IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Read all instructions before use. When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should ALWAYS be followed including the following:
- This appliance is intended for domestic use only, it should not be used for commercial purposes.
- Before connecting the toaster to the power supply, check that the voltage indicated on the appliance rating label corresponds with the voltage in your home. If this is not the case, contact customer services and stop using the toaster.
- DO NOT let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or allow it to touch a hot surface.
- To protect against fire, electric shock or personal injury; DO NOT immerse the cord, electric plugs or the kettle in water or any other liquids.
- DO NOT place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
- Ensure that the toaster is used on a firm, flat and secure surface – out of reach of children, to avoid damage or injury.
- This appliance is suitable for children aged 8 years and older. Individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental abilities or limited experience, may use it under supervision with proper instructions to ensure safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
- DO NOT touch the hot surface. Make sure you use the handles or knobs.
- DO NOT use outdoors. The toaster is for household use only.
- The use of accessories, which the manufacturer does not recommend, may result in fire, electric shock or personal injury.
- ALWAYS unplug the toaster from the power source, when not in use and allow it to cool before cleaning.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must the replaced by the manufacturer or serviced by a qualified electrician to avoid a hazard.
- Bread may burn, therefore toasters must not be used near or below curtains and other combustible materials.
- Oversized food, metal foil packages or utensils must not be inserted in the toaster as they may cause fire or electric shock.
- DO NOT attempt to dislodge food when the toaster is in operation.
- WARNING: Potential burning risk. Bread slices less than 85mm in length need particular attention when removed from the toaster.
CAUTIONS
Before using your toaster for the first time, be sure to:
- Remove all protective wrapping and packaging before toasting.
- If the toaster starts to smoke, turn the knob to the left to stop toasting.
- Avoid using food with runny ingredients such as butter.
- Never attempt to remove jammed bread in the slot, without unplugging the toaster from the power source first. Take care not to damage the internal mechanism or heating elements when removing stuck bread.
- The bread slots are only suitable for toasting regular bread slices.

USING YOUR APPLIANCE
Before using your toaster for the first time, be sure to:
If you are using the toaster for the first time, please note that there may be
manufacturing residue or oil in the toaster’s heating element, it may emit an
odour during the first use. This is normal and should not occur after a few
uses.
USING YOUR TOASTER:

Make sure the removable crumb tray is fully inserted before use.

Plug the power cord into the power outlet.

Place the desired number of slices of bread into the slots. (Two slices is the most)

Set the colour control knob to your desired setting. There are 6 levels of browning to choose from. For first use, choose ‘3’ for an average setting and adjust accordingly.
PLEASE NOTE: Colour setting must be adjusted before toasting. It should not be adjusted during baking. -
Press the carriage handle down vertically until it is positioned in place. Once the bread has been toasted to the desired colour, the carriage handle will automatically spring up and you can remove the slices of toast.

During the toasting process, you may observe the toasting colour by cancelling the cycle at any time.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
Always disconnect the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool down completely before cleaning.
- Never immerse the toaster or power cord in water – or allow moisture to get in contact with these parts.
- Wipe the exterior of the toaster body with a clean, damp cloth – NEVER use an abrasive or poisonous cleaner.
- Pull the removable crumb tray at the bottom of the toaster out and empty it. It is recommended to do this at least once a week.
- When the toaster is not in use, and stored away, the power cord may be wound around the base of the toaster.
DISPOSING OF THE APPLIANCE
- Appliances bearing the symbol shown here may not be disposed of in domestic rubbish. You are required to dispose of old electrical and electronic appliances like this separately.

- The WEEE directive, introduced in August 2006, states that all electrical items must be recycled, rather than taken to landfill. Please arrange to take this appliance to your local Civic Amenity site for recycling, once it has reached the end of its life.
