WELCOME TO YOUR PADDLE
SOME HELPFUL INFORMATION ON YOUR PADDLE
What length would suit my height?
People are generally recommended to start with the paddle around 20cm or 8
inches taller than their height. We recommend you start at this point – and
adjust from this point on to your personal preference. In general usage –
people often favor having their paddle at a greater length on longer duration
paddles on flat water – or a shorter length when on brief paddles or SUP
surfing.
How to adjust the height of the paddle?
Simply grip the paddle adjuster clip between thumb and forefinger and pop it
out.
Adjust to your desired length AND have the handle ‘straight’ super-fast by using a great little trick – match the hole ABOVE the hole that will give you your desired length – to the circular notch cut out in the paddle clip as shown below.
This means the pin in the adjuster is perfectly aligned to quickly pop into the hole you need for your desired length.
We stand behind our products as we say – so if you have any problems with this paddle clip we can provide you with a replacement – just ask!
Covered Joints
Your paddle has two joints that are protected with special covering tape as shown below. This is designed to always stay on – so please do NOT try and remove it.
How to take apart my SUP Paddle?
For the best storage and transport, here are the tips on how to properly
disassemble a paddle.
Just like how you adjust the length, release the clip to separate the top and
mid-section. Simply do the pop-out method by using the thumb and the
forefinger – the same as how you did it upon joining the shafts.
Then carefully pull out the upper paddle shaft (the bit with the handle
attached) and put into storage.
Using the paddle – which way around?
The paddle is designed to be used with the blade of your paddle bent at an
angle AWAY from you – this allows a longer stroke when entering the water –
and also allows the blade to come straight up and out of the water (easily) at
the end of the stroke – as opposed to lifting the water. As shown below:
I really hope these instructions have been helpful. Please know that we are
also an email away for any other questions you may have about your BPS paddle.
Thank you and see you on the water!
All the best,
Blair
