up it will eventually result in the safety cut-out operating to protect you and the heater from the danger of the product overheating.
- It is therefore critical that you use a vacuum cleaner to regularly blow out and clean away any accumulation from the heater (refer to the cleaning instructions included with the product for more information).
- If the heater has been stored for a few months, we recommend you vacuum the air inlet before use.
Why has my heater not been switched or switched off?
- If the heater does not come on when the thermostat is set low, this is normally because the room is warmer than the thermostat setting and is not a fault.
- To avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut-out, this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.
- For your safety, this appliance is fitted with a thermal cut-out.
- If the product overheats, the cut-out switches the heater off automatically.
- To bring the heater back into operation, remove the cause of the overheating, then unplug or turn off the electrical supply to the heater for a few minutes.
- When the heater has cooled sufficiently, reconnect and switch on the heater.
Why is my plug hot? Or showing signs of burning?
- Although the plug is hot, it may not be the root cause of the problem.
It may be due to:
- Using an extension cable
- Not unwinding the cable completely from the cable tidy
- Loose connections
- Connections overtightened
- Cut strands to internal connectors
- Fake fuse
- Underrated fuse
- • Poorly fitted or poor quality socket
