Product Information

Product Usage Instructions

Installation:

  1. Disconnect the product from the power source before installing or servicing to prevent electrical shock.
  2. Ensure the device is configured according to the connection diagram.
  3. Avoid unauthorized opening of the product to maintain warranty validity.

Connection:
Make the following connections using the specified cables and connectors:

  • L1, L2, L3 to T1, T2, T3
  • A1, A2
  • ST*, 11, 12, 14, 21, 22, 24, 31, 34, R1, R2, P1, P2, A(-), B(+), GND

Maintenance:
Use the specified Pozidrive Bits for tightening screws to the correct torque values.

Compatibility:
The product is compatible with Modbus communication and can be used with appropriate selectors for FLC and acceleration/deceleration ramps.

  1. What should I do if the product causes radio interference in my home?

    No, the soft starter does not have integrated short circuit and overload protection. These protections need to be procured separately.

SETTING PROCEDURE

The RSGD soft starter series feature 3-knob settings and an additional push button to test the overload protection, reset the alarms, setting the alarm recovery to Manual or Auto and enable/disable phase sequence protection.
Step 1: Set the ramp-up time. Set the knob to the desired starting time as required for the specific application.
Step 2: Set the ramp-down time. Set the knob to the desired stopping time as required for the specific application. Note: If no soft-stop is required, set the ramp-down knob to 0 sec. The datasheet provides guidance on how to set the ramp up and ramp down time.
Step 3: Set the full load current (FLC). Adjust the knob setting to the FLC value corresponding to the motor name plate to ensure proper overload protection.
Step 4: Set the alarm recovery mode. Make sure the RSGD is in idle mode (Green LED ON). To set the alarm recovery to auto, press the Test/Reset button for 5 secs. The MANUAL LED (yellow LED) will turn OFF. To set the alarm recovery to MANUAL the same procedure as described above applies.
Step 5: Disable phase sequence protection. Make sure the RSGD is in idle mode (Green LED ON). To disable phase sequence protection, press the Test/Reset button for 10 secs. The phase sequence LED (yellow LED) will turn ON. To re-enable the phase sequence protection, repeat the same procedure as described above.
Step 6: Test the overload function. To make sure that the overload function is working properly, set the alarm recover mode to manual and press the TEST/RESET button for 1 sec. The RSGD will trip and the red LED will flash 8 times indicating an overload alarm. The alarm relay (11,12) will also change state to Open.

Note: Products protected with manual motor starters must be wired with a minimum length of 2.0m (10.0m for 12,16A models) of Cu wire conductor with a maximum cross-sectional area of 2.5mm2 for 12, 16A devices and 10mm2 for higher currents. The length includes the conductors from the voltage source to the manual motor starter to the soft starter and from the soft starter to the load.
