IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Read all instructions before use. When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should ALWAYS be followed including the following:

1. This appliance is intended for domestic use only, it should not be used for commercial purposes.
2. Caution: the appliance emits very hot steam; always exercise extreme caution during use.
3. Hot surface -do not touch the hot section or heating components of the appliance.
4. Warning: Danger of scalding.
5. Keep the appliance away from flammable materials.
6. Before attempting any cleaning or maintenance, always unplug the iron from the power supply and allow it to cool sufficiently.
7. Do not use any damaged accessories.
8. Do not use this appliance outdoors.
9. Do not use the appliance in an enclosed space, filled with; oil-based paint thinners, some moth-proofing substances, flammable dust or other explosive or toxic vapours.
10. Do not store the appliance in direct sunlight or high humidity conditions.
11. Do not touch any sections of the appliance that may become hot during use, as this could cause injury.
12. Do not direct steam at people or animals
13. Do not direct steam towards equipment containing electrical components, such as the interior of ovens.
14. Switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the mains power supply before changing or fitting accessories.
15. Always unplug the appliance after use and before any cleaning or maintenance.
16. Always ensure that the appliance has cooled fully after use before performing any cleaning or maintenance or storing away.
17. The use of an extension cord with the appliance is not recommended.
18. This appliance should not be operated using an external timer or a separate remote control system.

CAUTIONS
Before using your steam generator iron for the first time, be sure to:

1. Only use tap water in your steam generator iron – however, if you live in an area with hard water, fast-scale build-up may occur. Therefore it is recommended to use distilled or de-mineralised water to prolong the lifetime of the appliance.

WARNING:

DO NOT USE
Perfumed water, from the tumble dryer, vinegar, starch, de-scaling agents, ironing aids, chemically de-scaled water or other chemicals. As they may cause water spitting, brown staining or damage to your appliance.

USING YOUR APPLIANCE

FILLING THE WATER TANK:

1. Fill the water tank before every use or when the water level in the tank drops below the minimum level. You can refill the water at any time during use.
2. Remove the water tank from the base.
3. Fill the water tank up to the MAX indication.
4. Put the water tank back into the appliance by fitting the bottom part into the appliance first.
5. Push in the top part of the water tank until it locks into place.

IRONING:

1. Place the steam generator on a stable and even surface.

2. Make sure there is water in the tank.

3. Plug in and switch on the iron at the mains power supply.

4. To increase the temperature of the iron, rotate the control dial in a clockwise direction until the desired heat setting is reached.

5. Reduce the temperature by rotating the control dial in an anticlockwise direction.

6. Press the ON/OFF button to switch on the steam generator. The indicator light will illuminate to signal that the iron has completed heating up (approx. 1 Minute.)

7. Press the carry lock release button to unlock the iron from the iron platform.

8. Press and hold the steam trigger to start ironing.

9. For best ironing results, after ironing with steam, perform the last strokes without the steam. PLEASE NOTE: When you use the appliance for the first time it may take up to 45 seconds for the steam to come out of the iron.
   NOTE: The pump is activated each time you press the steam trigger. It produces a subtle rattling sound, which is normal. When there is no water in the tank, the pump sound is louder. Make sure to refill the water tank when the water level drops below the minimum level. Use the steam boost function to remove stubborn creases.

10. Press the steam trigger twice quickly.

ECO MODE:
By using ECO mode (reduced amount of steam) you can save energy without compromising on the ironing result.

1. To activate the ECO mode, press the ECO button. The Green ECO light will illuminate.
2. To deactivate the ECO mode, press the ECO button again. The Green ECO light will turn off.

SAFETY AUTO-OFF MODE:

1. To save energy, the appliance switches off automatically when it has not been used for 10 minutes. The auto-off light on the ON/OFF button will start to flash.
2. To activate the appliance again, press the ON/OFF button, the appliance then will proceed to heat up again.

WARNING:
NEVER leave the appliance unattended when it is connected to the mains. Always make sure to unplug the appliance after use.

SMART SELF-CLEAN SYSTEM:

• Your appliance has been designed with a smart calc-clean system to ensure that de-scaling and cleaning are done regularly. This helps to maintain strong steam performance and prevents dirt and stains from coming out of the sole plate over time.
• Press and hold the SELF-CLEAN button for 2 seconds until you hear short beeps.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

To properly maintain your appliance you must clean it regularly.

Before attempting any cleaning or maintenance, always unplug the appliance from the power supply and allow it to cool sufficiently.

1. Drain the remaining water from the water tank to prevent it from leaking during cleaning.
2. Wipe the ceramic sole plate with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
3. If polyester has burnt onto the ceramic sole plate, wipe it with a soft cloth dipped in methylated spirits. Clean off the methylated spirits with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
4. To remove build-up around the steam holes, use a cotton wool top dampened with methylated spirits. Clean off the methylated spirits with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly.

TIP:
Clean the sole plate regularly to ensure smooth gliding on your fabrics.

STORAGE

1. Switch off the steam generator and unplug it.
2. Discard the remaining water in the tank and pour it down the sink.
3. Wind the power cord into the storage compartment and secure it with the storage hook.
4. Fold the mains cord and fasten it with a Velcro strip.
5. Push the carry lock release button to lock the iron in the iron platform.
6. You can carry the appliance with one hand, by the handle, if the iron is locked onto the iron platform.

• Appliances bearing the symbol shown here may not be disposed of in domestic rubbish. You are required to dispose of old electrical and electronic appliances like this separately.

• The WEEE directive, introduced in August 2006, states that all electrical items must be recycled, rather than taken to landfill. Please arrange to take this appliance to your local Civic Amenity site for recycling, once it has reached the end of its life.
