UNPACKING

The shipment should be thoroughly inspected as soon as it is received. The signed “bill of lad- ing” is acknowledgement by the carrier of receipt in good condition or shipment covered by our invoice. For your own protection, if any of the goods called for on the bill of lading are shorted or damaged, do not accept them until the carrier makes a notation on the freight bill of the shorted or damaged goods.
Notify MAXXHAUL immediately if any hidden loss or damage is discovered after receipt.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Read and understand all safety warnings and instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in serious injury or death. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
  2. **Personal and Work Area Safety

A. Always wear ANSI approved safety goggles.

B. Always wear hearing protec- tection when working in noisy environments. Prolonged exposure to high intensity noise can cause hearing loss.
C. Use safety equipment. Safe- ty shoes, hard hat and work gloves must be used for applicable conditions.
D. Dress appropriately. Never wear loose fitting clothing or jewelry when working. Contain long hair, and keep hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts.
E. Use common sense when working. Stay alert and concentrate when setting up and using the Cargo Carrier Bag. Never work while under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medications.
F.** While setting up and when loading/unloading the Cargo Carrier Bag, keep work area clean and well lighted. Keep spectators and children out of the work area.

  1. Use of the Cargo Carrier Bag

A. Do not modify the Cargo Carrier Bag and do not use this product for purposes that it was not designed for.
B. Never exceed the maximum load ca- pacity of 100 Lbs. This product is de- signed to pack and travel with light duty cargo and soft goods weighing no more than 100 Lbs. Distribute weight evenly inside the Cargo Carrier Bag.
C. Be aware of the danger of “dynamic loading”. This situation arises when a load is dropped onto or thrown into the Cargo Carrier Bag, resulting in a short term ex- cessive load. Dynamic loading can result in damage and failure of the Cargo Carrier Bag, damage to the vehicle and its attached cargo carrier, and personal injury to the per- son loading the Cargo Carrier Bag.
D. Never load people or animals into the Cargo Carrier Bag. Keep children and spectators away when loading, unloading and using this product.
E. Adhere to all Department of Transporta- tion (D.O.T.) requirements when using this product. Always use all of the adjustable straps included to securely hold the cargo in place.
F. For the vehicle that will support the Cargo Carrier Bag, read all pertinent vehicle in- st ructions and warnings provided in the owner’s manual. Make sure that the vehicle has the appropriate cargo carrier cross bars needed to securely and safely mount the Cargo Carrier Bag. Make sure the vehicle’s engine is OFF, with parking brake set, before setting up, loading or unloading the Cargo Carrier Bag. Make sure the vehicle is in a safe location, away from traffic, when loading or unloading.
G. WARNING This product will require set-up on top of the vehicle’s cargo carrier. An assistant may be required to as- sist in the set-up. Depending on the size of the vehicle, use of a stool or ladder may be required. Use extreme caution when using a stool or ladder to prevent accidents. If you are not experienced or capable of doing this type of set-up, the Cargo Carrier Bag should be set-up by a qualified service technician.

H. Make sure the vehicle’s engine is OFF, with parking brake set, before loading or un- loading the Cargo Carrier Bag. The Cargo Carrier Bag must always fit within the cross bars of the cargo carrier. Never attempt to carry a load that is wider that the vehicle. Only attach the Cargo Carrier Bag to the ve- hicle’s cargo carrier. Never attempt to strap the Cargo Carrier Bag directly to the vehicle.

I. Obey all speed limits and traffic laws. Ad- here to all state and local regulations regard- ing loads that extend beyond the configura- tion of the vehicle.

J. Make sure that hardware and straps are secure prior to each trip.

K. Use caution when driving, turning, and backing up near obstructions which could interfere with the Cargo Carrier Bag and its contents.

L. Do not attempt to mount the Cargo Car- rier Bag on RV’s (Recreational Vehicles), trailers or towed vehicles. Do not use the Cargo Carrier Bag on off-road vehicles.

M. Maintain labels and nameplates on the Cargo Carrier Bag. They contain important information and must always remain read- able. Contact MAXXHAUL for replacements.

Keep in mind that the warnings previously discussed cannot cover all possible conditions or situations that could occur. It is important that the person setting up and using this product understand that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be built into this product, and must be supplied by the person(s) using this product. MAXXHAUL is not responsible for the attachment or the installation of this product. The attachment of this product is critical and beyond the control of MAXXHAUL. It neither guarantees, nor will it be liable for any damage resulting from the attachment or improper use of the Cargo Carrier Bag

NOTICE Make sure that cargo NOTICE in Cargo Carrier Bag is always properly secured. Be aware that sharp edges and irregular surfaces in the cargo can cause damage to the Cargo Carrier Bag.

Setting Up the Cargo Carrier Bag

Always wear ANSI approved safety goggles.

  1. Refer to photo on this page of the Cargo Carrier Bag. This Cargo Carrier Bag is de- signed to be set on top of the vehicle’s cargo carrier.

  2. Begin planning set-up of the Cargo Car- rier Bag. Note the eight straps that surround and hold the Cargo Carrier Bag in place. Note the flaps on three sides of the Cargo Carrier Bag. The side without a flap should be positioned facing forward (towards the front of the vehicle). The side with the MAXXHAUL logo should be facing towards Note the adhesive closure on three sides. Pull open the closure to access the zipper which opens the top panel.

  3. Check the vehicle’s cargo carrier. Make sure it is properly attached to the vehicle. Make sure that all hardware is tight and that the structure of the cargo carrier is in good condition.

  4. Load cargo either before or after placing the Cargo Carrier Bag on the cargo carrier. The load should be evenly distributed and must not exceed 100 Lbs. Close zipper and use adhesive closure to seal.

  5. Each of the 8 straps should first be at- tached to the lower cross bars of the cargo carrier (see photo below and 2 photos on next page. The attachment points should be directly below the location of the 8 buckles on the top panel of the Cargo Carrier Bag (see photo above). Gargo

To secure the straps:
Take the end of strap that has the buckle attached. Drape the end of strap behind the cross bar with the buckle to the front.

Raise tip of buckle to loosen strap

Pull down to tighten Strap

Now loop the end of strap underneath the buckle and through the middle slot of the buckle (see photo above left).

Next, loop the end of strap through the front slot of the buckle. Pull down on the strap to tighten the strap to the cross bar.

If the cargo has not already been added to the Cargo Carrier Bag, now is the time to do so. The load should be evenly distributed and must not exceed 100 Lbs. Close zipper and use adhesive closure to seal.

Bring loose end of each strap up and underneath the buckle; slide end of strap through the middle slot of buckle and then through forward slot as shown in photo above. Pull down tight on strap for a tight connection.

before the trip begins to be sure the Cargo Carrier Bag is securely connected to the cargo carrier. While on the road, periodically pull over and check the condition of the Cargo Carrier Bag.

Maintaining the Cargo Carrier Bag:
Keep the Cargo Carrier Bag clean of dirt, grease, harsh chemicals and road salt. Use soap and water and dry with a clean towel.

Warning Children should never be allowed to play with the Cargo Carrier Bag. When the product is not in use, it should be removed from the vehicle’s cargo carrier and stored in a location that can not be reached by children.

No replacement parts are available for this product.

Proof of purchase is required for warranty transactions; a copy of the original invoice or sales receipt is required.
