Safety instructions

  • Use the product only for its intended purpose.
  • Do not use the product near heaters, other heat sources or direct sunlight.
  • Only use the article in moderate climate conditions.
  • Do not use the product in areas where electronic products are not permitted.
  • Do not use the product in the environment and do not spray it with water.
  • Do not short circuit the battery of the opened terminal device. There is a risk of explosion.
  • Protect the product from dirt, moisture and excessive heat and use it in a dry environment only.
  • Don’t drop the product and avoid major surprises.
  • Do not operate the product outside the power limits stated in the technical data.
  • Always pull the plug straight away when disconnecting the cable, never use the cable itself.
  • Make sure the cables do not pose a hazard or block the emergency exit.
  • Do not bend or crush the cable.
  • As with all electrical products, this device should be kept out of reach of children.
  • Do not modify the device in any way. Doing so voids the warranty.
  • Keep the packaging materials out of the reach of children due to the risk of suffocation.
  • Dispose of packaging materials immediately in accordance with locally applicable regulations.
  • Make sure there is enough scope for heat dissipation and ventilation.
  • When using this product, please read the applicable local traffic laws and regulations.
  • Take care that components such as airbags, safety areas, controls, instruments, etc. and visibility are not blocked or restricted.
  • Make sure the product is securely installed before each trip.
  • Do not disturb the product while driving the vehicle. Pay attention to the surrounding traffic and your surroundings.

Risk of electric shock

  • Do not open the device or continue operating it if it is damaged.
  • Do not use the product if the charging cable, adapter cable or power cord is damaged.
  • Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself. Leave any and all services to qualified experts.

Start-up and operation

Note – main voltaglan 12v

Only use the power supply unit in the car’s electrical network with a network voltage of 12 V.

  • Make sure your notebook needs a voltage supply of 15 V / 16 V / 19 V (+/- 1 Volt).
  • You can find this information on the original power supply unit or in the operating manual of your terminal device. If necessary, ask the dealer who gave you your terminal device or contact the support service of your terminal device manufacturer.
  • Set the voltage selector switch to the voltage required by your terminal device.

Warning

  • Do not use a universal notebook power supply unit if you cannot clearly determine the supply of your terminal device.
  • Do not change the voltage when the operation of the power supply unit is combined with the terminal device.
  • Make sure that the total power consumption of the notebook / netbook does not exceed the power output of the power supply unit of 70W.
  • Failure to comply with this may result in damage to the universal notebook power supply unit and connected terminal devices!

Note the instructions in your device’s operating manual.
If it does not contain instructions to the contrary, do the following:

Warning

  • Do not use force to connect the notebook connector.
  • Lost or missing notebook connectors can be requested via the support hotline or by visiting www.hama.com/adapter-service . Available connectors will be shipped to you free of charge.
  • Use the connector on the original power supply unit to select the appropriate notebook connector.
  • Without connecting to the power supply unit, select the mechanical compatibility between the notebook connector and the connection socket on the terminal device.
  • The connector should slide easily into the outlet, but not show much play.
  • Connect the corresponding notebook connector to the DC connection cable of the power supply unit.
  • Connect the cable to your terminal device.
  • Then connect the main connector to the car socket of the car’s electrical system.
  • When the power supply is active, the LED light will indicate that the power supply unit is ready for use.
  • The terminal device is now functional and on/charged.

A note about car batteries

  • With some vehicles, it is possible that electricity continues to be supplied even when the ignition is switched off.
  • You must disconnect the product from the car’s electrical system after turning off the engine to protect the car’s battery from draining.

Note about the USB-A socket
You have the option to charge or operate USB devices from the USB socket of the power source, such as a tablet PC, smartphone, etc. Now the maximum output from the USB socket is 1A.

Care and Maintenance

Disconnect the product from the main tool before cleaning.

  • Only clean this product with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
  • Make sure that no water can enter the product.
