Safety Information

Please read and follow all instructions and safety guidelines in this manual.
General Use

  • Check the scale before using. Do not use the scale if it is damaged in any way.
  • Do not strike or bang on the scale and do not use the scale if there is a slight crack on the glass. Due to the nature of tempered glass, the glass will shatter if there is a slight crack.
  • If you see a crack, contact Customer Support (see page 9).
  • The glass platform is slippery when wet. Always make sure the platform and your feet are dry before stepping onto the scale.
  • Place the scale on a hard, flat surface.
  • To weigh safely and accurately, stand with your feet shoulder width apart while on the scale. Do not stand on the edge of the scale or jump on the scale.
  • Avoid standing on the scale for a long period of time.
  • Do not overload the scale. Maximum weight capacity is 450 lb / 205 kg / 32 st.
  • Keep the scale in a cool area with low humidity. Keep the scale away from heat sources, such as ovens or heaters.
  • Store the scale horizontally, not vertically.
  • For household use only. This scale is not intended for commercial use.
  • Handle with care.

Batteries

  • Do not mix new and old batteries.
  • If the scale is not in use for a long period of time, remove the batteries to extend the lifetime of the scale.

Before First Use

  • Take out the all the 4 AAA batteries from the bottom of the package box.
  • Open the battery compartment on the underside of the scale.
  • Install the batteries. Follow the guidelines in the battery compartment to match the + and – terminals.

Operation

Using the Scale
Note:

  • Press the UNIT button on the underside of the scale to switch units between pounds (lb) , stone(st) and kilograms (kg).
  1. Place the scale on a hard, flat surface.
    Note: Using the scale on soft surfaces such as carpets and mats will result in inaccurate measurements.

  2. Stand on the scale until the lights up to confirm result is accurate.

  3. Note: Activate the scale first when weighing items <5lb Measure items as light as 0.2 lb / 100 g, like packages, pet foods, or fruits, with pinpoint accuracy. When“ ”is displayed , a minimum of 0.2 lb / 100 g can be weighed.[Figure 3]Ovutek VWS530 Series Royyt Body Weight Scale - fig

  4. Measure Again
    Step off the scale.[Figure 4] Lights up to confirm the result is accurate.[Figure 5] and “Err” will display to remind the result maybe inaccurate due to some reason, we recommend you re-measure.[Figure 6]Ovutek

  5. Family Mode
    Long press the UNIT button at the underside of the scale for 3 seconds to switch between family/normal mode ( means family mode).

  6. Step on the scale and get off the scale after weighing.Figure 7

  7. Pick up the baby/pet, weigh again, and step off the scale after completion (within 1 minute of the last weighing).Figure 8

Note:

  • Family mode:  The second weighing within one minute after weighing will automatically calculate the weight difference.

Replacing the Batteries

  1. Open the battery compartment on the underside of the scale.
  2. Remove the old batteries and dispose of them properly.
  3. Install 4 new 1.5V AAA batteries. Make sure the polarities match.
  4. Close the battery compartment, place the scale on a hard, flat surface.

Cleaning the Scale

  1. Use a slightly damp cloth to clean the surface of the scale, followed by a soft, dry cloth to wipe away the remaining moisture.
  2. Do not use chemical or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the scale.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Scale does not turn on. No battery installed Get the included battery from

the package and install it by matching the t and – terminals according to the guide in the battery box
Batteries are dead.| Replace the batteries. See Replacing the Batteries (page 10).
Batteries are not properly installed.| Insert batteries under the correct polarity as marked on battery compartment.
Display backlight does not come on when stepping
on scale.| Scale may be malfunctioning.| Contact Customer Support (see page 9).
Display shows “ “| Weight exceeds 450 lb / 205 kg.| Remove weight from the scale. Use a different scale with a higher weight range.
Item being weighed is too light.| Use a different scale to measure item.
Display shows “ “| Battery power is low.| Replace the batteries. See Replacing the Batteries (page 10).
Display shows “ “| Not enough power
Measure Again.| Display shows “ “| Result is accurate
Display shows” ” And Show “Err”| The result maybe inaccurate due to some reason, we recommend you re-measure.
Reading is inaccurate.| Scale is not on a level surface.| Place scale on a level surface.
Scale was not cleared properly.| Remove the batteries for 45 seconds and replace them to reset the scale.

TERMS & POLICY
Ovutek warrants this product to the original purchaser to be free from defects in material and workmanship, under normal use and conditions, for a period of 2 years from the date of original purchase.
Ovutek agrees, at our option during the warranty period, to repair any defect in material or workmanship or furnish an equal product in exchange without charge, subject to verification of the defect or malfunction and proof of the date of purchase.
There is no other express warranty. This warranty does not apply:

  • If the product has been modified from its original condition;
  • If the product has not been used in accordance with directions and instructions in the user manual;
  • To damages or defects caused by accident, abuse, misuse or improper or inadequate maintenance;
  • To damages or defects caused by service or repair of the product performed by an unauthorized service provider or by anyone other than Ovutek ;
  • To damages or defects occurring during commercial use, rental use, or any use for which the product is not intended;
  • To damages or defects exceeding the cost of the product.

Ovutek will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages in connection with the use of the product covered by this warranty.
This warranty extends only to the original consumer purchaser of the product and is not transferable to any subsequent owner of the product regardless of whether the product is trans-ferred during the specified term of the warranty.
This warranty does not extend to products purchased from unauthorized sellers. Ovutek ’s warranty extends only to products purchased from authorized sellers that are subject to Ovutek ’s quality controls and have agreed to follow its quality controls.
All implied warranties are limited to the period of this limited warranty.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
If you discover that your product is defective within the specified warranty period, please contact Customer Support via service@ovutek.com. DO NOT dispose of your product before contacting us. Once our Customer Support Team has approved your request, please return the product with a copy of the invoice and order ID.
