HANDLEBAR INSTALLATION
Remove wedge cover
Use a wrench and turn the cover counterclockwise if the cover is too tight to
be removed.Install the Stem ① into the Head tube ②, and
tighten the stem bolt clockwise.
SADDLE INSTALLATION
Unlock the quick-release lever and insert the seat post into the seat tube.
Start to hand tighten the Adjustment nut ① and close the quick-release lever
②.
If the seat is not securely locked, open quick-release lever and tighten the
adjustment nut further.
PEDAL INSTALLATION
Match the pedal marked R with the right-hand crank arm,and match the pedal
marked L with the left-hand crank arm.
Left-hand crank arm example The left pedal (L) turns counter-clockwise
and the right pedal (R) turns clockwise.
BRAKE ADJUSTMENT METHOD
(MIGHT VARY DEPENDING ON MODELS) Disc Brake
Please make sure the proper distance between the brake pad (r1, r2) and the
disc brake rotor (usually < 1mm) for functional braking without making noise
while riding.
(1) Rotate the wheel and observe the distance between the brake pad and the
disc brake rotor.
A. Adjustments for insufficient braking power:
(2) Adjust the side with a wider distance. Adjustment method of r1: slightly
rotate the caliper adjusting screw (g) clockwise to make the distance between
the brake pad (r1) and disc brake rotor< 1mm without contacting the disc brake
rotor; Adjustment method of r2: rotate the cable-tightening screw (h), tighten
and adjust the brake cable (i), to make the distance between the brake shoe
(r2) and disc brake< 1mm. B.Adjustments for grinding noise during riding:
(2) Adjust the side with a narrower distance. Adjustment method of r1:
slightly rotate the caliper adjusting screw (g) counterclockwise to make the
distance between the brake shoe (r1) and disc brake < 1mm and the brake pad is
not contacting the disc brake rotor; Adjustment method of r2: rotate the
cable-tightening screw (h), loosen and adjust the brake cable (i), to make the
distance between the brake shoe (r2) and disc brake< 1mm and the brake pad is
not contacting the disc brake rotor; (3) Rotate the wheel and press the brake
lever to test the brake. If the result is not so good, please repeat steps
(2)(3). Band Brake
If the rear wheel can still rotate when the brake lever is engaged, use a
spanner to tighten the adjusting nut (j). If the brake power is still
insufficient, use the screwdriver to loosen the cable adjustment screw (k),
tighten the brake cable, and then secure the cable adjustment screw (k). Use
adjustment screw (l) to adjust the brake response. V-Brake
(1) Tighten the adjustment bolt (c) clockwise to push the brake pad closer
to the rim. Loosen the adjustment bolt (c) counterclockwise to set the brake
pad further away from the rim. Make sure both brake pads have a similar
distance to the rim.
(2) If the clearance of both sides is too far or too close (should be within
1-3mm), lose the brake cable adjustment screw (d). Then use one hand to press
the two brake pads to the proper position and pull the brake cable tight.
Secure the brake cable adjustment screw (d). Caliper Brake
Loosen the adjustment bolt (h) if the caliper is too tight or loose. Use one
hand to set the proper distance between the brake pads and rim, then tighten
the adjustment bolt.
If one brake pad touches the rim while another is far away, loosen the central
pivot (i). Adjust the position of the caliper brake and tighten the central
pivot(i).
RIDING SAFETY
- Always wear a helmet when riding a bike.
- Check brakes before riding.
- Inflate the tires within the recommended pressures displayed on the tires sidewall. The tires have the proper amount of tread, no bulges or excessive wear.
- Make sure the saddle and handlebar height is appropriate for the rider.
Check the bolts and nuts regularly to ensure everything is securely in place.
