CA-AX Wireless Audio Sensor
Model CA-AX is an optional accessory for CentralAlertTM Wireless Notification
System. It is a wireless audio sensor for monitoring alarm sounds. Any loud
alarm sound of 15 seconds or longer triggers Model CA-AX. Upon triggering, it
sends a wireless signal to activate a CentralAlertTM Master Unit and any
receiver units in the system.
Model CA-AX can detect alarm sounds used in smoke detectors (T3: beep-beep-
beep-pause; in carbon monoxide detectors (T4: beep-beep-beep-beep-long pause),
and various continuous sounds. The trigger time will range from 6 to 15
seconds depending on the sounds detected.
Model CA-AX is designed to transmit a “Battery OK” signal every 2 hours to the
CentralAlert Master Unit. During normal operations, its transmit indicator
blinks once every 15 seconds. When it has detected a low battery condition,
its transmit indicator will blink once every 3 seconds. Note: The new CA-AXv2
will transmit a low battery signal to the CentralAlert Master Unit once every
30 minutes.
Note: Please replace the batteries in the CA-AX immediately when the above low
battery indication has been observed. Install batteries:
- Install (2) AA-size alkaline batteries (user provided) and then turn on their power.
- Verify that the (red) “TRANSMIT” indicator blinks when the `TEST” button is pressed
Registering Model CA-AX:
This optional accessory must be learned by a Master Unit in order to work
within the system.
