INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING THE MOUNTAIN CLIMBING HARNESSES EN 12277.
Do not use this product without first carefully reading these instructions.
These instructions contain all necessary information for correct usage,
storage and maintenance. Any other use is PROHIBITED and may cause a serious
accident, injury, or death. There are many unsuitable ways to use these
products and only some of them are described in these instructions (crossed-
out illustrations). The product may only be used by competent and responsible
persons or persons under the direct instruction and supervision of such
persons. The user is responsible for the risks that may arise as a result of
failure to comply with the correct method of use.

USE
Personal protective equipment (PPE) used as protection against falls, during
mountain climbing, sport climbing, on via ferratas, during ski mountaineering,
speleology and canyoning.
Put on the climbing harness. Adjust the size of the harness so that movement
is not restricted. Make sure the harness is correctly adjusted before using by
a test suspension in a safe location. Breathing must not be restricted when
the user is freely suspended. The suspension position should not cause pain
nor stress to the back or bending of the lower back. Metal components should
not cause irritation of the lower back or vertebrae. Only loops and eyes
intended for this purpose should be used to tie into the harness (fig. 7, 8).
Tie into the harness (fig. 1) using a figure-of-eight knot.
WARNING: Never use a chest harness (fig. 9) alone, but only in combination
with a sit harness. Type B climbing harnesses may be used only be persons up
to 40 kg. After a hard fall (fall factor >= 1) the climbing harness must be
immediately discarded.
CHECKING
Before every use, always check that the product is in perfect condition and
that it does not show signs of wear (loose, worn or broken fibers, damage to
load bearing stitching) or other damage. In case of the slightest doubt,
replace the product with a new one. ¨
During use regularly check the position of the straps in the buckles
(fig.3-6).
Besides regular checks before and after use, the harness must be thoroughly
examined at least once every 12 months by a professionally qualified person.
The frequency of the professional checks is determined by the type and
intensity of use of the harness. For the best overview of equipment usage, it
is recommended to assign all equipment components to only one user, who will
know the history of the equipment very well. The report of the examination
should be recorded on the product registration record.

ACCESSORIES
Verify that the product is compatible with other elements of the system and that these elements comply with the applicable regulations, standards, and directives. Also verify that the entire system has been assembled correctly and that the safe operation of its individual components does not interfere with each other.
MATERIALS
The materials used do not cause allergic reactions, hypersensitivity or skin
irritation.
STORAGE AND TRANSPORT:
Transport your product using the packaging included with your product.
Keepyour product away from direct sunlight, chemical compounds, heat or
mechanical damage. Ideal storage conditions are a dry, dark and cool area.
MAINTENANCE
Modifications and repairs performed outside of the Ocún brand’s manufacturing plant are prohibited.
CLEANING AND DISINFECTION
Cleaning and disinfection: Clean soiled products with cold or warm water up to
30° C, or using a mild soap solution (then wash thoroughly with clean water).
Dry in a shady and well-ventilated place, avoiding direct sunlight.
Chemical cleaning and disinfection are not permitted and can seriously damage
the product.
EFFECT OF CHEMICAL COMPOUNDS:
It is absolutely necessary to avoid contact with chemical compounds
(chemicals), especially with acids and alkalis. Damage caused by acids is not
optically visible. Products that have come into contact with acids (e.g. car
battery acid) must be immediately retired from use.
LIFESPAN AND RETIREMENT FROM USE:
The lifespan of products is affected by many factors, such as frequency and
method of use, method of storage, climate conditions, and the like.
The product must be always replaced if:
- extremely high loads occur during a heavy fall
- seams, straps and buckles may be damaged
- it is permanently soiled (for example by grease, asphalt, oils, paints, etc.)
- it has been exposed to a strong thermal, contact or friction heat, with visibletraces of melting
- you do not know its complete past history
- seams, straps and buckles may be damaged
- if there are visible signs of wear and tear
- if the product has not been regularly professionally examined
Under ideal storage conditions and very infrequent use, the product should
bereplaced no later than 10 years after the date of manufacture.
Warning:
In extraordinary circumstances and conditions, the product may need to be
discarded after its first use. Moisture and / or ice reduces the strength of
the product.

- CE is the conformity mark, which means that the product meets the requirements of the relevant EU directive,

- After the UKCA mark is the number of the Approved body performing the UKCA type examination and production control of this product.
Tags may be located in various places according to the type and size of the
harness. Type B harnesses also include the maximum allowed user weight.
