IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

4. To protect against fire, electric shock or personal injury; DO NOT immerse cord, electric plugs or the appliance in water or any other liquids.
5. DO NOT place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
6. Ensure that the appliance is used on a firm, flat and secure surface – out of reach of children, to avoid damage or injury.
7. This appliance is suitable for children aged 8 years and older and individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental abilities or limited experience, may use it under supervision with proper instructions to ensure safety.
8. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
9. DO NOT touch the hot surface. Make sure you use the handle or switch.
10. DO NOT use outdoors. The appliance is for household use only.
11. The use of accessories, which the manufacturer does not recommend, may result in fire, electric shock or personal injury.
12. ALWAYS unplug the appliance from the power source, when not in use and allow to cool before cleaning.
13. If the supply cord is damaged, it must the replaced by the manufacturer or serviced by a qualified electrician to avoid a hazard.
14. Avoid contact with steam from the spout when boiling water in your appliance.
15. The attached base can not be used for anything other than the intended use.
16. Extreme caution must be used when moving the appliance when containing boiling water.
17. Always take care when pouring boiling water from the kettle.
18. Be careful when refilling the kettle with water when hot.
19. If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may spill out, do not exceed max fill line.
20. Always ensure the lid is closed when the kettle is in use and do not lift it off the base during boiling – scalding may occur if the lid is removed mid brewing cycle.
21. Save these instructions for future use.

USING YOUR APPLIANCE

Before using your appliance for the first time, be sure to follow safeguards and cautions on pages 3 and 4.

USING YOUR KETTLE:

1. Ensure the kettle is placed on a flat surface.

2. Plug the power cord into the power outlet.

3. To fill the kettle, remove it off the base and open the lid by pressing the lid release button located on the top of the handle. Then fill with the desired amount of water and close the lid. The water level must be between the min and max fill line. Too little water will cause the kettle to switch off before the water has boiled.
   CAUTION: Do not exceed the max. capacity of 1.7 litres, this may cause water to spill out of the spout when boiling.
   PLEASE NOTE: Ensure the lid is firmly closed before switching on the kettle.

4. Position the kettle on the power base and press down the On/Off switch and the indicator will light up. The kettle will then start to boil the water.
   PLEASE NOTE: The kettle will automatically switch off after boiling. If you wish to re-boil the water again, you will have to wait for 30 seconds to elapse.

5. Lift the kettle off the power base and pour the water.
   CAUTION: Operate carefully when pouring the water from your kettle, as boiling water may result in scalding – do not open the lid while the water in the kettle is hot.

6. The kettle will not reboil until the switch is pressed again (after 30 seconds has passed since last boil). The kettle may be stored on the power base when not in use.
   PLEASE NOTE: Always disconnect the power supply, if not in use.

BOIL DRY PROTECTION:
This kettle is equipped with boil dry protection, so should you accidentally let the kettle operate without any water, this function will automatically switch off the power. If this occurs, allow the kettle to cool prior refilling with cold water before re-boiling.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

Always disconnect the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool down completely before cleaning.

1. Never immerse the kettle or power cord in water – or allow moisture to get in contact with these parts.
2. Wipe the exterior of the toaster body with a clean, damp cloth – NEVER use an abrasive or poisonous cleaner.
3. When the kettle is not in use, or stored away, the power cord may be wound under the base of the kettle.
